Typical studio mentality - lets put out a movie that isn't really what everybody was hoping for, and if it does well, then we'll do what everybody was hoping for.
Yes - a TIRED-ASS studio mentality. Never ceases to amaze me how corporate suit-and-tie types think that putting out more installments of a franchise that remotely (and I am being generous) resembles the source material is a good move. Especially when: A)Bruce Boxleitner (TRON himself) wasn't even asked to come back; B)Said suit-and-ties are NOW RECENTLY considering the Sam/Quorra dynamic as an afterthought, rather than a logical point of continuation in the first place🙄; C)Said suit-and-tie types come up with all kinds of excuses to not feature Garrett Hedlund as an important part of this installment. If there is all this material left on the cutting room floor from TRON Legacy (i.e.,TRON: The Next Day, and deleted scenes and the like that are on the TRON Legacy BluRay) then there is NO EXCUSE. Also tired of the whole Star Wars/Marvel argument - yes, Star Wars and Marvel can print money but stop acting like that is the only reason why the house of mouse still can't completely respect the TRON I.P.
i genuinely can’t believe we’re getting so much new tron stuff. it’s my favorite franchise and for years i felt like we weren’t going to get anything anymore, yet here we are!
The red program does not look just like Ares. The only constant is the red color. Differences: 1)There is no triangular identity disk on that concept art; 2)Said program has his hair up in a "bun"; Ares does not; 3)The circuit patterns on the back of the program in that concept art look more akin to the original TRON style (from the ENCOM 511 mainframe) as well as the style in the TRON 2.0 game. Also the necklace Sam has DOES contain Kevin Flynn's code and the Shiva Laser has a water tank at the bottom that still has some of his molecules in it. SOURCES: 1)The TRON Legacy Second Screen feature on the BluRay special features; There is a feature that shows what Sam is uploading into his flash drive necklace and it shows the filenames; 2)An out-of-print online article from Stanford University published before Legacy came out that explains in further detail how the Shiva Laser works. The article was done with an advisor from Tron Legacy's production staff; 3)The digitizing scene with the orange in the first TRON film.
I've been waiting for a sequel to Tron: Legacy since I walked out of the IMAX theater with my 3D glasses on in 2010. I looked like Sam Flynn back then, now I look like Kevin Flynn.
I see what you mean, yet, it is TR3N now and has been since Ares went into production. Also the motorcycle on the Mexico set doesn't match the Ducati in Legacy. *POSSIBLE SPOILER: And there is a set picture for Ares that shows Sam's container apartment.
just a heads up, i saw a screener for this about a month and a half ago. at that time none of the NIN music had been in it and it was instead placeholdered by the tron legacy soundtrack. the reshoots in mexico and the scene you posted about the motorcycle isnt much of anything. just a epilogue showing where ares is after the film has ended. essentially zero trace of Legacy is in this film aside from stylistic choices. Also, the reason that flynn Sr. shows up in a more purple light is because they go back to the ORIGINAL grid in Ares. Flynn is aged but its still his earlier hippy self from the first film and no real knowledge of the events of legacy
It would be stupid for Sam to not be in Tron Ares. Like, if Sam is in Vancouver during the events of Tron Ares, that means he can see all those recognizers and bikes obliterating everything. Sam can see all of those. So if he’s not in the movie, it would make no sense. Unless he’s on Vacation.
No on nin god no. This is a movie made off from an 80s movie. Legacy did amazing with daft punk. Should have brought in a tencho artist not a heavy metal artist. I think the music will kill the movie for alot of people. Like me.
NIN is a great fit. If they were the inspiration for the awesome Silent Hill franchise composer Akira Yamaoka, as well as NIN's own previous forays into gaming and voiceovers, they will work.
But given Disney have little faith with last 2 tron movies but I doubt it's gonna filled with woke dei and esg crap but atleast they Disney gave creative control during production with little to no interference and budget is somewhere around godzilla minus one range
Thanky you for bringing all these informations about the Tron Franchise in a video.
Great job dude

Yeah it's ridiculous I agree with you. I wish Disney wouldn't play games but oh well.

Yeah of course! I love this franchise so much. Thank you for watching my video :)

Oh no oh no I hope they make it good or ill be mad I've waited years for this
I have had some thoughts about Tron area not being a official Tron 3 I rather think it’s a side story

@cjsvoiceworks6008 dont care what you say nope not the right fit for this movie.
We will see in Oct. 2025.
No way, NIN is a fantastic choice. NIN isn't a metal band, they're more an industrial group, ie metal tinged dance music-ish.
@@kurtiskeys483nin is a great choice. this movie is going darker than legacy and nin does good dark electronic music
Disney BETTER NOT WOKIFY this/these.
edit: I'm not a nine inch nails fan, but that sounded AWESOME

We really need the sequel for Legacy
There are characters who need to be develop!
I want to know more about Quorra and Castor ! 🤍
