I have the Boss 25 after the break in of the gas spring and the magazine springs the gun runs flawless! The only down fall of the Boss 25 is the stock which is absolute garbage, I had mine machined modified and now I put on an adjustable stock. I'm wondering if Boss 30 stock can be removed? if so will it be able to be swaped out with an justable stock. If so then the Boss 30 will rule! The reason why is the barrel spring, the only other mag gun that has a barrel spring gas system is the MAC F12 formally the Typoon F12, the price for the MAC F12 is under 400. Check that Boss 30 stock see if you can remove it and replace it with an adjustable stock if so you won't regret that upgrade! Much better choice than the VR80 and 10x better than the Panzer AR12
I'll pull it out later tomorrow afternoon and check it. i'm pretty sure it's removable. its synthetic, the upper and lower are 7075 aluminum, Ive got a break down on it some where as well, its more like the california boss 25 which i almost ordered. but then found the Boss 30... Legac sent me both versions in pdf format if i find them in email i'll send you a copy if you want
and yes I almost bought the Panzer G2 looked hard at the VR80 and the Silver Eagle, but the Boss reviews were selling me every time because of how many bought it and all their experiences.. my only issue was the 5 round mags , the shells got stuck at the indentions , 2 3/4 shells slid forward some. but thats been solved, i just need to watch and make sure i've got them pushed all the way back while loading, and yes i use High Brass... no other issues .... i've got about 20 or so more rounds to hit 50 rnd break in.. sorta procrastinating some watching the issues that are unfolding around us and leery of popping a bunch off and be left high n dry in an emergency.
I couldn't stand it any longer thinking about it, took about 5 minutes to get it out of the safe unboxed and separated , Loving that part of it... it is Threaded on and it has a bolt through the center just like the boss 25 , the 30 has a ring with sling slots between the stock and the lower frame , it has an allen head screw, so all together it has one long bolt with a round Keeper inside the frame similar to a buffer spring , no pin and spring for a buffer spring to retain it if a buffer system is installed. 2 screws one at the lower of the stuck butt rubber pad remove that, remove the long bolt through the center and the allen head on the sling ring then unscrew unscrew the stock ... question is i'm looking at my aci 15 and the tube looks smaller so there might need to be an adapter made to accommodate a collapse able stock i'm not sure. i dont see any way to upload pics so thats going to require making a video tomorrow ..... I paid $405 plus tax $435 out the door, the boss 25 was $359 I saw only plus plus signs it's Ambidextrous on all the controls , charging handle, mag release, bolt release, fire and safety and all metal except for the stock, grip and spring loaded flip up sights.
i'm running 2 3/4" 1360 fps #5 steel shot, no issues no feed ramp up issues with the 10 round mags, the 5 round mags are extremely tight feed ramp has issue if you don't get the brass pushed fully against the rear of the mag.... the indentions on the mag sides stop the feed, essentially your shells are stuck because of the lower shell getting hung up....... just load your mags , unload repeat the process to break them in , there's a bunch a tension on the springs so load them full and let them set a week then repeat the process .... 5 round mags are extremely tight, buy a couple 10 round mags and you'll be happy while breaking in the 5 round mags... For the price this gun is an excellent choice... read or watch reviews on the vr80, panzer g2, silver eagle... the Boss 25 reviews of the synthetic version kept me interested, when i saw the Boss 30 and the price I was sold on it. BTW use High Brass to break your gun in 1300 FPS or higher - not 1500 while using the Low pressure weight. 1500 FPS or higher for the High pressure weight...
This is the newest version Boss, came out Jan 2024, I didnt find it till July and then the search was on for information, Legacy sent me both versions on the Boss 25, the California version and the rest of the states version manuals... Pretty good people they'll answer any questions you might have before purchasing one locally.. Which I had to order mine through an FFl shop and their dealer had it. took 7 days from purchase to possession.... 3 day background check and shipping time. Well worth the wait I might add.
