Since the dlc came out ive been invaded just over a dozen times. Different people with different weapons, buffs, armor, but one thing was consistent amongst them all; AoW spam. Not a single light, heavy, or dual swing to speak of. The AoWs look too cool and feel too cool to not use constantly and thats why people cant help but mash the AoW button.
yea definitely a double edged sword, would be nicer if ashes of war were originally designed to be part of combos or things like that instead of their own seperate thing
Why I never bothered touching Elden rings pvp because it was just spell spam and aow spam, unlike any other soulsborne game where you can actually get some parries and light combos in

God the Rakshasa’s armor is the sickest fucking thing. It’s like, just the right kind of edgy. And the Death Knight armor is no slouch either. There’s so much awesome fashion from the dlc.
death knight armor was a missed opportunity. could have had ethereal cape type thing like dancers crown from ds3 or the shadow assassin armor from elden base game. Just saying because when death knights wear the armor they have a ethereal translucent looking cape. but when you put on the armor it doesnt have that same cape. was disappointing for me.

i mean the ash of war swift slash for siding with hornsent isa obviously the better reward. but then you also get leda's lacerating talisman which enhances dash attacks. so could also be used with this build to make it even stronger. not sure if swift slash can be charged. if not then id say lord mohgs blood talisman, winged insignia/millicents pros talisman, and then the leda's lacerating talisman to furthere enhance the dash attack would be great. lacerating will probably give you more damage then using godfreys talisman. but then again you can go winged AND millicents and just test to see which of those 5 nets more dmg. godfreys only applies if the skill can be charged.

If you didn't know, the rolling sparks WA for the perfume bottles creates a line of explosions that detonate after a bit, but if you aim it at the floor it all goes off at once. Super strong and capable of making very simple 1 shot builds for the DLC bosses.

Been having a blast countering people using swift slash with the new scythe’s skill Dynastic Sickleplay. The s on it guarantee invincibility through the entire attack and if you unlock and tilt the stick correctly you can follow up if they try to use the ash of war back to back with a heavy. Highly recommend giving it a go sometime. Tricky to pull off if someone delays their Swift Slash spam though
Apparently there's a scaling bug with the smithscript weapons that makes their damage ridiculous via flame art infusion(basically 500 base damage with both flame and physical damage getting boosted by the same amount from faith scaling alone) so imagine swift slash on the smithscript cirques and anyone who survives you can just yeet at em till they panic roll themselves into a bad spot.
Also seems to happen with magic infusion? My smithscript cirque apparently has a higher AR than the dark moon greatsword (810 vs 775) undoubtedly going to be patched in the future
@liam6550 I think it has to do with the fact that the smithscript weapons have int/faith scaling built in so when an infusion changes the scaling its counting that scaling for the physical dmg more than it should be.

I invaded into a 3 man earlier today, and they were just standing around in perfectly open ground, all 3 with swift slash. I lasted about 10 seconds. Blocked all 3 after that.
I seriously hope this gets at least a slight nerf. I stg everytime I start winning a match in PvP colosseum they always pull this shit out and it NEVER misses. Even if you dodge the initial slash the slashes after are a guaranteed roll catch. 0 skill required. Should have never been added.

The worst part about this being broken is that it's going to take two patches for the Blind Spot ash of war to get nerfed. One fore people to realize it's the next best thing, and another to bring THAT one into line as well lol.
Yup already know they will overlook blind spot because of how ridiculously dumb this aow is. With blind spot You can literally reaction an opponents attack like you would a roll but also deal damage
8:35 I don’t think they realize that they’re using the wrong dragon form to boost attacks, it’s the ROCK form that boosts communion incants and then the priestess form that they’re using that boosts dragon CULT incants- and you might as well use the Godwyn death knight armor for that
Pro tip: miquellas light still channels even if knocked out of animation. Spam it in front and itll completely counter this weapon and everything else melee
A quick but balanced nerf to this is to remove any stagger effects and increase dwell time end lag so it’s not too easy to combo. But it’ll keep it fun to use for a while
Someone tried this, didn't have the same loadout, but i was far enough away, and i could assume lag had something to with it. Broski took a full charge of the dragons spear to the face on a rainy night. Didn't get invasion until i hung up my controller.
From Software: Adds a Talisman in the game that makes Backdashes have i-frames, gives it a debuff so you take 25% more damage as a result to balance it. Also From Software:
another DLC ash of war is possibly just as broken.....the rolling sparks on the lightning perfumers bottle weapon. On the right build, when free aimed close range, it one shots even those with 80 vigor and Radhan's great rune. Use Endure, get close, hit them with the ash of war, pvp fight over.
I’ve been invaded with that build and how I counter it is with the frost storm they dash right in the middle and eat the full frost bite and you can react fast enough to charge it
There’s one more Ash of war on the collosol sword it’s a Str/Int weapon which travels long distance and seems broken too and sadly no one is talking about it.
I run around a corner or roll behind cover and spam Mohgs Trident AoW while my buddies hurl lightning spears when I finally get a stagger/bloodloss. Only way I’ve ever survived 😂
@@fckoff3203 I've tried, the problem is that the animation looks like it gives u room to attack right after they use the AOW, but, they get to roll before most attacks on a colossal go off at the end of it. You have to pre-buffer your attack and HOPE that the other person didn't charge the aow or it'll go behind u. Since its not a fixed distance every time it's quite hard to figure just where u have to try to catch em. P broken aow

Bloodhound step actually works to get away from the ghost slashes if you manage to dodge the initial weapon strike. So that’s kinda funny. I guess I’ll put that back on my offhand misericorde for now, even though I like quickstep much better for reverse step backstabs. Ah the life of an invader, constant counter play against whatever fresh hell gankers find to abuse. I don’t think I’ll use this ash of war. For more than one day. 😈
Had some try hard scrub invade my new STR build character try to spam that and I bullied him with good old great sword. lol Happened in Storm Veil castle at least 3 or 4 times before he just started disconnecting whenever he realized he was in my game. XD

can be interrupted. he even got interrupted in one of the fights he clipped in the video. it can also be parried.

Pro tip: miquellas light still channels even if knocked out of animation. Spam it in front and itll completely counter this weapon and everything else melee

A quick but balanced nerf to this is to remove any stagger effects and increase dwell time end lag so it’s not too easy to combo. But it’ll keep it fun to use for a while

another DLC ash of war is possibly just as broken.....the rolling sparks on the lightning perfumers bottle weapon. On the right build, when free aimed close range, it one shots even those with 80 vigor and Radhan's great rune. Use Endure, get close, hit them with the ash of war, pvp fight over.

I can only see maybe the rott or some aoe to counter this if you can react strategic enough or get on good dragon bite in for 3 k damage. Risky
I feel like Fromsoft took some inspiration from Lords of the Fallen with some of the designs for armors / weapons in the DLC.
unfortunately the cerulean hidden tear was nerfed in the first patch for the DLC. Now it only last 10 seconds.
I’ve been invaded with that build and how I counter it is with the frost storm they dash right in the middle and eat the full frost bite and you can react fast enough to charge it
There’s one more Ash of war on the collosol sword it’s a Str/Int weapon which travels long distance and seems broken too and sadly no one is talking about it.

Just dodge roll into it then backwards but the average platee dosnr dodge roll they panick roll
I run around a corner or roll behind cover and spam Mohgs Trident AoW while my buddies hurl lightning spears when I finally get a stagger/bloodloss. Only way I’ve ever survived 😂
If there exist flying power o some way to hide underground, You can't avoid this attack, it's Broken
Whenever I see someone using this is duels, I just go afk. Theres literally no counter to this, so I dont even bother trying.
What about the fire knight greatsword? That 2 shots and doesn't colossal weapons give you hyper armor or something like that?
@@fckoff3203 I've tried, the problem is that the animation looks like it gives u room to attack right after they use the AOW, but, they get to roll before most attacks on a colossal go off at the end of it. You have to pre-buffer your attack and HOPE that the other person didn't charge the aow or it'll go behind u. Since its not a fixed distance every time it's quite hard to figure just where u have to try to catch em. P broken aow

people have parried it. can easily sort out the noobs spamming it and someone whos actually experienced using it. but it can be beaten.
Bloodhound step actually works to get away from the ghost slashes if you manage to dodge the initial weapon strike. So that’s kinda funny. I guess I’ll put that back on my offhand misericorde for now, even though I like quickstep much better for reverse step backstabs. Ah the life of an invader, constant counter play against whatever fresh hell gankers find to abuse. I don’t think I’ll use this ash of war.
