Wow, a ton of fab work. Its an underrated collector/classic car. When done correctly, they are amazing. I've had mine since 2004 and its evolved into a drag and drive street rod that sees car shows and Hellcat street races. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Granddad had one in split~pea green, searchlight on passenger side and a pull rope on the back of front seat to assist rear seat passengers when getting out of car. Remember it fondly from my 1950s childhood.

I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE EEC IN ANY OF MY FORDS. THEY LAST FOR A LONG TIME BUT DO GO BAD NOT OFTEN

Beautiful car, gotta love green. You need to fix that trunk lid, it's killing your look. My '70 Charger had paint chipping away from the same spot on the lower right corner...if the trunk lid fitment isn't correct, it'll damage the paint and let moisture in, and rust will form.

I'm doing a 2003 SL500. I'm gutting everything except the Mercedes radiator and fans, header tank, gas tank, HVAC system, and power door functions. I'm swapping chassis and engine harnesses and those will be wired into the new harness. I'm eliminating the ABC pump system and adding a vacuum diaphragm for the brakes. Coil overs and AMG brakes. I'm doing a true SuperLight and I'm trying to remove 800-1000 lbs. The roof is going to be carbon fiber and one piece, in a fixed position. I've already fixed the quarter windows into a permanent up position by removing the motor assemblies and making aluminum brackets that bolt up where the motors did. I'm doing a GT3 style widebody with all carbon fiber panels except for the doors. I'm hoping to meet the weight reduction without it but may concede in the end. Fixed back carbon fiber seats and removal of the mechanical rollbar, pumps, reservoirs, lines, fluid etc. takes out a lot of weight by itself. The R230 is a great chassis, it was just an over weight/over complex car from the factory. It's surprising there aren't more LS swapped Mercedes, but there seems to be a lot in the Philippines and Thailand. They are dirt cheap there compared to other brands. CB Media covers a lot of meets there and modified/swapped Mercedes are regulars at many shows.

Nice. I had a 63 slant six that I bought for fifty bucks. It needed a battery. We had a field car that had a battery in it that we had to jump start and I was low on bucks so I grabbed it. Figured I could charge it by driving it around. That night my buddies were ragging on me to do a burn out. The only way I could do that was a neutral start and I stalled it. Battery wouldn't start it. I told them to push me and they said you can't start an automatic by pushing it. You can this one if you can get me up to 25 mph. Sure enough we got it started. Good video.
