    The first ever #BMW SUV was boldly called an SAV back in 2000 when it was introduced as a taller version of the BMW 5-series. Over the years, the #BMWX5 has grown larger and even lost sight of the original mission of being a sports activity vehicle. For 2019, the all-new version of the #X5 is finally here and it finally looks new, drives well, is comfortable and spacious, and has the latest in BMW tech on the inside. Initially available in two flavors, shown here in #X5xDrive40i with a 335 HP #turbocharged straight 6-cylinder engine. It should continue to impress SUV buyers looking for a midsize offering that drives like a sport sedan.

    Happy Monday guys! We're still tweaking and perfecting this new style intro. Hopefully you guys saw it in our last upload on the 2019 NSX but we think it turned out great on this new X5 video. Just wanted to make a quick clarification, BMW still does not offer Android Auto in their vehicles so ignore when Sofyan says it has it. Currently, they only have the wireless Apple CarPlay which we demonstrate in the interior portion of the video. Rumors are saying they will add Android Auto soon but we're not sure when. We apologize for that mistake and thank you all so much for watching!

      Redline Reviews this now looks like a weak attempt to be like savagegeese. Just keep your content original and stop copying Andie the Lab and SavageGeese styles. Or don’t post live videos of these attempts, don’t you have an internal team to get good at it before you splatter your subs with subpar cinematics? Completely tone deaf

      @Ken Shapiro really? what was great about this? why am I cocking my head to look at some of this footage? 626K subscribers and you can't afford to make the content better? Either stop pretending to be Savage Geese or Andie the Lab and just stick to what you know or actually get better. This is what pisses me off about this channel.

    Have you guys ever considered adding nighttime footage to the full reviews? Just to give the perspective of what the vehicles look like at night, especially the head/tail lights etc. and interior lights and those kinds of details... just would be a really nice touch to your already stellar vids.

    I really enjoying watching your reviews Sofyan! You go into great details and give very honest opinions. I don’t always agree with them, however each of us have our own thoughts. I know you review all these great new vehicles that come out, from low end to high end models. The high prices they are asking for these newest editions with all the added features is unreal, but everything goes up. What I’m really interested in is the actual value ( depreciation ) of these vehicles after 3-4 years. And cost of repairs etc. Have you given any thought to doing periodic reviews of some of the vehicles after 5 years ownership, to really give consumers an idea of just how badly they depreciated and their high repair bills? Just a thought! Keep up the great work Sofyan!

    I recently requested a mid-size sedan from a rental agency. They were out, but they gave me a nice upgrade for the same price: a BMW X7 i40! It was awesome! It’s now making me wonder how I might afford one. I would probably opt for this X5 for the modest boost in mileage and slightly better feel, since I would be the lone occupant 90% of the time, while retaining the towing capacity of the X7.

  • @ajlee6933
    @ajlee6933 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    @12:45 Once the X7 was released, BMW discontinued the 3rd row option on the X5. If you want a 3rd row, you’ll have to find a X5 that was built before 3/1/19.
    Also @13:26 that’s not a “rear seat entertainment prep package” (Audi Q7 offers that), instead it’s where you can attach things like an iPAD, laptop, or even hang up a coat.

As a side note for those who don’t know, if you get the 3rd row, the second row will be equipped with motorized reclining and sliding function. Also the 2nd row can be automatically fold down or retracted with a push button on the seat itself and inside the trunk. Hope this help you decide.

    • @ajlee6933
      @ajlee6933 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peter T, that’s because your X5 was built before 3-1-19. Take a look at the sticker when you open your drivers door. It’ll give you the date there.

    • @pt1125
      @pt1125 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      AJ Lee I hate to say this to you but mine was ordered late June. It was put into production mid July and I received it Aug. 15th. The sticker on the car said 07/19 I guess that’s what you’re referring to. 😬

Had to come in every 2,000 miles for new oil because the car would run out. The dealership always gave it to him for free instead of dealing with the issue. It’s almost as if they knew the car was done for but didn’t want to take care of it. It was still under warranty, thank god, but ended up replacing the entire engine at 19,000 miles.

    Great review as always. The camera work and editing is supreme among auto reviewers. You guys are able to make a Corolla an interesting review. I love the new X5. I have the last generation. My reliability have been great after 4 years so I wont be trading it in anytime soon. However this generation have a sharp edge. That was really needed. The last generation was good but if you remove sport mode you are getting close to soccer mom territory. BMW underrates its engines the last gens' 300 hp fells like 330 I suspect this gen 335 feels like 350 hp. Bottom-line great driving SUV all generations mediocre hauling SUV all generations. If you take 4 people on a trip. the people in the back get sedan like room while the front passengers are loving life. BTW the air cooled seats are average.I tried them in Gen 4 and 5 Cadillac beats them and all of the Germans in cooling seats. Generation 4 does not offer cooled seats in the back although they are heated. The dealership told me the latest does not offer cooled back seats. Keep being awesome Redline.

    I'm very impressed by the new generation of BMW cars and SUVs
    Their interiors are finally matching their price tags. And watch out for the 2020 M3!

    These American built X5s had lousy reliability. I had two of them. All kinds of leaks started right after the basic warranties expire. BMW expects everyone to lease their cars, pay huge amounts of interest on the leases and turn them in after 3 years with no equity. They then CPO
    them and make another round of money on them. Interesting business model. Don’t be fooled
    By nice interiors. They are of no use when there are expensive maintenance issues.

      Maybe some American built "monday cars"... or "lemons", like you say in the USA. But I can tell you, that I have completely different experiences with the X5 here in Germany. The X5 is as reliable as every other premium BMW car. I really don't know what you are talking from. There is only one BMW quality control, which has the same level in every production facility. No matter if it's in Regensburg, Dingolfing, München/Germany, or in Spartanburg/South Carolina.

      Reply to SJW Maniac. I appreciate your comments about how well your BMW X5 has worked out for you. My experience with US built X5 spans 10 years of ownership and I am sorry to say I do NOT share your experience and we just agree to disagree. Also, I want to acknowledge the great videos that Redline Reviews has always done for the benefit of the US automotive community.
