The key detail is missing - you have to have your engine off, otherwise it will just fold/unfold normally. Maybe it's not on all cars, but on some this is the case
It worked on my kia optima 2013. Thank you so much. My autofold gear broken, and it made annoying sound whenever i lock/unlock the door. I did it while engine not running, L/R side mirror selection not selected/pressed. Press the 'up' button and 'folding mirror' simultaneously. Folding motor will be running, keep holding the buttons until the motor gave up. Good luck
My 2017 Toyota Avensis has the power folding mirrors but only open and close when I press the button. Is there a way to make it work when locking and unlocking?
Hello, I must say that I have never thought about what it actually is before, but in my opinion it is a car security element, specifically, if I am not mistaken, the immobilizer and its LED
Hello, if you use the same procedure as I showed once it should be on if you do it second time it will be off. If it's not working it means that your car does not have this option. Regards and feel free to subscribe ;)
Hi, I would yes or maybe :) Just give it a try and you will see. You can not brake anything. Oh by the way - do it when the engine is not running and car is not "on standby". Regards and feel free to subscribe :)
Hello Jacob :) The switch - if it's on or off? In Camry 2019 it is simple because there are three different switch positions. In Auris however I would say there are not :) There is a button you can use to close mirrors manually but this is only a button not a switch. So if you use "my procedure" when the mirrors are folding automatically - you will disable the meachism. If you do it again - you turn it on. I hope it helps. Regards and fell free to subscribe :)
Hello! I'm not sure if I know what you are asking about - are these settings only for the right mirror? If you ask about it - no :) This is how you turn on and off the folding of both mirrors at the same time :) Regards and feel free to subscribe! ;)

@@ginovannelpawiroastro4076 Hello, this is not a nice answer, but unfortunately the description you give probably indicates a failure of the mirror control mechanism. If the right mirror works normally - it opens and closes, then the left mirror should behave exactly the same. While still under warranty in the Toyota car service, I had both mechanisms replaced and they work flawlessly all the time. As for the mechanism, you would have to get inside the mirror by removing its housing painted to match the color of the body.
