Hey guys! This video ended up longer than we expected because we combined the X3 M and X4 M into one video. The driving scenes starts at 20:30 where we begin on the street and then at 29:59 we go onto the track in the X4 M! We really hope you guys like the intro, we took a lot of the feedback from the last few videos and made a few tweaks and the shots of the car and exhaust clips really made the whole thing come together. We came away far more impressed then we thought we would be and we feel a lot of enthusiast looking to replace their M3 or C63 would find a lot to like with this car or really anything in this relatively new small performance SUV segment. Thanks for watching as always everyone! :)

If horsepower in an indication of an M car (it's not, and never has been, its handling and feel WITH HP.), then we should slap M badges on trains and cargo ships. SMH. I want a REAL M back like the 80's-early 2000's.
X3MC is 3.3 with 1 ft. rollout . The actual 0-60 is 3.5 sec. X3M non competition, did 0-60 with 1ft rollout 3.5 and 0-60 no rollout 3.7. X3Mcomp is ~ 0.2 sec faster 1/4 mile too.
Stiff ride in comfort mode is due to the comp package. Same for all the M cars I’ve drove vs to non M version. As far as the 8 speed auto acting like double clutch.... I can’t tell the difference, surprisingly. This vehicle is a true M.

Great review, and it’s a blast to see you having so much fun! On the cars, I’m not an SUV guy, but I really dig the looks of the X3, but not the X4 so much. BMW’s “GT” profile always looks a little weird to me for some reason, which is odd since I normally like hatchbacks.
Great review as usual. I believe some of the things you mentioned are still subjective like you commented on one occassion that the steering needs to be more stiffer whereas, the contrarian have been saying that BMW needs to loosen the steering in their stiffer most setting. Secondly, if you need more exahust sound in the cabin then it may come at the expense of more cabin noise, which is generally more than a Mercedes so I wouldn't want to vouch for that as well. Apart from that an awesome review. I have been a long time viewer of your videos and you have grown tremendously as well. Waiting for the m3/m4 reviews and then the x5m/x6m reviews.
I have the X3 M40i and to get the Launch control to work you disengage the traction control, also Put in Sport Plus. You also see the checkered flag in the middle of the screen after putting your foot on the brake pedal and throttle flat to the floor.. Are you sure you had this come up as launch control is harsher than that. I also had the option of the back rests being adjustable which i went with and cooled seats were optional so cant see the M not having this as well.
BMW charges $300 for 20 years of apple car play and $80 for 1 year. You can do this in the system. I have a 2017 X5 and have not added this functionality. Love the easy this X3 looks, wish you could get an orange or maybe even a blue leather instead of the red, that’s my taste but overall, nicely done BMW!
Great review. Have you considered talking about reliability history of brands/models as well as resale values in 1 or 2 years? With all this tech on board you have to wonder how it will stand the test of time. Also when are manufacturers going offer software updates to the head units (or maybe they do already and I missed the memo).
That's the thing scaring me about these new cars. How long are they going to make all these screens? It's fine if you lease, but what if you're a long term owner.
Always love the X3, especially the M version, but proportionally, this looks a little long. More like a station wagon....just my opinion. Additional cargo capacity isn’t too terribly important to me. Proportions & aesthetics are crucial on a vehicle of that caliber.
웅이 yes. I have them. Huge difference tho - ventilated seats in thebm40i DELETE THE SPORT SEAT!!!!!! I was real pissed as BMW does not tell you during the configuration build. They DO NOT alter the M model seats other than add perforation
@@michaelmesolellaesq they're the same seats in the M40i ventilated vs non ventilated. The difference is, if you get ventilated seats, the side bolsters aren't adjustable. I got ventilated seats too and I never looked back. They can keep their bolsters.
웅이 nope bud, they are different. They have less bolstering on both lower and upper torso. The 4 way lumbar is completely different and there is no adjustment for side bolstering. The seat doesn’t belong in the M40i I almost returned my car. They also have an entirely different up back at shoulders and an entirely different head rest. Look again. Sit agin. It’s also on the website, you can visually see the different on the side view of the interior configurator.
@@michaelmesolellaesq I think you're comparing BMW sport seats to the ones in the M40i.. I was just comparing ventilated vs non-ventilated... they seem to be the same minus the adjustable side bolsters. But then my M40i is a 2018 model so maybe they made some changes to 2019. I agree that the seats aren't very aggressive at all. It took me a solid 3 months to get used to it, especially because of the seats I got used to from my other cars. But I like them now. They're built for comfort and for someone who has a young family, I don't mind.
웅이 I am only discussing the x3m40i seats. There is an ERROR on the configurator: when you select ventilated seats on an m40i, the actual entire seat is different, along with side bolster DELETE. The configurator does not tell you this. Hope that your salesperson does because when the car arrives it’s going to be different. The ventilated seat option changes the sport seats out for a comfort design that does not have the proper bolstering or lumbar for the performance of the vehicle.
Finally a channel that gets right to the meat and potatoes. Most Chanel’s have a big motion picture intro and just blab about who they are and what they do and the back ground of the car. I want to see the car, hear the car, and get in introduction before that shit and then in the end They can have diarrhea of the mouth about who and what they are. Bravo job well done.
@@things4yougaming723 had my m4 for 3 years now and put about 60k miles on it. Never had it breakdown on me and only go in 1-2 times a year for service and oil changes. New BMW's are a lot more reliable and have a lot of safety sensors to prevent any major damage if there is a problem. If you like the car don't let fear prevent you from owning it.
i always wonder why acura or lexus never gave their engines twin turbos , oh wait reliability , but it would be nice to have a J series twin turbocharged DOHC V6 on acura
Great review and I’m digging this model! I agree, this vehicle is specced out perfectly! In the video you mention the leather is red, however on the bmw website this is the only option for leather that comes close “Sakhir Orange/Black Extended Merino Leather”. Is the leather in the vehicle you reviewed a custom red, or is it the Sakhir Orange? Thanks!
Pretty sure the low-speed is standard with the adaptive cruise control ; the 5 series has that built into the adaptive cruise, you turn it on and it automatically chooses the furthest following distance and you can customize that and the speed.
A tuned SQ5, can get to 60 in 3.5 seconds.... used ones also cost less then the X3M and a lot less than the Macan Turbo. But I'm really loving the exterior of the X3M so much more than the Audi SQ5.

What’s your thoughts on this or GLC facelift or possibly the f pace svr?
I can't lie. That x3 m comp is sexy as fuck.
Bravo job well done.
the x4m looks so much better
Best video review out. Thank you.
Unfortunately, in this video, we did not see launch control activated. There is a procedure that is very easy to perform and activate LC.
lack of power tilt/telescoping steering wheel seems a bizarre oversight at this extreme price point.
Sorry but no one needs that... It takes longer to adjust than a manual one.
Because that’s so important
looks way better than my x3, its time to turn in the lease
What is a X3 doing with 500hp haha omg, Acura and Lexus where you at????
All those excess power is immaterial in the real world
Yeah but quick question? How long will it last before being repaired lmao 😂 6 months before you have to go for repairs
They're breathing BMW's dust
i always wonder why acura or lexus never gave their engines twin turbos , oh wait reliability , but it would be nice to have a J series twin turbocharged DOHC V6 on acura
Shove that engine in the new Supra.
Hard to fail with a M Series BMW. Both are awesome vehicles.
Thanks!
It’s crazy to think this car makes more power than the Nissan r35 GT-R when it first came out
I like the x3 better too. Good review! Makes me want one even more now
I Choose The BMW X4 Because Of That Coupe Like Style It Have
My dream car
Pretty sure the low-speed is standard with the adaptive cruise control ; the 5 series has that built into the adaptive cruise, you turn it on and it automatically chooses the furthest following distance and you can customize that and the speed.
Good stuff, RR. Appreciate the info!
That straight six sounds great!
Why did he blur the speed indicator? This car and the Macan Turbo are my dream cars
Which one is better... M X3, S Q5 or the Macan Turbo?
A tuned SQ5, can get to 60 in 3.5 seconds.... used ones also cost less then the X3M and a lot less than the Macan Turbo. But I'm really loving the exterior of the X3M so much more than the Audi SQ5.
@@q2subzero Thank you for the comment. Exactly my case. I really like the MX3 exterior and the interior as well. I was also looking at the Jeep RUBICON, but then I realize that it is a whim from my inner child. X3 will be... or maybe a Q7?
I love this design. Great review as well. And that door slam was perfectly executed.
Another good review dude.
12:52 Lower end of BMW portfolio?!?!?!?!?! an X3 M Competition?!?!?!?! hard plastics for any panels at this level of vehicle is no bueno amigo, period....
SuperAleRC I was surprised to see all that plastic on the dashboard. My 2016 M3 has a full merino leather dash. Disappointing
