You know your work made an impression when you get asked by a major tool company to restore a tool for them. You deserved that honor. The saw looks amazing, excellent job.
they didn’t send anything to him. nor was that on the shelf. he probably just went and looked at a shelf of used tools at Skil to create a story and intro.
I consider myself pretty crafty. I’m a blue collar guy. If i’ll ever find out that you’re an office manager or an investment banker with these kinds of skills I don’t know if I could go on living.😂
Imagine the cool stuff this saw may have made and now its officially too good to use! 😂 So much work in this, glad you are back brother. My favorite part was when you made the Knob.
Thanks a lot mate , glad you enjoyed and glad you are back too! Your channel is my favourite one and you are the reason I don’t quit my TH-cam career when I was small channel . 👍 be well
That is so cool! What an honor for you to be chosen by SKIL Europe to restore this piece. I'm glad to see you back and hope that you are feeling much better!
You don't know how good is watching a such professional restoration like you do. Congratulations and Happy Birthday to SKIL. They made a good choice approaching you.
I've seen comments about how proud you must be, that Skil asked you to restore a tool.... ... Respectfully, I think it's the other way around. Skil should feel lucky that you accepted the request. Those one-off knives for the handle are OVER-THE-TOP cool!! You are very impressive, sir! This thing looks fantastic!
Wow! Giving an old tool new life is worth it's weight in gold. I restored my dad's very old Craftsman 3/8's drill. It didn't compare to today's tools but my making it new again brought my dad to tears as his father gave it to him as a Xmas gift 80 years ago. I made a stand for it so he could keep it in a holster. Plus I put on a new Jacob's chuck so if he needed to change a bit it was too easy. He kept it near the garage door on the cart, which I added an extension cord to. If he ever needed power near his rides, it was right there.
My mom and me are thrilled that you are back. We loved the restoration of the Skil saw, but that shouldn't be a shock because we love all of your videos. We hope that you are feeling good, and, as usual, we can't wait to see your next project. 🙂
You know, this is great. It's a tool company reaching out to a TH-cam channel, instead of a mobile game. I love it, and wish more sponsored content made sense like this. Also, congratulations on stepping outside your comfort zone and restoring an electric product.
Happy New Year and welcome back - you have been missed. Thank you #SkilEurope for partaking in helping make this video. Loved every single second of watching your craftsmanship; especially the making of the new knob/handle. I had no idea as to what you were creating. It is always a cool surprise when you don't know what you are creating. Thank you for sharing your craft with us and we all wish you a happy and healthy 2024.
It has been snowing here for the past two days. Now I am binge watching your videos trying to self motivate myself to go out and shovel my sidewalk and driveway. It isn’t working 🤪. What part of the world do you reside? Thanks for sharing and peace and prosperity to you from Texas, USA.
Woooo!! I hope you’re doing better now and you’ve recovered! Also that’s so cooool of Skil to have you restore one of their tools! It came out amazing!!!
What a cool experience for SKIL to invite you and offer you such a cool project. Absolutely a great restoration! Expertly done, sir. Happy 100 years, SKIL.
The face you admitted to electrical not being your strongest skill. Really made me appreciate your effort even more. From the video you look like a pro. I can't seem to wrap my head around electricity either. Great restoration, it looks beautiful. Maybe I'll win it
Working/Restoring with electrical materials can be indeed challenging but putting your efforts in learning and researching about electrical function/processing then you'll be delighted to see the results of your hard work anyways congratulations for getting invitation in SKIL tool company i hope you win the contest🤞 best of Luck 🍀.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊 actually , you can win this tool. This skilsaw will be give away by them to one of my viewer . All you can do , is to subscribe to their newsletter and you can have a chance to win the circular saw ! 😊I left a link in video description
It's cool to see how much care and effort you put into each piece. Even the small things like planning to turn the old blade into a knife. Thank you for sharing you work!
WOW! What a perfect restoration as always. It's a pleasure to watch you work your magic. Beautiful end product David, very well done. Making a tool to make a knob handle, there's nothing you can't do! God bless you! ❤️🙏🏼
I've been watching your videos since lockdown 2020 and you've inspired me so much I've learned a fair few bits off you too. Thank you mate! You and MyMechanics are the best restoration channels in my opinion 🤗
What a fantastic decision on Skil's part to have you do this restoration! Very tricky, multiple materials, methods, and electrical work! You are the pinnacle of restorers and love following this channel. Cheers from Theos_resto!
That was awesome. You said you don't work on electrical stuff but you seemed perfectly capable. The plastic parts restoration, especially, was extraordinary. Very well done.
I like your idea of restoring an arbor press and hope you do so soon. It will be fun to see the knife you make from the old saw blade, as well. Your videos inspire me to make my restoration projects the best they can possibly be. Thank you so much.
My dad has owned a couple of Skil saws over the years. His first one he bought in the mid 80s. It lasted until 2003, and he bought a new one then. Still has the one from 2003 to this day. As always, you do a magnificent job. Good luck to whoever wins this saw.
Hello, my dear friend and colleague, how are you? Has your illness improved? I am glad to see that you have published a new video. I ask God for health for you and all your loved ones.❤ Great work as always👌👍
I would be pretty chuffed that Skil asked you to restore one of their veteran electrical products! You have amazed me in the past with your ability to create new parts and restore to shop floor standard so this is no exception. Can you tell me if you have a picture to go by when having to create missing parts? Anyway a superb job! Love your channel!🤗🇦🇺
Bine ai revenit David, mi-era dor să văd un nou episod de la tine. Nici nu mai are rost să spun cât de mult mi-a plăcut, ce-i al tău e pus deoparte !!!
What a honor !! I think you did AWESOME !! It looks fantastic so fresh and new and it works....it works👍👍 !! Stand tall and proud it looks wonderful great work !!!👍👍
Making the plastic knob of all things was most impressive to me for some reason. I thought the plastic handle would be buffed out not painted. Good stuff
I switched all of my tools over to SKIL, got away from Dewalt, Makita and Milwaukee. As a DIY homeowner I have found their tools to be reasonably priced and durable. Their Table saw is awesome, impact drill, sawzall, circular saw miter saw, have gotten praise from my friends who actually do carpentry for a living. Just my honest opinion as a DIY homeowner.
Happy to see you're feeling better and back with a great restoration! Such a neat collab and of course amazing work on your end. Also, I love that old Skil font they used to use.
AND THAT'S IT'S CALLED RESTORATION it's really fascinating and fantastic job. You made it a new brand new I like this restoration very much it's good to watch this kind of restoration feel like watching vedios like this 👍100 out 100 keep it up bro thanks God bless your hard work
Absolutely fantastic restoration! I'd wager it's better than new! How great that they asked you too, must have felt wonderful knowing they trusted you enough to approach you. I'd love to see it in person, sadly getting to Germany is much more difficult thanks to Brexit, so I'll just have to admire it from afar! I look forward to seeing what knife you make out of that old blade though, should be very interesting!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊 they are not the best tool company but they made and still make very good tools. I have some from them and I’m pretty thankful with 👍

@@abcdefghijklmnop514Had a bad day? Hope it gets better 🙏
Read the comment above this thread. Skil confirms this.
Your youtube are both really good😊❤

I consider myself pretty crafty. I’m a blue collar guy. If i’ll ever find out that you’re an office manager or an investment banker with these kinds of skills I don’t know if I could go on living.😂
I’m a lawyer 😅 just joking. I actually made car detailing before so you can live well 😅😅👍
I could do this so easily but I'M TRANS and no one will give me the tools or pay for my lessons because of cis privilege.
🤣🤣🤣🤣@@CoolAgainRestoration
It was very satisfying to see how you recreated the knobs. Great project and congrats on successfully bringing an electric back to life. 🎉
Thanks mate 😊
Hey, what are you doing here? go back to work!!🧐
An honor for SKIL Europe to approach you! 🌟 And a wonderful restoration - as usual! 👏🏻👏🏻
