You know what sucked about Perth? It’s basically exclusive to Australians. Even though New Zealand is part of the Oceania region, we don’t get any regionals, so we are required to travel to Australia to realistically compete. Perth is very expensive to travel to relative to other areas of Australia, meaning New Zealand players effectively have a handicap in terms of points. It feels unfair. Having a regional in New Zealand would effectively counterbalance that handicap.

It gives a good perspective as to what actually goes into this stuff

Dude I feel you with the expectation to do better. I know I can do way better than my current placing but I continually choose subpar mons for events. Partially due to the challenge and also sometimes it’s good because it’s something your opponents aren’t anticipating. There’s some solace in saying I was the highest blaze Tauros player though 😂 I think Brisbane I’ll be choosing a strictly meta team. Once again, pleasure chatting to you in Perth good sir!

Brother the burn out has been real and I believe for many. For me Reg H initially was a breath of fresh air, but then reg h just became a casino. Constant RNG and you never know when you'll win because someone may get lucky

To answer your question on growth you are right that editing videos would be good, but you also need to develop your own market niche. I can tell you that I personally found your channel after Neil got cancelled. I was looking for a replacement channel that could do meta analysis. I think that could be a good thing for you to do. Maybe after regionals you could break down the battle footage? Idk just throwing an idea out there

Ive been super burned out on vgc myself. I've been enjoying playing pocket a lot more. Vgc is just a very frustrating experience sometimes. Having to keep up with the meta, setting up ev spreads, deciding on tera types, dealing with your opponents and all the surprise stuff they have etc etc. I honestly dont get how people like Joeux9 do it. I hope you find a good balance.

I feel you when it comes to work I had to stop playing Pokemon Scarlet Violet for 3 weeks straight my boyfriend was shocked that I didn't even touch it it's cuz I had to work 6 days straight one day off for peak right now I have two weeks regular days which is 4 days a week 10 hour shifts but it's going to be back to 3 weeks 6 days straight so I have literally no time to go to locals I have to rely on the grand challenge.. so I get it

For me, Reg G is a perfect time to take a break! Not looking forward to going back to that reg

Thank you for all the great content. I’d personally love an education video on EVs and EV bumps but do whatever feels right. The content is great and I’m sure wherever you decide to go with it will still be great.

I've been really liking Gallade to handle hydriegon and acharludon for my trick room team. That sharpness boosted sacred sword hits different

I am not interested in playing Competitive Pokemon, but I do love seeing underdog Pokemon get their chance to shine, even moreso when it is a Pokemon I personally like, such as Wo Chien! It is also fascinating to see the plethora of strategies these players can come up with! Thank you for this informative and understandable rundown on Wo Chien!

I’m gonna argue sneasler, unpopular opinion, and that’s because sneasler is playable in more formats than urshifu. For the majority of this games life sneasler is going to see more play than a restricted Mon, and seeing an over abundance of a strong annoying pick the majority of the time is more unhealthy from an actual esport perspective than a gameplay perspective. I still think urshifu genuinely ruins the game though. I’m not gonna enjoy January when reg G is back.

I have just started my VGC career and have also decided on a Blastoise team, as it is my favorite Pokemon. It does really good damage and it's a lot of fun. I also think it's very cool that my favorite Pokemon is doing so well.

Victor has a strong second place curse I see him place everywhere in the top 8 but first. These are great results for tournaments but I know in his heart he wants first place. He reminds me of Sonix great player in smash bros but he also has not been getting first place since 2023. His opponent was quite a nasty one so I cut victor some slack for second place at internationals.

Been running Rain Room myself, so it was funny seeing all the Ursaluna Weather teams on stream. Plus all the Ursalunas in the finals was also a treat for me.

This meta just keeps changing
