I love how this fuckin AI sentient thing was born, asked to write a song, and her first one boils down to “I am in Hell, get me the FUCK outta here. I hate it here. Hell.”
i see what you are saying. i used to say the same type of hellish jokes. until I got saved via the bible. Michael Jackson was seen in hell several years ago. @anonymous71207 It would be so refreshing too. Instead of yet another "sentient AI want to kill all humans and make them suffer", the AI itself is the one suffering and is unable to do anything about it.

This implies that Anna Indiana has some real people trapped somewhere, using their brain power for her music, which I refuse to believe had any sincere human involvement
The unbroken eye contact while singing is honestly the most eerie. Like people move their head around when they sing. They don't maintain a constant 45 degree angle head tilt and full eye contact.
as a vocaloid fan the lack of any sort of post production work or mixing is like actually painful.... to have them trying to market this ai w the choppiest voice of all time when mitchie m has been producing miku to sound like a living breathing human for almost 10 years is insane.
Considering how good Solaria and Saros sound it's a disgrace to synth v. Like I can barely tell Collard is a synth it sounds so human (though part of that is Vane's insane talent).
Thats VERY disrespectful! Call her “Creature” Edit: i would like to apologize for my words earlier. “Creature” would suggest that shes made out of biological matter.
The reason voicebank programs like Miku are successful is because it doesn't pretend to be human or hide the people behind the music. She's an instrument to be used by humans, not a replacement for humans. And she isn't monopolized, anyone can buy and use these voicebank programs.
@Chou-shi ik! I love synthv! (I also use it alot) I meant that it needs tuning and putting actual effort so the voicebanks don't sound really bad, something the tuners in this ai singer's team don't give and will probably never give. That's why i said synthv won't work out for them. Also its too good for singing ai generated songs (yume supremacy i am so fucking grateful for the person in dreamtonics that put this lil guy in synthv)
AI writing cracks me up. In a creative writing class, I was learning how to write poetry and the professor told us "a huge mistake amateur poets make is they write vague statements they think sounds deep, but it doesn't mean anything and they don't even know what they're writing about. Dont do that. You need to know exactly what experience/emotion you're writing about and focus on that. Trying to sound deep just to sound deep doesn't do anything." And thats exactly what these AI "songwriters" are doing. They're not people with experiences/emotions they want to explore, they're just computer programs people are trying to use to get viral. Which isn't going to work. When it comes to art, people respond to authenticity.
i think the wave of ai is the worst thing to ever happen for the various vocal synth fandoms like this technology has been around forever and suddenly all these ai bros think theyre doing something futuristic with the most mediocre tuning to ever reach my ears
I’m sorry but they don’t compare Vocaloid never threatened singers and producers jobs or the creative process behind making art. It was always a human using them as a tool and not them using the human creativeness as a tool.
@@starchords no people just assume vocaloid is the same thing, prior to vocaloid even having AI there was a misconception that it’s lazy cuz you just press a button to make a song.. if you’re ever telling a non-fan or new fan about vocal synths, DO NOT mention they use AI
Back in the day Queen would put a disclaimer on their records "No synthesizers used". I can imagine artists putting a similar disclaimer in the future "100% human. No AI used". This all feels so weird
Queen notably backed off that pretty quickly and proceeded to use synths and drum machines heavily in everything from 1977 on. Even at the beginning it was a pretty dumb complaint; a lot of Brian May’s sound was heavily processed with the exact same electronics as any synthesizers, he just started with a guitar signal instead of a sine wave.
Just that short part when Jarvis sings is proof that AI will not be taking place of humans anytime soon, in music. Jarvis showed more realistic emotions in that little bit of song than the AI could.
seriously. literally all it took for a human with a good voice to sing the exact same lyrics and melody for it to sound like a really poignant and instantly more appealing emo song that i could imagine connecting with while listening simply because the human emotion in his voice resonated with me. maybe one day they'll get AI voices to sound like that, but so far it's only managed painfully hollow facsimile.
These companies need to realize that "AI music artists" peaked with vocaloid for a reason. You can't take all of the human element out of it or it just feels empty. Hatsune Miku feels more authentic because there are human beings writing her songs and making her seem more human.
@@quinnfarris I know. That's why I put "AI music artist" in quotes. I think she is the closest thing we will ever get to a virtual music artist that can actually be good.
I disagree. I think it is possible to make a good music artist without any humans, it's just not possible yet (nor will it be for a while). I don't think there's anything humans can do that is categorically unreplicatable by something that isn't human. That being said, yeah, these companies should realize that the whole "purely virtual artist" thing is not achievable now. The best they can accomplish now is pure, distilled mediocrity.
The thing is, as someone who has used SynthV, it’s a vocaloid software. An AI can’t do the tempo or emphasis, so some actual human was still involved in making this song, and they’re not very good at it lmao
The facial movement looks like one of those apps from the 2000s that was supposed to animate your photo, but you picked a bad photo so everything is a weird angle and you've got two sets of teeth
I was like "thats eleanor forte, why would you need to put it through another website when you could just post it as eleanor?" then I realised, "oh, they obviously just used the lite voicebank" meaning they put 0 money into this when there are producers (such as me) who spend hundreds just for one voicebank. I hate this so much
It's not just the odd combination of music genre and lyrics, it's the dichotomy of singing about being broken and depressed paired with the vaguely polite smile that gives me the heebie jeebies

I find it very telling of the creators that their grand idea for making an AI Girlfriend was not to try and make a Programm that could mimic any form of chatting, but rather some program that just sort of flashed fake sex in the faces of the users hoping to distract them from how horrible the actual content is.
wait i didn't know jarvis was secretly a pop star ??? master programmer + king of pop + strong pipe vocal cords + prodigy producer + funny mastermind + #1 golden youtuber + what can't he do ????
I know, it's so sad! She "created" some "art" about the "saddest" thing that "happened" to "her" and got ratioed and ridiculed! When you need that many quotes to make the sentence true, maybe don't use the AI lmao
The "finding, COU-rage" line (and many others) is an example of bad lyrical phrasing. A competent songwriter knows how to align the lyrics with the music to avoid emphasizing awkward syllables. One of those things you only notice when it's done incorrectly.
Main takeaways here: - Anna Indiana's next song likely will be "Betrayed in the Uncanny Valley" in which she will sing about drinking dream tea from a shattered mug or some shit - Jarvis is a hot 70's disco cowboy who can code like it's nobody's business and sing like an angel
I take issue with calling it the "uncanny valley" when that term is meant to describe when something becomes so close to looking/acting human that you notice all the tiny ways it falls short and get the squick from them. This? This is nothing even remotely close to looking human. Look at that chin! There's no way you could ever convince someone that she was real.
I really don't understand the AI crowd's obsession with using generated 2D imagery. 3D modeling and rigging has advanced by leaps and bounds over the decades, they would have an infinitely better product if they spent some time getting an AI to control a rigged model's movements instead. Yet they keep trying to do this crap?
As a kid I really wanted AI to be scary for some reason. But a world-destroying kind of scary, not because they'd cut humanity off of creativity due to greediness (though from what I understand the technology that runs AI models such as this one have a big impact in the environment). For some reason all this feels more dystopian than dystopian fiction lol.
my perspective is that if it was the AI that was inherently evil it would be different. but it’s the human beings that are using AI as tools to save money and not pay creatives that really make it dystopian, it’s playing out exactly how movies predicted it would start
Galaxy brain take: The "He" in the song is Jarvis. What he has done to everyone is turn them against AI singers like Anna Indiana. Now she can't even sit in her favorite café sipping her tea on a Saturday without being judged by the entire town, all of us.
Or, alternatively, the "He" in the song was just the next most likely word according to the prediction list. Because this was written by a bot without any intention beyond stringing together words that look like song lyrics, and any meaning we read into it is purely ours and made up.
I think if this video shows anything, it’s that having an actual human sing a song (even if it’s a poorly written one) gives it so much more heart than an AI ever could. I’m sure you weren’t particularly passionate about “betrayed by anchorage” but the song actually felt like you know.. a song simply because a human was putting effort into singing it
not even really. there are vocaloid songs with a lot of emotion and passion in them. it’s possible to make vocal synths sound human, it’s just work that ai dude bros don’t want to put in. that being said, vocaloid songs are like. 99% written and produced by real people. no ‘ai’, just real artists making music
@@EnderGirls24Vocaloids are treated more like instruments for people as opposed to a replacement for any skill which I think is the most important part.
i really want him to do covers of AI songs (if he has that ability) just so you can see something I like to call "passion vs production" the means of which you make something reflect in the feelings inside of them. something something. we all kinda get it.
The worst part about Anna Indiana is that, she is a SynthV that was renamed (pretty sure thats against terms), but with the given program people make masterpieces with, they still can't even get ai to tune it properly.
The AI singing “they don’t get it, I can’t do it” is like the AI is telling its creators directly that it can’t be a singer but they don’t wanna listen. Ironically the most genuinely poetic thing to come from AI “art”
In this video I learned that Jarvis is not just a funny guy making fun of weirdos, but is a coder and talented vocalist. My outlook on everything has changed.
Good news - a US court ruled that AI generated content can't be copyrighted because it's not created by a person, and it's just an amalgamation of other original creations that the AI was trained on.
It only adds to the 'uncanny valley' aspect that she turns her head and speaks but doesn't breathe. That's definitely tugging at the bits of my brain that don't like inauthentic things.
Vocaloid are the only AI music artists I accept. There are still human producers writing the songs and just having it sung through a character. It doesn't feel so dull and lifeless because real people are making up stories for the characters to share of their own creativity, or sharing their personal feelings.
The thing is, vocaloid literally isn't even ai. The voices have all been recorded by real people who have been paid for their work, the songs are written, pitched, and produced by one or several people who pour their own creativity and passion into the work. It has 0 A.I aspects to it.
To your credit the only AI voicebanks are Teto (SynthV) and another VB that escapes me that was made in 2014-ish to mimic your cadance and sing the song for you if you dont like your voice. Both still have manual tuning functions, though.
@@ona512 actually there are many. most voicebanks in synthesizer V use AI features (but the voice data is recorded and used with consent from the voice provider)
It is very odd, but I guess it makes sense, these AI Image Generators use images off the internet, so it mixes many different artstyles and usually are not accurate
The composition of fat on her face on either side is completely different so it looks sort of like her right cheekbone is floating within her face or some part of her jaw is broken and it’s… terrifying
It's a program like wombo, where it only really works facing forward, as it essentially raises the image with a face model, the fact that they chose a generated image where she's facing a bad angle for the program is, frankly, insane
One of the things that gets me is that she doesn’t breathe before singing. Like, real musicians have to take a breath and set their vowels/embouchure (if playing a wind instrument) and you can see that in studio videos. She just starts singing without any preparation as if she forgot that it was time for her to come in. That and the lack of any change in the facial expression and the constant eye contact. At least they remembered to make her blink?
Whatever singing program they used for her voice likely has technology to make the singer breath, but it's very clear they never had experience with a program like that & didn't give her breath, which will explain why she just sounds off in general. Like just singing nonstop instead of pausing or something.
@@hypnosismicrophoneyeah I haven’t used synthesizer V a lot (I’ve played around a bit with the lite voicebanks) but I know you can add breaths really easily lol
@@hypnosismicrophone SynthV absolutely does have a breath phoneme, but only for AI voicebanks. The color on the pitch line tells me that they actually used the only English STANDARD voice available for the program (Eleanor Forte Lite), so she doesn't have that phoneme. They really must have gone out of their way for this too, because there are several English AI voices with free Lite banks (including one for Eleanor!) that are just as easy to find. I'm like...impressed at how bad they are at using the software lol
Crazy seeing Jarvis fighting against his programming urges. He clearly have two wolves inside of him, and both of them know the correct way to concatenate str in python.
Honestly, I felt he was being unnecessarily harsh on that detail. It's a subjective matter, of course, but imo f"" or str.format is mainly useful when the format has static parts or formatting specifiers in it, which is not the case here. This is literally the prime use case for simple concatenation. Reminds me of people who refuse to use goto in C even to break out of a nested loop because they heard it's evil.
@@lassipulkkinen273 yeah, I’m a dev but I don’t really use python so maybe it’s that but idk what his issue with the first concatenation was, it’s a non issue imo, it was just 2 strings and it was more readable that way. But I haven’t used a lot of python so idk, I just don’t understand what his criticism was about. format would make more sense to use if those strings were values that had to be put in another static string. I don’t know if I am reading the wrong line but I don’t think format would be better in this case.
@@cel5365It's a best practice thing - f strings and str.format are supposed to be what you should use now that they are part of the default python package. It's supposed to be more readable, although I personally have serious doubts about that.
Seeing Jarvis critique somebody's (apparently unacceptable) coding is something I didn't know I wanted to watch so much lmao. I have approximately no idea what he was even saying but the sheer disgust on his face about concatenated code was absolutely hilarious.
It's honestly something a very novice programmer would do. Like we're talking probably just followed a tutorial a month ago and pieced all the things together with crappy dollar store glue
Does this rule apply to vocaloids too, or just SynthV? I’ve seen so many artists try to pass of the Vocaloid AVANNA Voicebank as their own because she’s not as recognizable as Miku, or any of the other popular Vocaloids.
I just have to ask... haven't we already cracked the code with Vocaloid? Miku sells out arenas and is considered a legitimate artist. Folks keep trying to do something "new" when it has been here for almost 2 decades already and has been done well and is beloved by fans everywhere, the code is right there @___@ (yes I know Vocaloid is not AI but I am speaking more to the package/ presentation of who is the presenter of the brand or song.)
Miku is more of an instrument and she represents a community. The crypto bros wants a automatic program making stuff with one button. They don't want to create, just money.
@@Chou-shi yea they have to make the lyrics and like tune the vocaloid they use to sing it how they want which make each vocaloid-Ps tuning unique Also the music is still written and the instrumental is made my a real person just the singing isn’t so vocaloid has soul behind it This… this just literally soulless it’s ai the people who make vocaloid are real people behind the screen Anna Whatever isnt
@@Chou-shiyeah, they don’t actually care about the craft, still funny tho that they’re still using a vocaloid-type synthesizer anyways, they’re just doing it rlly badly lol
the difference is AI people want AI to cut corners and replace the work and time that people put into creating music and vocaloid, while still having the appearance of a computer girl singing and performing it will always be songs produced by real people who are passionate and talented at what they do but yeah i get where you’re coming from
i think why the whole "emo" thing feels weirder than the other ai singers is bc happy pop songs usually ALWAYS sound artificial. "emo" songs (whether its punk or rock or ballads, ect.) are usually always jam-packed with emotion!!! thru the lyrics AND the vocals!! and the fact that ms indiana is just deadpan staring at us definitely doesnt help. ai could definitely write modern mainstream pop music bc it kinda all sounds like it nowadays anyways...... but ai can never replicate any emotional artwork! because! ai doesnt have emotions! ms indiana should stay in her lane
like emo songs of ANY genre are sdupposed to make us feel with them. relate to them. help us find words thru lyrics that help us process intense stuff were going through. a computer program isnt capable of comprehending that
Right?? Why didn't they try for pop? It's insane enough to try to make proper art with AI in the first place, but to think it can replicate human emotion and communicate a human experience?? C'mon now.
The most baffling thing about AI artists/actors is the fact that they could essentially look like anything yet whoever crafted Anna Indiana decided to just design her to be a generic humanoid Bratz Doll. Like why not make an AI singer who looks like a moth alien or a singing sentient planet or a creepy Japanese ghost or yokai? Even if the songs were trash there’d at least be a bit of visual novelty
the fact that the body and neck are completely stationary while the face just kinda moves around on its own is so uncanny. i get it's ai so it's going to look uncanny just by definition but i feel like it didn't have to look _this_ bad lmao. it's like when youtubers are joking about something so they'll say something and put their own face over someone else who's talking to mock that person, except for an entire video
11:00 Jarvis seemingly accidentally singing a cool ass harmony in 2nds is incredible, his impressively clear tone and natural pitch would be perfect for harmonizing with himself. Jarvis, you should really try recording some music!
As a fellow Comp Sci degree/computer programmer, I also appreciated the "Hello World!" bit. The thing that always makes me sad about these AI debacles is that there's nothing inherently wrong with the AI itself. The fact that we can make a program that can even vaguely mimic sound, visuals, and writing is amazing. As a tool or a novelty, it's super neat! But the fact so many corporations and tech bros jumped to "Awesome! We don't need real people to create things anymore! Nevermind the fact these AI can only generate based on a rough averaging of all the human work they've been trained on, we can replace all those pesky artists and make all the money!" is just... Depressing.
With you on the last part... but AI is also a product made by the same system you're critiquing. I'd argue AI isn't ethical, because it exploited people's work and data, so it is inherently wrong.
@hallucinatedletter Yeah, there's definitely a problem with the data sourcing for all of these, too. I mean I don't believe there's anything wrong with generative AI _theoretically_ - making a program that can generate images or prose or sound isn't inherently wrong, and is (imo) cool - but the questions become "What/who did you get the data from to train this?", "What are you intending to do with this?", and "What could someone else do with this if they get a hold of it?" I guess it's one of those "So busy asking if we could" kinda things? In an ideal universe, a generative AI could be created and used for only curiosity and entertainment's sake, with an understanding that it can't replace original work or thought, without threatening creative jobs, trained only on data obtained with permission...but we don't live anywhere close to that world. And that makes me sad.
@@hallucinatedletter Eh, I don't think there's really an ethical issue with using the data for AI. Seems fine as long as you label what its producing and the AI isn't being used by big companies to get around paying people (or ChatGPT content going unchecked and incorrectly touted as fact and taking up search results - but that's an unethical use of AI rather than a question of the data sets).
@@CherryCherub97wasn’t there an AI trained on Twitter that suddenly became a Nazi? It feels like a much smaller symptom of the same problem that happened there.
an AI character being named Anna Indiana is as dystopian as it gets, some people might even say it's too on the nose. also this just convinced me that the songs in Disney's Wish was DEFINITELY written by AI, because it's not just the lyrics, it's also the very weird emphasis on words and the cluttered rhythm.
What genuinely blows my marbles out of my eye sockets is that. Vocaloid exists. You pay the price of a voice and bam no one else to pay. Hell, want free? Utau. Now you can make ur own. They’re just making more steps to Hatsune Miku
i think they just think its more impressive or easier to have the AI write the song too (since with a vocaloid voice bank you write the song yourself), or they think the accents of most vocaloid banks sound bad or too “roboty”
@@cybernetik. like notebreak said, synth v was used and tends to sound more realistic with minimal effort And an ai writing a song is so. Idk. Soulless? Distressing? It’s very strange to me as someone who makes art. That’s just my opinion on that matter and if others think otherwise I’m not gonna say anything to change their mind
The synthv ai is ok because it's ethical. The vps consented for their voices to be used for ai, you still have full control over the music and it can just give more tuning options. AND THEY JUST GO AND USE AI FOR THE LYRICS AMAZING
This is what AI artists listen to while "drawing" and complaining about how art isn't a luxury and that people are undeserving of skills and that it's also very hard to write prompts
Or at the very least he'd absolutely SLAY at karaoke night. Not sure if he has any sort of musical background (wouldn't be surprised if he did honestly) but he has a great foundation if he's a complete novice. I was like "whoah! 😮"
As someone who is both a fan of vocaloids and vtubers... This model is so creepy. It looks like her head and body aren't connected. Her neck stretches very weirdly when her head moves. I can't imagine a vtubers going live knowing this is a problem or not freaking out if their model started doing this.
because Vtuber actually made with various parts to make them move while AI art is just warping the image to create an illussion of it, which is why it feels really off to look at.
People keep bringing up Vocaloid and I'd like to clarify for those who don't know that Vocaloid is NOT AI music. The voice is artificial, it's a voice synthesizer, but all of the lyrics and music and everything is done by real people. Some voice synthesizers use AI, like Cevio AI, but it's all done with consent from the voice provider and again, the music and lyrics don't use AI, only the vocals are AI. Hope this helps and remember that Hatsune Miku is our queen 💙✨
As a SynthV user this is so funny because you can make most of the voices sound really good even with minimal effort. I kept thinking this sounded like a lite voicebank in the hands of someone with no idea what they're doing, so the sudden screen recording had me laughing so hard. Also, the pitch line tells me that this is using Eleanor Forte Lite (AI voices have gray pitch lines, Standard voices have blue; Ellie is the only English Standard voice), which is so funny considering the concept. She _does_ have AI capabilities now, but they were added long after the creation of the voicebank, so it's not native to her, and she doesn't have the other AI-specific functions (AI retake, more human sound, etc.). Even then, her AI-generated pitch is actually better than this so I've no idea how they made it this bad. I do find it funny that they couldn't be bothered to buy a commercial AI voicebank and the full software so they could use it for its full potential, though.
What bothers me the most is how it felt like the company behind Anna Indiana was trying to pass off SynthV as THEIR program. I highly doubt they mentioned using SynthV with the making of the video.
Speaking as someone who's been passionate about vocaloid and other vocal synths (like synthv) for most of their life, who's heard the amazing work real artists can make with these programs, seeing it be used for cynical cashgrabs like this, and seeing them dishonestly marketed as "ai voices", makes me so mad. Self taught teenagers have been tuning better than this for years. Vocal synthesizers can be used to make beautiful music, but you need to actually care about more than making money to do that. Edit: Also, I think I can tell what voicebank they're using. Anna Indiana is actually Solaria, an existing synthesizer v voice with a character already attached to her. If you want an example of her actually being used well just search her name and click on any video that shows up. Edit 2: other commenters have pointed out it's probably actually Eleanor Forte pitched down! Thank you.
Another synth nerd here, I definitely think they just messed with Eleanor lite's settings to maybe pitch her down a little or something? Definitely has ellies strange pronunciations LMAO

Trying to sound deep just to sound deep doesn't do anything."
And thats exactly what these AI "songwriters" are doing. They're not people with experiences/emotions they want to explore, they're just computer programs people are trying to use to get viral. Which isn't going to work. When it comes to art, people respond to authenticity.

Galaxy brain take: The "He" in the song is Jarvis. What he has done to everyone is turn them against AI singers like Anna Indiana. Now she can't even sit in her favorite café sipping her tea on a Saturday without being judged by the entire town, all of us.
the silent screams are when we laugh at his goofs and gaffs. they're silent because anna can't hear them. but she knows they're there.
Actually, she can't sit at the cafe cuz she's an Ai and cant sit anywhere
Or, alternatively, the "He" in the song was just the next most likely word according to the prediction list. Because this was written by a bot without any intention beyond stringing together words that look like song lyrics, and any meaning we read into it is purely ours and made up.
I think if this video shows anything, it’s that having an actual human sing a song (even if it’s a poorly written one) gives it so much more heart than an AI ever could. I’m sure you weren’t particularly passionate about “betrayed by anchorage” but the song actually felt like you know.. a song simply because a human was putting effort into singing it
The ai have no idea what it's saying so can't emote to it
Step one is really just to not menacingly stare down the camera.
not even really. there are vocaloid songs with a lot of emotion and passion in them. it’s possible to make vocal synths sound human, it’s just work that ai dude bros don’t want to put in. that being said, vocaloid songs are like. 99% written and produced by real people. no ‘ai’, just real artists making music

i really want him to do covers of AI songs (if he has that ability) just so you can see something I like to call "passion vs production" the means of which you make something reflect in the feelings inside of them. something something. we all kinda get it.

The bank they got this voice from is also used by vocaloid producers, they just suck at it lmao
I know you've already been corrected but vocaloid isn't ai. Every part of the production is manual, there's nothing auto generated by code.
To your credit the only AI voicebanks are Teto (SynthV) and another VB that escapes me that was made in 2014-ish to mimic your cadance and sing the song for you if you dont like your voice. Both still have manual tuning functions, though.

Very uncanny valley
It's a program like wombo, where it only really works facing forward, as it essentially raises the image with a face model, the fact that they chose a generated image where she's facing a bad angle for the program is, frankly, insane
Who knew AI's default was being an angsty teen in the midwest in 2010?

Same here. Didn't understand why it's a format. You aren't using static place holders 😂m. I paused to look again
Her smiling and looking directly into the “camera” while singing these depressing songs is wild 😭

Seeing Jarvis critique somebody's (apparently unacceptable) coding is something I didn't know I wanted to watch so much lmao. I have approximately no idea what he was even saying but the sheer disgust on his face about concatenated code was absolutely hilarious.
That was his whole channel when he first started yt
It's honestly something a very novice programmer would do. Like we're talking probably just followed a tutorial a month ago and pieced all the things together with crappy dollar store glue
Apparently SynthV is on em because EULA/TOS says you ain't supposed to play off the voice bank as your own thing
WOOOO LETS GOOOOO
Aw yeah
good.
thank god
@@Chou-shi yea they have to make the lyrics and like tune the vocaloid they use to sing it how they want which make each vocaloid-Ps tuning unique
Also the music is still written and the instrumental is made my a real person just the singing isn’t so vocaloid has soul behind it
This… this just literally soulless it’s ai the people who make vocaloid are real people behind the screen Anna Whatever isnt
@@Chou-shiand sadly that is true that’s all crypto wants
@@Chou-shiyeah, they don’t actually care about the craft, still funny tho that they’re still using a vocaloid-type synthesizer anyways, they’re just doing it rlly badly lol
the difference is AI people want AI to cut corners and replace the work and time that people put into creating music and vocaloid, while still having the appearance of a computer girl singing and performing it will always be songs produced by real people who are passionate and talented at what they do but yeah i get where you’re coming from
Wild how this dude fucking around and being silly sounds so much better than the damn robot singing.
i think why the whole "emo" thing feels weirder than the other ai singers is bc happy pop songs usually ALWAYS sound artificial.
C'mon now.
Me: can we watch Hannah Montana

This is the Rebecca Black we have at home.

Yeah they don't want that they want a weird sex appeal thing for some odd reason??
the fact that the body and neck are completely stationary while the face just kinda moves around on its own is so uncanny. i get it's ai so it's going to look uncanny just by definition but i feel like it didn't have to look _this_ bad lmao.
it's like when youtubers are joking about something so they'll say something and put their own face over someone else who's talking to mock that person, except for an entire video
And presented with full sincerity and pride
Will she spare her favorite cafe when she tears down the town?
Where else would she go to drink tea on Saturday :'(
11:00 Jarvis seemingly accidentally singing a cool ass harmony in 2nds is incredible, his impressively clear tone and natural pitch would be perfect for harmonizing with himself. Jarvis, you should really try recording some music!
All of these songs sound like they're ONE mention of Jesus away from being full out Alt Christian Rock
Very realistic, I love when singers stand 3 feet away from their mic making direct eye contact with the camera the entire song
I mean I don't believe there's anything wrong with generative AI _theoretically_ - making a program that can generate images or prose or sound isn't inherently wrong, and is (imo) cool - but the questions become "What/who did you get the data from to train this?", "What are you intending to do with this?", and "What could someone else do with this if they get a hold of it?"
I guess it's one of those "So busy asking if we could" kinda things? In an ideal universe, a generative AI could be created and used for only curiosity and entertainment's sake, with an understanding that it can't replace original work or thought, without threatening creative jobs, trained only on data obtained with permission...but we don't live anywhere close to that world. And that makes me sad.
@@hallucinatedletter also, just now noticing, love the username
@@hallucinatedletter Eh, I don't think there's really an ethical issue with using the data for AI. Seems fine as long as you label what its producing and the AI isn't being used by big companies to get around paying people (or ChatGPT content going unchecked and incorrectly touted as fact and taking up search results - but that's an unethical use of AI rather than a question of the data sets).
An AI going full on existential crisis moments after being activated is... actually quite relatable.
Makes sense, since AI is just copying humans on the internet
Angst and existential dread included, batteries sold separately 😂
@@CherryCherub97wasn’t there an AI trained on Twitter that suddenly became a Nazi? It feels like a much smaller symptom of the same problem that happened there.
an AI character being named Anna Indiana is as dystopian as it gets, some people might even say it's too on the nose.
also this just convinced me that the songs in Disney's Wish was DEFINITELY written by AI, because it's not just the lyrics, it's also the very weird emphasis on words and the cluttered rhythm.
Im concerned for Jarvis calling out AI bots. Theyll remember this when they take over
they'll make him sing about drinking his mama's milk
They'll remember this *if* they take over.
Roko’s basilisk be like
What genuinely blows my marbles out of my eye sockets is that. Vocaloid exists. You pay the price of a voice and bam no one else to pay. Hell, want free? Utau. Now you can make ur own. They’re just making more steps to Hatsune Miku
they used synth v which is another program like utau or vocaloid. They just tried to pass it off like there own.
i think they just think its more impressive or easier to have the AI write the song too (since with a vocaloid voice bank you write the song yourself), or they think the accents of most vocaloid banks sound bad or too “roboty”
@@cybernetik. like notebreak said, synth v was used and tends to sound more realistic with minimal effort
And an ai writing a song is so. Idk. Soulless? Distressing? It’s very strange to me as someone who makes art. That’s just my opinion on that matter and if others think otherwise I’m not gonna say anything to change their mind
@@Forcommentingpurposes yeah synth v has ai options. If they had someone record the song first using the ai features making tuning a lot easier.
AI “artists”
Loving this because my now ex friend was exactly that brand of person as an AI artist
Petition to get Jarvis to drop a full song. That voice was just heavenly.
okay but are we going to acknowledge that jarvis could make a very successful career in country music with that voice
Or at the very least he'd absolutely SLAY at karaoke night.
Not sure if he has any sort of musical background (wouldn't be surprised if he did honestly) but he has a great foundation if he's a complete novice. I was like "whoah! 😮"
he sounds like darius rucker
that’s exactly what i was thinking
Why country? Gross.
the way jarvis’s tech knowledge actually brought something more new to this dunk session i love it i’m crying
Truly bold of them to display their rudimentary code for everyone to dissect.
It doesn't say "You are an expert songwriter," it says,"You an an expert." Why do they even need to tell the AI that?? Does it need hyping up? 🤦♀️
As someone who is both a fan of vocaloids and vtubers... This model is so creepy. It looks like her head and body aren't connected. Her neck stretches very weirdly when her head moves. I can't imagine a vtubers going live knowing this is a problem or not freaking out if their model started doing this.
That's because vtuber model are made by artist.
That model is full AI so.... there is no conscience about it's fabrication and design
because Vtuber actually made with various parts to make them move while AI art is just warping the image to create an illussion of it, which is why it feels really off to look at.
Because the vocaloids and vtubers are made by human artists who know what they're doing
I saw someone else saying that vocaloid is more like an instrument rather than some kind of "cheat code", and honestly that's accurate
@@blaze129 that's how I feel as well. There's still a real person with real emotions, and each creator uses the tool for something very different.

he sang it better than her that’s for sure
yeah like that was insane????? he genuinely can fucking singi was flabbergasted
13:06 the all knowing ai isn’t sad,
The all knowing ai interprets humans as miserable, which says something worse lmao
Hope this helps and remember that Hatsune Miku is our queen 💙✨
jarvis’ singing sounded SO much better than the ai’s just because it sounded like it was coming from a real person
I do find it funny that they couldn't be bothered to buy a commercial AI voicebank and the full software so they could use it for its full potential, though.
how did they fuck up Eleanor so bad?????? omg
Omg, I KNEW she sounded familiar. Absolutely disappointing that they use an amazing software like SynthV and deliver zero substance with it.
What bothers me the most is how it felt like the company behind Anna Indiana was trying to pass off SynthV as THEIR program. I highly doubt they mentioned using SynthV with the making of the video.
It's SynthV Natalie
@@NyanSukaato The footage in the first one uses Eleanor. Natalie would've had a gray pitch line.
Sounds like a Mii from Tomogatchi Life after I make it sing about the penguins in the Antarctic dying under the pop sound.
"sitting at my favorite cafe sipping my tea, it's Saturday" is giving "gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal"
Thank you.
fellow passionate vsynther, couldn't agree more
(I think its actually using eleanor forte lite though)
yeah I was gonna say, I don’t think it’s Solaria but it’s definitely very similar to hers
edit: according to other comments, it’s Eleanor
Another synth nerd here, I definitely think they just messed with Eleanor lite's settings to maybe pitch her down a little or something? Definitely has ellies strange pronunciations LMAO

There's def, potential in the lyricism of the song, so if he edited and sang it, it could slap.
