    Got my second loss to the loaded dice rillaboom and one thing to note is that rillaboom was able to out speed and OHKO my pelipper with bullet seed through focus sash. I Thought it was a really cool adaptation to rain so huge props to Jonotv!

    Scarlet and Violet are admittedly truly horribly optimized games, however for me personally, this has been the most fun Ive had with VGC ever. I think terastallizing is such an insanely fun mechanic that always keeps the game fresh and fun. If a certain set or tera type becomes "standard", new pokemon are used to counter that weakness that maybe normally wouldn't have a positive matchup. And then the original mon will change their tera type to curve the expectations. I absolutely love teras, and I really hope they don't drop this mechanic or make it insanely broken by adding new mechanics onto it.

      I’ve heard it before, I’ll repeat it now. SV feels like the beta test to the best pokemon game ever made.

      Even though I feel like Sword and Shield was a bigger victim of lack of development time, 90% of SV's issues are very obviously just due to the game being rushed to the point that it'd be really funny if it wasn't just sorta sad

    I'm not surprised to see the tr psyspam w/ a sun mode teams do well. I've been theory crafting for a while looking at the meta and that was the archetype that I felt had the most coverage into the other teams. I'm not the biggest fan of the archetype, but I cant deny that it does a good job of covering the make it rain spam, the rain teams, the dozo stuff, and damage trading the balance teams.

    I'm trying a very similar team to that Weezing team that was highlighted right now, except I swapped out the Palafin (whose ability does work with Weezing btw) for Tauros-Aqua with Ability Shield. I named the Tauros "still has intim" just to rub it in against other intimidate mons.

    Hey! Only just realised someone posted about this. Thanks for the support! As tour organiser it was a great turnout with a lot behind the scenes going on so glad it all went well. Crazy to see only 1 rain team in top 8 😱

    the #1 team is more or less that one Necrozma Dawn Wings team except with an Araquanid instead of an Ursaluna

    Someone on a discord I'm in mentioned that the winner was very underwhelmed by Araquanid and his 2 losses were the 2 times he brought it with him

    I could see the multiscale generating some good value in best of 1 closed team sheet. Everyone is thinking they can’t fake you out, then boom, you soak up a Draco meter. Obviously as you noted would need to be extremely cautious with Incin or anyone ready to call the bluff.

    What do you think a decent ladder rating is? I peaked 1605 BO1 and play most of my games in 1400-1600. Should I start doing BO3 to further improve?

    • @Cardking74
      @Cardking74 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you plan to compete I would try and play exclusively bo3 OTS

    • @Joeybanananas
      @Joeybanananas 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@Cardking74 Idk dude. There is merit to the b01 ladder. In reg g for instance, if you played b01 ladder before Indy you would have had the inside scoop on both specs miriadon and specs pagos and how powerful they were into the early meta.
      The b01 ladder is underrated imo. It is filled with a lot of cheese, but at the same time its the best place to go to find new meta game developments before they get showcased. Good players will play test their ideas on the b01 ladder before bringing it to a tournament so it doesnt get leaked to the wider community as quickly.
      Also I think one of the reasons Japan is such a strong region is the fact they play so much b01 cts and how playing that format forces you to think about Pokémon and teambuilding as a whole.

      @@JoeybanananasYeap,pretty much all testing is done on b01 and then players will move on to practice within their own groups.

      If you want an honest answer, it's probably 1800+, most players who day 2/top cut at major events can easily reach 1800 ELO with a GXE of 75-80%.
      You have to understand that most players are just casuals, even the ones who are pretty good.
