I just realized why I liked the first half of this movie - and who Cooper reminds me of: Riddick from Pitch Black.
Less action oriented, perhaps, but both of them have a reputation for being brutal killers, a fearsome capacity for intellect and strategic-planning, and a significantly apathetic personality.

One of the first modern American movies that actually looks like what a high quality modern movie should look like. Sayombhu Mukdeeprom’s techniques and mastery of light and shadow really shines here in the subtlest of ways. There are scenes where Josh Hartnett’s face is lit so his eyes go completely black when he leans back into a certain mark. Incredible stuff, this movie doesn’t deserve the hate it gets

    • @Hasifu
      @Hasifu 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

@@techboy2002 if you haven’t already I would encourage you to watch movies by writer/directors like Yorgos Lanthimos or Wes Anderson for the dialogue style. Theirs is very similar but their narratives are usually a larger deviation from reality, so their dialogue styles are overlooked. A lot of people write off Shyamalan’s dialogue as clunky and obtuse, but I think that’s an unjust stigma. I think his dialogue is purposefully written to be off putting to take an audience out of their comfort zone, as well as being an additional fictive layer to create a greater suspension of disbelief for narratives that supposedly take place in our everyday life

Look how after he gave her the password to make her less defiant, the female agent stops blinking ! He's HYPNOTIZED her. And she's actually the same agent who closes the door of the SWAT van at the end of the movie (probably leaving the door unlocked for him)
Also, notice how at the end of this scene, when he looks back, there are like 15 agents on the roof ! That's because the ones he was hiding from with his powers weren't showed until now, to make us understand how he feels when he's in his stealth mode : Shyamalan wasn't showing us the agents who didn't notice him (AKA : MOST of them)
Cooper has psychic powers, and it's a sequel to Glass. Prove me wrong.

No offense, but that will be a serious let down if they just make him another serial killer stereotype in the sequel.
The movie's first half works because during the concert scenes, he's not being a serial killer - no, he's being Jason Bourne (but slow-paced).
The knowledge of his identity as a vicious psychotic serial killer made the context unique; and seeing him crank his brain-gears trying to think of a escape route kept us hooked.

Complete trash. What is wrong with directors and writers? Why do they hate us so much that they write this nonsense and simply ignore obvious plot realities. ALL THE COPS know what he looks like. Literally at no single moment does anyone just say "hey that's him". Why would ROOFTOP SNIPERS NOT KNOW WHAT THE ONE GUY THEY'RE LOOKING FOR LOOKS LIKE

Nothing about this movie makes sense. The plot armor is worse then game of thrones. Really really bad movie

  •  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

i absolutely cannot find any reason for this movie to exist other than to give the directors daughter exposure for her own music career, its lame and tacky.
the whole plot is pointless, so much missing exposition everywhere.
plus the main character focus shifts over to the pop star and becomes even more lame, she just becomes the hero of the story by doing a live stream.
this movie was just a father to daughter token, basically a nepo resume

At least you were honest enough to admit YOU cannot find any reason.
Just because you can't find it, doesn't mean there isn't any.
At this point i'd give you the secret twist of the movie so you might enjoy it, but your pretentious rant made you uneligible.

@@Jessa-yk7seAnd that’s why Night no longer has to put up his own $ to make a film. He’s an eccentric and unique film maker. People are always going to come to see what he’s bringing each time. I can’t think of any of his films that aren’t love-hate ones. Even Sixth Sense had its haters. Hubs and I love Trap. It’s outside Night’s usual twisty signature, has a playful streak in the cat and mouse game, and has a terrific out of the box performance from Josh Hartnett. It has flaws for sure but still 4* from us.
