Awesome video man. Just ordered my 3p kit with bags and was going to pay quite a bit to get it installed but after watching this you gave me the confidence to do it myself! Made it seem so simple and not so intimidating. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything.
little tip for the compressor cutouts: the pieces look symetrical so you could put the left one on the right side if there arent any tools in there anyway so it will look cleaner :)
Just got bags for my magnum and never done them before but with your video and how simple you made it to how it is in my head makes me confident enough to do it myself. Thanks for the video
Great installation video, very thorough and complete. It is of particular interest to me as I was considering replacing the YellowSpeed coilovers on my S55 AMG to these air bag systems. However, Amanda's honest assessment of the ride quality of this system is causing me to rethink the move. The harsh ride of my current coilovers - despite the many damping settings, etc, is the main reason I was looking at going for the air bag system. However, there doesn't seem to be any improvement with it.
adjust the strut height. It's stiff because you are running too much air pressure and the bags can only hold so much and will end up tearing the bags over too much stress. I believe that you should not be running more than 100 for that light of car. You can also swap out to different types of bags like triple bellows which gives more lift while being comfortable.
@@idrisu1 depends on the vehicle, but all bags have a max psi of 160 so staying around 75 to 110 is cool. To me, I think exceeding over 100 psi is a lot just because you have to account for the corner weight of the vehicle when you go up and down driveways. I ran 95 and 80, car felt stiff enough and pressure would shoot up to 120 when going up driveways.
@@theederominus yeah lol sorry I forgot to reply for over a year🤣but went well, me and my buddy installed em. We had a small leak in the front right strut but fixed it by putting some more teflon on. Little over a year later and still love em.
@@braxtonnnnn how often you get the tires aligned? And what did you follow in this video? I got a tray in my trunk not sure if I must take that out? And did you build it around the spare tire or within the trunk?
@@theederominus I’d get it aligned maybe every 6 months, it will eat your tires up within 10,000 miles if not lol. And we pretty much did it step by step how this video did except I didn’t install 2 compressors so it was a little easier. And we put the management system where the spare tire goes and took the tire out completely. Also I keep a tool bag in my trunk sometimes and it’s fine as long as you’re not taking turns too fast so it won’t slam against the tank. I also put my compressor in the trunk on top rather than under with the management and lines.
on a car with a battery in the trunk, like a miata, would it be a bad idea to cut the harness to size? or should i just zip tie the wires up and hide em
to stay safe i'd use zip-ties, but if you can practice soldering and gain enough skill you should cut the wire to save space and make your wiring look a bit more simple and just nice in general
So I only have one question. When you run the lines from the manifold to the air strut itself or airbag whichever you may have. Do the length of the hoses have to be equal so that everything airs up equally
I'd like to see a video of installing air-ride using second hand parts - a kind of FrankenAir 😁😁 I have a 1985 Rover SD1 and am considering using bits of a Range Rover, maybe bits of Lexus etc etc......
Hi @BeaKhan, thanks for the vids. Should I air up the compressor for the first installation? And can you send a link if where can I buy air suspension kit for my Dodge Avenger 2011? Thanks a lot. I'm so excited to install mine.
Odd question. After installing, since the bags have no air in them, when you take the car off the jack stands how is it not on the ground? Do you fill the struts up before taking it off the jack stands?
Because I’m not a professional mechanic and have never done suspension work before? Took longer with running lines to make sure I ran them right and hidden
@@demineon4966 did you put them through the firewall for the front? I wasn’t saying why like that , sorry. I meant like is it really easy to wire it? I got a trunk tray , so I wondered how that would even work? Did you use the space around your spare tire to place yours or was it more harder than that?
It definitely depends on your suspension set up, what brand and struts and how you dampen them. there are a lot of people that race with their air suspension, you definitely cannot beat coil overs when it comes to what is better on the track but I like to drive hard around corners and I can confidently say my suspension held up pretty well for spirited driving.
@@franchisefred4066 that’s not true like at all😂I have 3p airlift performance suspension on my 2020 mustang gt and I track my car, Drift my car, Go 160 mph in my car with absolutely no issues.. If anything the air ride is better performance wise then my oem suspension
@@franchisefred4066 That’s not true… Cody Miles is running an air ride STI in Global Time Attack. Setting lap records and winning his class multiple times. Also, the Risky Devil crew is entirely on air, as far as I know.
only if you camber in the top plate all the way, then you need to to bang out the metal to make clearance. But if you just throw air suspension in without much negative camber, your good to go lol
@@beakhan for me they ride the same. With airlift you would have to hammer the strut tower for clearance when you air out. Went with airtekk due to it being a inch smaller in diameter, so hammering isn’t necessary.
there is a water trap between the tank and manifold my guy haha. I quickly mentioned it but it was hidden behind the trim panel. There was a quick shot of it
imo there is a big difference. Yes you can use your phone to control your car but also it is much easier to navigate through the presets, settings and it has some little features that the v2 doesnt have. It all comes down to personal choice though, some people im sure prefer the v2 for the simplicity!

what about the strut adjustments? how'd you do that? I noticed you didn't show that part. seems like that would be critical, no?

exactly what i was gonna say, improper strut height to bag pressure for ride height causing a bad ride.
how much air do you recommend @ ride height?

So what was the solution to the rear struts being so stiff?
Hi. I appreciate your help 👏👏
Any suggestions on a kit for my 2010 explorer sport Trac adrenalin ? Tks
I have BCs and I want to switch. Is this worth it? Can I still drive hard? Like track, drift and daily?
I would say it should be fine for daily and, track. But drifting might do some damage to the bags.

You should have put the terminals and fuse holders on after you fed the wires through would have made it so much easier.
Im having trouble trying to find a fuse to tap into, whichever one I try, either doesn’t power or doesnt turn off when I turn off my car
i usually go with either the cigarette lighter or wiper fuse
Is the ride more smooth with airlift set up??
i prefer airlift over these struts we installed.

soon brotha real soon🙌🏼
Do the struts have air in them when installed?
Do you have to remove wheel well liners so it can sit flush to the ground?
Depends on how low you want to go
Where did you get the diagram?
Im kinda new to the whole air suspension thing etc, can you comfortably drift woth em or would i be better off just getting coilovers

What are the exact models for both those air suspensions?
Did you put on adjustable end links with it? Or did you keep the OEM ones?
