I don’t think that’s a “THC users” stereotype. I think most people live this way. I think the number was like over 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and I can guarantee you that the amount of weed smokers is way way less than 70%. This is just dumb finances

I was thinking the same thing, I’ve used THC for about 5-10 years a lot through my teenage years and am trying to kick it now. Kids are different, some kids need more time. We don't know whether he has some sort of physical or mental issues. Even a stressful living situation can cause it (and even when she looks chill, not being able to do minimum payments IS stressful, especially for those who act like they don't care)
@@amandawithlov3908that’s admittedly a generous read but you could be right. In that situation though that puts an even greater burden on her finances. The care that a child with developmental difficulties requires can’t be sustained by selling weed on cash app.
As someone who smoked weed for 20 years I’ll go on record and say: a “stigma” around parents and smoking weed is in MOST cases legitimate. Be a clear minded adult and raise your kids proper. I’ve seen a lot of stoner parents neglect their kids and act like absolute morons who are utterly incapable or properly raising their kids.
Fully agree. Weed is most cases is not for the unmotivated and smoothed brain. Most of the population is retarded to begin with, they don't need a sedative lol
It's legitimate in this case. They're both completely negligent about their finances. Its one thing if you cant work or don't make enough, but she's literally unemployed and selling weed on the side as a "business"
not to mention, smoking weed &/or using cbd can be an incredibly expensive hobby and should be avoided especially when in massive debt and with children who would benefit more from that money, i.e. to pay off their school or their haircuts. In terms of parent use of marijuana “stigma” there is a difference between 50 y/o parents of adults smoking weed with their extra income and a mother of 2 kids under 4 who is in debt smoking weed. also factor in the money spent on all those snacks/food orders when you get the munchies - it ain’t cheap and neither are kids, difference is you have a responsibility to take care of and provide for kids, not to have a THC habit.
@@zbest-one It's legitimate most of the time. Either because it's financial negligence or outright nothing that aids with child care and very commonly hinders it. She is proof why CPS will NEVER be on board with parents and mothers using what she’s selling, and rightly so. What’s worrisome is how she is imprinting onto her children this checked-out, unmotivated, nonsensical, nonchalant version of herself during the most critical years of their childhood💔

That constant smirk is so frustrating. I'm 99% sure she's high. Imagine her kids watching this later in life thinking the mom doesn't really care about their future. Caleb shows incredible patience.

She only came on the show to advertise her failing business. And for the record Mama Jane, the stigma surrounding moms who are in an altered state (high or drunk) supposedly caring for their kids is justifiable and unlikely to change.
My best friend’s mom is an extreme alcoholic. I couldn’t possibly despise anything more than when mothers live substances more than their own children. Ive seen what its done to him, he is an absolute saint, only wants to help his mom, has housed her, payed for her, supported her in every way aside from enabling her habits, and she steals from him to go but beer. I know it hurts him deeply, but all he ever says about it is, “thats my only mom, ill never get another one.” This woman cant stay sober for an hour to be a respectable guest
So then should no one with kids be allowed to have a beer ever? Literally anything can be an addiction that affects your responsibilities in life. Gambling, sex, even social media. Demonizing pot or any substance is so far removed from the core issue of addiction.
@@user-nd5mh2fb6m You make a fair point. In general "high" or "drunk" implies indulging until your judgement is impaired. One beer may not do that for some. If it does, you can always get child care.
Her saying her degree is a backup reminds me of the girl saying med school was her back up. Not sure if i'm the delusional one but that makes NO sense to me
This is actually something I disagree with Caleb on. I also had a degree as a “backup.” If we set aside the guests bs for a second, what we’re hearing her say is she really wants to take a run at building a CBD business that will work, but the degree will be good to have because 1. It will help her get a job to make money to support herself and the business and 2. starting a business like that is a risky venture not all that likely to succeed enough to be a full time career, so you most likely will stay full time at whatever else you get from your degree. Very different than medical school as a backup, which is obviously an intensely difficult, expensive, and long field to get into that just absolutely be your full vocation to achieve.
@@adamseidel9780 I understand what you're saying but her reasoning is counter to that. She says the degree is her back up, yet only "works" on the business once a month when she has time between school and home making.. so in reality the CBD is her backup. She could be going full bore in the CBD business now, not do school and racking up greater debt/time suck, and if the business succeeds then keep it up. If it fails, then she could dedicate her energy towards a degree. Just saying... She's basically admitting it would be NICE to have a successful small business but she's already planning for it to fail 🤷♂️
Caleb nailed it: 1 day a month for $400 isn’t even a side hustle yet, it’s a mildly profitable hobby, like somebody who collects sneakers but also tends to make a little profit over time when buying and selling them.

42:37 I’m 25, and my core memories are literally my parents dealing with debt. My father lost his eyesight after working in tech (Silicon Valley), and I’d listen to my mother, running a daycare, cry when the washing machine break down. I barely remember the private school in elementary school. Yes the lessons were a great foundation for my education, but you two parents can look up the learning strategies and give your kids extra homework. They’ll hate it until they’re older. Btw my mom is an incredible business owner and brought herself out of debt while sending her two kids to college. She’s a beast
Not to be rude but why did she come on this show if she didn’t know about any of the household finances? I get her husband didnt want to be on camera but it just feels like this was a waste of the teams time.
I haven’t even finished watching this but I think going forward married people should be required to do the episode together on camera… even though they don’t have a joint account they are still “sharing” finances if they are in the same household. I’ve been binge watching so I’ve noticed 1 person in the couple will often try to place responsibility on the other person. We need both sides to get the full picture.
I agree. It doesn't seem like the best use of everyone's time to look at half of the story. If they won't both come on, Caleb should probably just skip these people.
I would expand that to parents being inebriated around their kids. But also, kids go to bed and parents can take turns. But this specific woman's lifestyle is making a terrible case for this issue.

My girlfriend and I currently live in a luxury apartment where we basically live paycheck to paycheck, but we have a fancy apt. We used to eat out all the time and never save anything or have an emergency fund. Since finding your video I now have savings/retirement/making big payments to my debt (should be done by end of next yr) cook at home every night and take lunch to work. We will be moving to a cheaper area/apartment cutting our expenses by hundreds of dollars and save close to 1,800 per month (which we will be putting in a HYS or investing). Our goal will also be to max out our IRAs each yr. It was a hard decision but I needed to take a step back and realize that my future is important and i deserve to be happy and comfortable 😊

To be fair, the term "cash flow" as a verb seems to only existing when you start watching youtube and tiktok finance videos. The concept is as old as dirt. But the term is something I hadn't heard until youtube started suggesting finance videos.
@@giantpune It's relevant because she's getting a degree in business. Cash flow is something that comes up constantly when you're getting a business degree. All of your classes will discuss cash flow, profit and loss statements, etc. This far in she should have a solid grasp on to how to fill out business paperwork and know how to track her income vs planned tax deduction vs invested profit, etc. Cash flow would have been introduced day one of Business 101; the fact that she has no idea what it is is a glaring problem with 1) her ability to get this degree and 2) the business she's trying to run.
Had a mom that developed a weed problem. Her brain just slowly turned to mush. And she swore she didn't have a problem and that it was helpful for her bipolar disorder, but she always got weird and I could barely talk to her when she smoked. I know some people think that they can keep marijuana use under control, but I'm sorry drugs are drugs. And parents shouldn't be doing drugs, especially around their children.
She was probably depressed asf. I’ve been smoking weed for 6 years now and this is the first year I’m really lagging. I’m gonna quit just to see, but I know it is a lot of other factors going on I have been insanely depressed this year. Won’t go into it you know the saying “if you throw everyone’s problems into the street…” Iykyk. I can get out of the slump before the year though. We’ll see. I have been great with my money this year so far only buy out once or twice a week now.
I'm sorry this was the experience with your mom. You're right, drugs are drugs and should be used in MODERATION. if someone is using Marijuana for anything but relief from a pain or illness, or to deal with a mental problem without excessive dependence throughout the day; then I believe it's acceptable. Many people do not put the effort into using different strains or different ways of consuming that actually benefit them. There are lower grade edibles, dab vapes etc. And it matters when one uses it, how long it helps them, and that it's the right strain. Indica and sativa do opposite jobs and if someone's to use it throughout the day, it should be less psychoactive and more on a body feel, cbd level( everyone is different though). I guess all I'm saying is that your experience is the everyone's experience and that moderation is key for it to be medication rather than a dependent drug.

I even wrote a different comment about how positive I felt that she could get help but I deleted it in embarrassment because I should have watched the whole video
A few minutes in and shes already lied numerous times. She first said she was getting her degree so she could make her business successful, then she said it was to get a job to fund the business, then she said it was a backup plan in case the business doesn't work. And as for leaving in 2019, she tries to say it was covid, and then gets called out for that, so she says it was to pursue politics, but then says it was to help someone do a campaign. Some people just really can't stop lying.
There's a reason why CPS cares so much about cannabis and babies. It's rare, if ever, that a CPS case is opened on the basis that a mother smokes weed. The weed smoking is generally the factor that ends up KEEPING the case open.
I've always wondered how people who are this irresponsible with something as important as money, deal with their kids? Do they forget them at the park, twice a week?
For some context about parents looking after kids, I’m an RN who works with kids so I get to see all sorts of parents. A lot of times, they’re awesome and on top of their kiddos’ needs. But there will be those who doesn’t bother waking or getting up for half an hour or more even when their child is fussing. not to mention, smoking weed &/or using cbd can be an incredibly expensive hobby and should be avoided especially when in massive debt and with children who would benefit more from that money, i.e. to pay off their school or their haircuts.

Drugs are man made…..
I guess all I'm saying is that your experience is the everyone's experience and that moderation is key for it to be medication rather than a dependent drug.
videos like these make my appreciate my own parents more. maybe I grew up poor, winters without heat and summers without ac, but damnit if they didn't have 4-5 jobs between them, late night schooling, until they finally broke free.
I get this awful feeling of this girl enjoys the freedom of living off the husbands income alone while she pursues her hobby (not entrepreneurship) of selling weed. Like, I love weed, love getting high, love toking up at night and playing games or watching anime, but it's also kept far away from my work and career. She does online sales and has school/babysitting for the kids, there's been 0 excuse she hasn't had a job.
Plus as others have said, she just seems absolutely blazed on this episode
There isn't a stigma against moms smoking weed. There's something called sober parenting.

Yup. Yeah usually it is someone who got screwed on one loan or someone who lost a job who can't recover, while this just looks like a married couple where they're paying more and more and thinking they're worthy of such even though its just the man making 4-5k a month.

I’m not sure this lady is sober enough to lie on purpose
I even saw a mom feeding her 6 month old infant with sandwich which isn’t age appropriate. I helped a kid one time for a bathroom trip and he wasn’t wobbly or anything but mom didn’t even bother helping him. I mean he’s 10 I believe but still, mom just slept😢
So yeah, you might have an idea on where she falls on the spectrum but I don’t wanna judge 😅
Loving your videos man, they've been helping me get my sh** together. Finally quit f'ing around with work. Finally got the perspective to realize my business is not working, to reach out to the people I owe fursuits to and quit making excuses. Finally talked to my husband and got him to agree to combine our money so I could be more involved in our finances besides depositing "whatever I can" into our joint account and falling short because I've been stubbornly clinging to a business that isn't working.

@mortonboi4385 Well, it didn't work out but thats ok. Now I'm a school janitor and my husband works for a bank. The new jobs give us the chance to make things right, refund what we owe, and I can get back into creating for fun instead of for the financial grind.
Funny thing is thst my husband and I are making a better net income now working for employers full time. The gross income of the business looked great, but we underestimated just how much of that was being used up on business. It's not as simple as "sale price - materials cost = profit" ...whoops 😬

I'm so confused, but it could be the area they live in. Typically, private montessori programs are much more expensive. I do think she needs to find something cheaper if they're not going to be able to bring extra income to be able to afford montessori rates.
Just looked it up (Paloma Monessori in San Marcos). It's more like a school than daycare:
- Breaks for Christmas/Thanksgiving as well as Spring and Summer break
- Day is only 8:30-3:30
- Meals are *not* provided
- There's an additional $350 "registration fee" due every year.
