Mount Yunam (6110 meters) is one of the trekking peaks in the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh. The peak becomes accessible once the Rohtang pass (13,000 feet) opens i.e., around the last week of May.
The Bharatpur tent colony (4200 meters) act as the roadhead for the trek. The region is obviously very cold and one should go prepared.
The trek is for those who have already done moderate level treks (Mount Kanamo, Friendship peak and similar treks) and few high altitude passes (Manerang pass, Pin Parvati pass). This is OBVIOUSLY NOT for beginners.

Thanks man. 🙂 I think I can never prioritise a peak over a person's life. 🙂 I can climb that mountain again but cannnot bring a person back to life. So, it was quite an easy decision. 🙂

My father's health isn't good and lot unnecessary pressure to get married as I am 28 years old (which makes no sense at all). So, I really don't know when will I be able to go to Manali.

- Do i need to carry my Climbing Boots with Crampons.?

But it is possible if we put all our mind and skill into it.
So I recently came back from Pin Parvati Pass. This somewhat resembled the same.
This definitely is an add on in my bucket list.

That's so awesome. Could you please tell me about Todd's Giant peak. I believe its nearby. Any new name of the peak?

@@Creedaz Hi I am sorry, actually that's mentioned in CG Bruce tour to Lahaul and Spiti in 1914. They named the peak near Yunam Tso as Todd's Giant, on the name of their companion Captain Todd. They mentioned that Todd's Peak was a snowy peak of around 20,000 feet or more in altitude. And near Yunam Tso I can find only to peaks above this altitude. One is Mt. Yunam itself and other is unnamed.

@@Creedaz I have a feeling that Mt. Yunam is Todd's Giant, but I am not sure. That book hai images of Todd's Giant. Would have to find some Yunam pictures and compare

This is a normal trek and NOT an expedition. Do a norm google search and you will find the details.
