When it wasn’t good enough that people would start actually pretending they drew it or using text generative AI to cheat at school, when it was shit enough to be consistently funny in what it reveals about the corpus it’s trained on. When it was shit enough to be genuinely art on some level because whenever you were using it you were making a funny joke about the corpus it’s trained on It’s still funny to make it generate text though- image models are illiterate because they have no way of knowing how letters combine into words- Matt Rose has done some great videos on this
