50k would be a possible price tag. The car wouldn’t sale because there wouldn’t be enough people who could afford it. It would be a bad business move if they did. I think they did the right thing with not bringing out something no one would buy. Most people still think it’s ugly lol when honestly it doesn’t look that much different from the previous generation lol.
I love my VB, but the only way I'd trade it in for a trim above Premium is if they made a Wilderness. Instead of giving it track day performance stuff, give it a proper rally-inspired all weather/roads version with a 1-2" lift, extra underbody protection, mud flaps, the STi diffs, beefier tires, maybe a slightly torquier tune, etc. People will complain about these not getting more power, but it already has enough to feel fun and seriously quick on a backroad.
Listening to this gave me a semi 😁 In all honesty I have an Outback Wilderness in geyser blue no less. And the only thing that would make me get a WRX is exactly what you said. Give me the Wilderness version of this! Another thought, how bout taking the Crosstrek and making that into a Turbo!
If you plan on using the backseat this is better than the GR Corolla. Tradeoffs for both cars hatch vs sedan and wonder about the longevity of a highly boosted three cylinder. I am sure there will be takers for both with the GR being more entertaining than the WRX. I have seen videos online when the WRX is dyno tested that Subaru low balled it with cars making more than the advertised 270hp. That being said too bad there is no STI and no hatchback.
For the money plenty car and 3 paddles and a stick shift making this car so fun and practical great everyday ride. I don't car how expensive the super car is. Cannot compare with this car because of price and manual transmission 😊😊
No mention if power-on understeer has changed, or if steering feel has improved. Also didn't mention rev hang. These are things that modern cars and WRX's in particular suffer from.
Nice car but I couldn’t get a nice smooth shift out of the manual transmission unless I drove the car like it was stolen. CVT is out of the question and that boxer engine probably will have oil leaks when it crosses warranty.
@@deantalamantes6190Type R are garbage Honda Turbo engine. Hondas are disastrous nowadays. Honda should move all manufacturing back to Japan and especially their parts suppliers must come from Japan.
That Subaru needs the 3.5 liter Toyota V6 with a 6 speed manual. My guess is the TRD V6 Camry from last year would outrun it, just won't out handle it.
Looks like it has a decent interior but I just can't dig the exterior styling and, with "just" 271HP, I see honestly see no reason to move to this from my minty 230,000km, 6-speed 2010 STI hatch daily.
This new wrx is a weapon, I got the TR and a STI RA. Pleasantly surprised by TR, new FA engine is amazing also responds well to modifications. Just a intake and a tone is all one needs look it up.
Everyone knows that this is Subaru's STI division, to gives us a glimpse of the next (HEV) STI. To see what parts we like, and/or dislike. Because everyone loves, them marketing strategies.
Still 271 HP in 2024 lol , Subaru dropped the ball and falling behind in power and look. The only thing that is still great is the symmetrical AWD system.
So many missed opportunities here. Toyota now owns Torsen (and Subaru),Toyota makes a DI I-4 turbo engine. Why can’t they rework this powertrain, take on Audi and possibly beat them at their own game? With a better powertrain, this car could easily outclass the S3 and Golf R
If they did the price will change drastically. This is a cheap affordable car that can be driven on dirt very well. It is not meant to compete with an Audi because it’s no where near the luxury segment.
The cabin just looks awful. Only a 16 year old would think bright baby blue interior accents all over the place looks cool. This thing costs the same as a Golf R or Corolla GR but can’t keep up with either. Very disappointing Subaru WRX. Should be a full STi at this price point.
New tech = in the near future, if you late on your payment, the loan company can shut yo car off. With GPS they come tow it away. Less is more sometimes
$45,000, for a WRX? Stis didn't cost near that much. Remember when WRX were $25,000? Who's buying this crostrek looking thing? I predict most car companies go out of business as fewer and fewer people every year are able to consider buying an overpriced new car
I got my base model with sti shift package for 33k. Originally priced at 35.5k. Considering prices in say, 2015... They are almost same cost. Considering mitsubishi ralliart were at 30k for 2015. They've maintained price points
Its actually terrible. Why do we need black plastic crap over the wheel wells and grill and everywhere. What happened to sculptured metal fenders and quarters? At least painted, and round like a wheel. Why do we have fenders shaped like the top of a stop sign? We have reached a point in technical advancement of combustion engines with efficiency and power, and cars look like cookie cutter crap and are built the worst they ever have been. It’s sad times.
Did the WRX get married? Because someone took its balls. If you are going to drop $45k on a sporty car, get one with 100+ hp, grab a low mileage Kia Stinger, 375hp, AWD, and looks much better than that plastic sampler with wheels.

pretty close to what an sti would be. brembos and special blue seats and revised suspension. hopefully the new engine gets more power in the future.
