When I got into Sony, their A-mount 35 1.4 was the most expensive they had, at $900, and I thought that was ridiculous. $1400 may sound reasonable nowadays, but let's not forget what else you could buy for that in the real world.
Hello sir. Do you personally prefer shooting with this 35GM or the Batis 40mm f2? I am understanding of the differences in apertures, focal length, and close focusing differences. But as a walk around lens, what is your preferential opinion? Thank you.
Thank you. That answers my question perfectly. I had heard about the focusing issues with the 40mm Zeiss batis and was going to pull the trigger, until this lens was released. Thank you again.
Did you compare this lens to the Sigma F1.2. Well you just mentioned that you did. Other than the F1.2 Sigma being a larger heavier lens and slightly heavier which lands produce the best and most accurate sharpest photos the Sigma or the Sony? In your opinion that is
I didn't do a comparison but I think this would be quite interesting to do one! I just don't have the lenses anymore 😅 Preferably, I would go for the Sony in terms of sharpness and best in terms of colour reproduction. With that being said, the Sigma is still a great lens IF you really need that F1.2 aperture.
Sounds like a great lens, but the shipment date here in the US, has been pushed out a couple of times, due to "production issues", whatever that means. I believe this is already available in parts of Asia.
commenting for John's pretty face! and also his content. but on the serious side 35mm my favourite lens length. and f1.4 has such nice bokeh butteriness. if that makes sense haha but too poor for this lens haha

Fantastic work as usual, JS! Love the model @6:03! Thanks!
Thanks RM! ✌️😊
Very informative review buddy! Thanks!
5:54 wait, they both have bad focus breathing?

To be honest, I do like the 35GM better. It's also faster to focus and rarely misses the shot compared to the 40mm.

Yeah it was delayed in Australia too but I did get a message from one of my subs in Europe got their copy already.
This or the 24mm gm? Great video btw
Thank you! It depends what you want to shoot to be honest. I personally like the 35mm F1.4 GM because it's not too wide.
FIRST! Here for John Sison!
Would love to own this lens, thanks for the honest review John
@@ronnbizzy You're welcome mate!! And a late congrats on being first! hahaha

Its expensive here, 1699 euro
Ouch! That is a bit more on the expensive side. I wonder why cause in Australia, the lenses are usually more expensive.
@@JohnSisonPhotography Thats why i will not buy it. We always get the shitty prices here in europe
