I mean yeah haha having 5 kids is too many if you are a single parent. Even 1 is a lot I hear. I can't imagine 5. And in America. Maybe in another country it would be easier. But USA doesn't give a fuck.
There's this crazy thing you can do, it's called fixing your pets. People will go to a vet and get quoted $300 and then never consider it. There are numerous resources in Texas to get it done for free, especially for low income families.
Don’t have more children if your only childcare solution involves the oldest child watching their younger siblings while you work. That’s unfair to the oldest child.
Maybe I missed this but aren’t there daycare or govt programs that help pay for daycare and stuff for lower income individuals like someone in her shoes?

About the food situation. 1. She qualifies for WIC for the younger children. 2. Food banks. 3. Talk to the county about increasing EBT. Also, if she picks up another day at Amazon, she'll be full-time. Amazon helps full-time employees pay for school. Also, no hate. But get a IUD or some form of birth control.
I suspect she has resistance to number one and two on your list, because she doesn’t see herself as lower class. But yeah, until she’s doing better with child support, she needs the money. She’s spending $50 plus for fast food which is probably pretty good for all, still hamburger helper and other budget meals at home would be a better idea. I get why she’s uncomfortable with being associated with being a welfare mama, but she is working hard to turn that around.
At this point she should be looking at getting her tubes tied. No reversing it later if she meets someone else or her situation improves. You've done your bit for the continuation of the human race. Have a ribbon. Your uterus has retired.

Emergency fund came into use this week. Boiler catastrophically failed - baby due imminently. New boiler being installed on Monday - no need to borrow/take on debt - no worry - this is why we have the emergency fund.
It's incredible how an emergency fund changes how you handle emergencies. It sucks having to put out the money, but the stress it saves allowing you to focus on what's important is priceless. Last year, my husband was in a car accident, and an emergency fund made it far easier to handle.
This show has genuinely changed my life and outlook on little meaningless purchases. I learn from EVERY VIDEO and I can't stop binging them. Thanks again for EVERYONE involved in putting these on- especially the people who come on. I couldn't even imagine having that kind of openness to the world. Thank you to the whole team behind production and etc also! You guys ROCK.
Make large batches of food when you are home and freeze it for the week. The 14 year old or grandmom ought to be able to reheat it. Use a slow cooker; throw food in it in the morning, have dinner ready. Buy bulk. Shop sales; buy whatever meat and veg are cheapest this week. Shop at Goodwill. Do the things poor people have done for generations. People seem to have forgotten these things.
Goodwill is pretty much a racket now. I do agree with the slow cooker/breadmaker. Getting a breadmaker was a game changer, way better and cheaper than store bought.
My wife does hair, I know that pink hair is a multi process. First Bleach since she is not a natural blond, then the "fashion" Colors. Clients pay $300+ to have this done. Her color is not a cheaper one and either she just did it or really spent money. Most of these colors wash out within 2 weeks. Even something like artic fox would not take hold without certain chemicals that you need a license to buy. Point is she is wasting money on pink hair, which I personally feel if you can't keep it from staying vivid becomes a trashy look, which attracts trashy men. Or you spend lots of money to keep it fashionable. Oh ya probably $60 for the shampoo and conditioner for Fashion colors. Fact is I know people pay my wife $250+ for this hair and it really fades after a week or 2.
Yeah I spend about half that on a cut and highlights. But yes you're right. She needs to lay off the hair. It's a big expense (unless she trades for it or literally does it herself).
I've dyed my hair repeatedly. I promise you can achieve that for a lot less and it can last longer than that. Whether she did or not ...well if she went to the salon Caleb would have seen that. We use specifically artic fox... So you definitely don't need a license to get that to last months. Dunno where you got that.
Everyone I know who does their hair this color bleaches their own hair and buys it all from beauty supply under $30. Some come out great, some lose their hair in the bleach process. Results vary. But you can easily get her hair for under $30
I really appreciate Caleb reminding parent’s that their lack of financial planning is going to negatively impact their children for decades to come. I financially support my mother who, like these guests, never saved anything and squandered any extra money on eating out every Friday night, going to the movies every weekend, buying unneeded new clothes, etc. My mother’s lack of financial planning negatively impacts generations in our family as I now am taking money away from saving for my own child’s future to pay my mother’s rent.
My adult kids wish I would spend more on them, but we don’t ever want to put our futures on them. The goal is to leave them with something. My husband said the other day he hopes when his parents pass, we don’t have to pay off debts. They aren’t married, but both a financial disaster.
With those kids ans a disabled mom, her mom should file for disability. Her mom would then qualify for sec 8 housing. There are nice apt complexes that have units for that. Also, she could qualify as her mom's caregiver. Her mom sounds like she needs care too. . Or she herself can file for sec 8. She's way below the poverty line and they have units with 4 bedrooms. So many people just don't know how to navigate that and get in over their head. Also, since she admitted to committing food stamp fraud openly, she may be cut off now and have a cps investigation.
My wife went through that, she raised her little brother when she was 11. And then she was going to raise her sister at 24 years old but I took her out of there.
Getting a “degree” in real estate (to be a realtor) is such a scam. Go pay a few hundred bucks to get a license. Don’t pay a college thousands for the same thing 😭
There are waaaay too many real estate agents here. Plus no car equals no going to showings, etc. She should just get a data entry job she could maybe do from home on a used computer.
I don't think she comprehends what a realtor's schedule is like either, you have to be available constantly especially if you're starting out and there is a lot of competition. Who's going to watch her kids when she has to randomly leave? Was she going to do if she goes 6 months and sells one house? There's a reason the majority of realtors quit within the first year.
She clearly is not pursuing that path, as she doesn't even understand the difference between a Realtor (trademarked term, meaning member of the Association of Realtors) and a real estate salesperson. This is info you learn on day 1 when you begin to study real estate.
I feel for that 14yo having to be a parent already while going into high school and likely not getting enough sleep themselves. I feel for those kids so much.
My Mom grew up like that. It didn’t do her any favors in the nurturing department that’s for sure, she does her best but she never got what she needed as a kid
This literally made me feel sick. The fact that a SINGLE PARENT OF 5 is acting so childish and neglectful with her finances is shameful. Some people should be forbidden from having children. Her kids deserve SO much better.

This episode drove me crazy. Why is it that everyone who wants to bring up income inequality has 5 kids from 4 different guys, a $800 car payment, works 30 hours a week, and has no car insurance. The amount of lack of responsibility is WILD.
I met someone on tinder years ago and we were out having drinks and she was talking about income inequality in America and she had me for a min cause something yea are a little out of whack but then tells me she went to a private college on LI that cost her 35k a year to study art… I was like I went to state college 4K a semester to study accounting
She drives a brand new suv with no car insurance, has five kids with 3(?) different men, spends $175/month on coffee, takes payday loans to pay for frivolities… And blames her situation on income inequality? Sounds like she’s never made a responsible decision in her life. THAT’S the issue.

Mercy, why continue to have children with one man after another without first becoming stable financially and emotionally?!!!! It is the kids that suffer.
Yes thank you for that comment. It's clear she is dealing with problems of her own. Talking from experience, my mom was with her boyfriend for 10 years who put her down everyday and was convinced that she doesn't need to save while paying for the bills for HIS house and HIS car etc. She had 0 in her account with no savings for 10 years yet he earned more and always had savings. She knew it wasn't right but she already had her own issues from trauma and then on top of an unhealthy relationship. We moved out and that's when she relieased how he manipulated her and now we are living better than ever without him! You cannot judge somebody in relationships like this you don't know their situation in that time of life
I don't think the point was to have kids. It just sounds like they weren't being responsible. She didn't have those kids on her own, the men take half the responsibility and blame.
38:40 ARGH! I work in property management. Mostly low income units. She dose what so many poor people do. Has multiple kids working, struggling and gets a pet. YOU CAN NOT AFFORD A PET! A pet is a luxury for when you have time and disposal income.
Seriously. My dog recently died from cancer. Just the two weeks before he did cost us about 1200 with pet insurance, and some hours away from work. It’s a big expense
A pet she couldn't figure out how to get fixed. I personally don't think income level should determine pet ownership (there are terrible owners who have a lot of money) but you need to show you have a plan to care for them properly. 5 random kittens says otherwise.
It drives me crazy too! So many people get pets while not being able to take care of themselves and then cry a river when their pet needs medical help. Then the added layer of not spaying them and letting them be outdoor makes me livid. There are free services in her area for spay and neuter. Irresponsible all around.
One pet is generally not a big expense... initially. One does have to budget periodic vet visits to assess their overall health and prevent big issues. They do get old though. Here, the problem is not just a pet. It's 6 pets since they didn't get it spayed! (And how did it reproduce? Probably outdoor cat, which is not only a bad thing for the environment, but also increases the chance of diseases or accidents that are costly) Plus five kids. Just my bonus is way more than most guests yearly salary, and I couldn't afford five kids - not enough money and (even more importantly) time.
Wait wait wait… So military guy is paying $1000 in support for the one kid that he has by her and she’s trying to drag him to court for more because it’s not enough for her to provide for her 4 other children? WHAT?!?!
Yeah it is the 1 dad that is actually paying.... That is the ones that usually get screwed over with the child support bc the women think they should get more from that since it's what they are receiving from since can't get it from the other deadbeats
It's almost like doing the right thing isn't worth it lol... I would never agree to child support I would fight with every last penny to have 50/50 custody
Hi, I have four kids by four different guys. I only receive child support for one child consistently and pay child support for one kid. I made many bad choices in my life, but I always tried to take responsibility for my actions. Before my boyfriend and I moved in together last year, I struggled to make ends meet, but I did it. I worked my ass off. I made sure everything was paid. I did whatever I had to do to provide for my kids. I went without so many things to make sure my babies were taken care of. I'm thankful that my boyfriend is willing to jump in and help, he's a godsend, but I was able to make it on my own, with my kids. I hope she finds her way and grinds for the sake of her kids. Her kids deserve a strong mom as an example to grow up strong.
Currently going through school, too, with two kids, 13 yrs apart and a fresh breakup. Her decision to have 5 children without stability on her end is wild to me.
I got my son to start watching your channel before he got in a bad habit. He’s 22 with zero debt and decent job he loves. His vehicle won’t last long but he should be able to buy one cash by the end of the summer. I think people forget we have government assistance:( she could get Wic which will pay for 3 of her kids food such as formula, fruits, veggies, baby food and toddler foods….she would qualify for the max EBT amount too which is 500$+. That alone would cover like 800$ in food alone. She could even buy grounded up coffee beans with it, all she would need is a coffee filter and boiled water that’s 15$ give or take. She needs to use these resources if she hasn’t already! She could also apply for TANF which gives you money for rent and bills which with 5 kids and someone on disability she would 100% qualify for!! This would cover so many expenses so she can focus on her bills and loan payments.
While I agree with all these programs for a temporary length of time, they won't fix the root of the problem, her spending. Our taxes shouldn't be spent on enabling her poor spending habits.

I think you need to provide some old school advice. instead of food stamps back in the day they would give you a 50 pound sack of potatoes, some fresh veggies, sugar, flour, and a cookbook. people now adays spend their food assistance on steak, launchables, and tv dinners. You could give them a starter pack on how to be independent.

I work in family law, in a different state, and this isn't legal advice, but she DEFINITELY needs to consult an attorney about the child support for ALL of her children. Even if the dads refuse to cooperate, default orders can be entered and any wages they earn can be garnished. In my state, IL, the Dept. of Health and Family services will file child support cases on behalf of the recipient at no cost, but you have to contact them and work with them on getting ALL the necessary information. It takes a bit of upfront time and effort but it pays off in the end. I'm sure TX has a similar program. As for the child support the military dad is paying, it shouldn't matter that he lives in a different state, particularly if he lives in the state where the divorce/child support cases were filed, they should be enforcable unless mom left the state without notice/permission from the court and dad is fighting for her/the child to be returned to the state he lives in. Depending on what her Judgments/Agreements state, the situation could vary, but that's what attorneys help sort out. There are also programs for single moms all over the place to assist with legal fees so that's something she should SERIOUSLY look into.
I would SUSPECT that the other dads are giving her money on the side.. usually from illegal activities.. (drug dealing, theft, etc.) I am sure she has a side agreement for them to give her cash without her going after them legally. Shit like that is super super common
I just want to hug her. She looks so tired 😢. I know a lot of comments are critical, but I can see the stress in her face ❤ Hope and prayers she figures things out. I have 3 kids with autism and stayed at home for 9 years. I’ve been judged at time to time. I while I can’t completely understand, raw judgement doesn’t help. Critical thinking and reflection does, but not raw judgement.
she put herself in this situation, though….she isn’t a victim. if anything, she’s victimizing five children who didn’t ask to be in this situation, bruh.
She really did behave pretty well on the show ... I wonder how well she'll stick to these plans. She seems to be truly contrite and ready to make a change ... who knows.
I agree she did an excellent job. The comments on this episode is so brutal that I would never come on the show if I was ever in debt to which I have never been in debt. The people and his comments which are his followers are brutal to all the guest. It’s unconscionable.
She obviously won’t change. Five kids, dead beat dad(s), in debt. YET $300 spent for FRESH pink dyed hair. How does the hair dye help her 5 kids? Or help her to improve her life? It’s 💯 “but I waaaaaaaaaant it” She will NEVER change. Just hope her children can survive public education and become productive.
@@amylynndurkan3205she is taking the 1 responsible dad to court for more child support when he only had ONE kid with her. She is trying to explain how he adopted another kid and so he should pay child support for that kid too. She is getting 1k a month from him which is basically their entire food and groceries budget for all kids. Meanwhile she fucked a bunch of deadbeat bad boys and is just "trying to contact them". Lol. Besides, her whole story of him not allowing her to work reeks of manipulation. If he was taking on the responsibilities of earning for the household and let her take care of the kids he was only helping her - that is a privilege. But she spins it as if he held a gun to her head and didnt let her work, yeah right. And, considering how open she seems to be to having babies with deadbeats, who knows why that marriage ended. Was she faithful. The women ive seen in her situation marry a responsible man who will fund the money, fuck bad boys behind his back and then when the guy leaves they use the fucked up court system to drag him through the mud.
To have my chin length Mohawk cut, blown out, and colored (peekaboo and bangs in fun color with neutral color to the rest) cost $250 every 6 weeks. Full head of hair in a pink that vibrant with no roots showing (meaning that she keeps up with the roots) and with brows that dark…easily at LEAST $250, but probably closer to $500.
It depends. Maybe she does it herself. Then it’s not that expensive: 50$ for bleach and developer every couple of months and probably 30$ for a hair mask with pigments maybe every one to two month. At least that’s what it costs me keeping up with my color at home. But it’s still a waste in her situation and not needed.
At this level of poverty, it doesn't matter how cheap she manages to get hair, makeup, nails, etc. Extra stuff like that has to be cut for the sake of her children. She has to accept her natural appearance cuz she can't afford to be pretty or show off her personality through appearance anymore.

Make large batches of food when you are home and freeze it for the week. The 14 year old or grandmom ought to be able to reheat it.
Good pick up didn’t catch that
I am a stylist and this is 100% accurate…
You need to get yourself out of that, it is NOT your task!
Good luck

Getting a “degree” in real estate (to be a realtor) is such a scam. Go pay a few hundred bucks to get a license. Don’t pay a college thousands for the same thing 😭
It's not even her goal to be a real estate agent. She just has the vague notion that more school = more money somehow, no matter the degree.

Mercy, why continue to have children with one man after another without first becoming stable financially and emotionally?!!!! It is the kids that suffer.
Because she’s broken, you can’t understand it because you’re a responsible human.

But they're so cute 🥺
It drives me crazy too! So many people get pets while not being able to take care of themselves and then cry a river when their pet needs medical help. Then the added layer of not spaying them and letting them be outdoor makes me livid. There are free services in her area for spay and neuter. Irresponsible all around.
One pet is generally not a big expense... initially. One does have to budget periodic vet visits to assess their overall health and prevent big issues. They do get old though.
Here, the problem is not just a pet. It's 6 pets since they didn't get it spayed! (And how did it reproduce? Probably outdoor cat, which is not only a bad thing for the environment, but also increases the chance of diseases or accidents that are costly)
Plus five kids. Just my bonus is way more than most guests yearly salary, and I couldn't afford five kids - not enough money and (even more importantly) time.
Wait wait wait…

5 kids… she conducted herself very well on this show. I commend her for being brave to come on here and actually have the conversation.
Simp
It’s 💯 “but I waaaaaaaaaant it”
She will NEVER change.
He didn't ask how much it costs to maintain her pink hair.
It looks like she wants to hold on to her youth for dear life and on top of that she is irresponsible? Not a good look.
Probably because it looks like a wig not real hair, so it’s not necessarily a new purchase & she can wear it forever as long as she maintains it
At this level of poverty, it doesn't matter how cheap she manages to get hair, makeup, nails, etc. Extra stuff like that has to be cut for the sake of her children. She has to accept her natural appearance cuz she can't afford to be pretty or show off her personality through appearance anymore.
"Support the guest in the comments."
Caleb, that ship has sailed brother.
🛳️
Perfect. She’s my age and a mom. Love seeing videos like this!!!
