I Lived in Jammu in the early 2000s, then moved to southern India. The taste of Rajma from Jammu was something else, havent tasted anything like that after I moved out from there. Thanks Karl for taking me down the memory lane.
Wow, Makes me want to travel from England to Jammu right now to enjoy the scenery and that wonderful dish, despite the fact I’ve just returned from two months travelling around India…. ❤️ India 🇮🇳
@@jaguarunleashed4935 I come for 4-8 weeks every year, so much to see, India is huge, it’s impossible to see everywhere, but I’m trying over the years.
I love rajma. It’s one of my comfort foods, it reminds me of my years in Delhi. Whenever my wife makes her excellent rajma we make extra and invite over or take it to the other Desi families in the neighborhood. Here in the US (at least in our area) it’s very difficult to find a restaurant that makes rajma. Loving seeing this new motorcycle adventure! It looks like you’re having a blast!
I am from Jammu, and I have relished this Rajma Chawal at this exact same place when I was travelling to and from Bhaderwah. My tongue just watered up as I remembered the taste watching this video. So lovely to see Karl enjoying this dish here.

This video showcasing Rajma Chawal in Jammu is a delightful watch! It's amazing how a simple dish like this can bring so much joy and satisfaction. The passion for food and culture shines through in every bite. This truly captures the essence of experiencing local cuisine and culture. Can't wait to try this dish for myself!
You came to my hometown Karl, glad it was a pleasant experience for you. And yes thank you for proving my point that we have the best rajma chawal because i get into lot of quarrels when ever i say this now i have a video as a proof..😀
Jammu region eats rajma alot. There are more than 6 varieties of rajma in our region Famous one is bhaderwahi rajma. Welcome karl. Love from kathua - entry point of jammu and kashmir ❤ Hope you have a safe, enjoyable journey in this untouched region❤
Unfortunately we have had a americans come here and litter everywhere around our little cozy village. I understand that you hate Indians but please don't come to our little villages and ruin it. Just that. Thank you.
I am glad to see that you are enjoying spending time at my hometown and that rajma chawal. Whenever I visit my hometown it's a staple to have it and it's been going on for generations that everyone in my family who visits bhaderwah has to eat rajma chawal at this place.
This has made me hungry. LOVE your videos, Karl. Someday I'll see my mother's home country and travel around even more thanks to watching your content.
I am reliving my moments in J&K seeing your vlogs. Thank you Karl. I was waiting for the Rajma Chawal vlog! (Also, Haha, Just saw you are on Maps, Level 8, can't follow you there!) Anyways okay.

My mum is from Jammu! It's been amazing to see all what it has to offer. I've only been to our house there pretty much. I'll definitely have to give it a proper visit
I'm an American eating Hamburger Helper as I watch this.. Thankful for the food but wish I was in India eating what you are. Maybe one day. America has love for India!
Karl, here's a content idea for you to think about. Have a portion at the beginning of each video that will teach viewers some Hindi that they can use when visiting India. I'm sure you can come up with a good list but some examples I've considered are: Please, thank you, toilet, hotel, help, police. So as not to overwhelm the memory capacity of some you could keep it to 2 somewhat related words per video. Then we could practice those words until your next video.
Love to watch your videos as they are very well planned and executed giving insight into the scenic natural beauty along with local popular food. Travellers can plan their journey keeping in mind of the possible needs.
This area is Baggar and the Rajma is kept on fire for hours together which gives it a thick consistency. This whole area is famous for Anardana(Pomegranate Seeds) which is sour in taste and grows as wildly. Visit in October if u want to see Pomegranate laden trees
No Carl a slow open cooked Rajma/Dal is always going to be 100 times better than the one cooked in pressure cooker. Add wooden stove on top and you are in for a heavenly treat.
Don't miss out on trying "Kaladi" too! This unique variety is only found in Jammu & Kashmir, you won't find it anywhere else in the world. Plus, it boasts a prestigious GI tag from Udhampur. ❤✨
It's nice to see that Pewdiepie is still doing his thing in India. EDIT: Seriously though. I really want to see a video of you and pewdiepie together. That video would be epic.
