I'm a little late to the party, but thought I'd add a couple comments. The '77, '78, and '79 Ranchero, Cougar, LTD II, Thunderbird, and Mark V all shared the same chassis, which was basically a Torino. 460 and C6 are pretty much a bolt-in. (E4OD also with very little mods). Torino (and some Mustang) headers same. Nobody has mentioned the Cougar grille swap. I bought the LTD II version for a 460 swap for myself, but some random dude decided that he didn't want to check his mirrors for a lane change and totalled it. I thought about replacing it with a T-bird or a Mark, but never did. So many projects, so little time.
No Headers ? That's weird .if it ran 12 flat that's moving on for a big boat like that . I for one would like to see it run now you know just to see if could be the sleeper that it could be .. a guy could make some cash if it can even get close to 12 flat . I think people would think it's a 18 car at best .
I agree that it needs headers, but a big block car with a healthy solid lifter cam, built trans with a stall converter, and 4.56 gear will be a bit quicker than 18 second quarter mile. Add the nitrous, I'm sure it would surprise some people.
Loved the car and the video Jeff Nevers

Front end is not 78 Rancheroo 👀
What is the front end from?
Mercury Cougar. I saw one that had a Thunderbird front end on it, 👍👍
