Even you contradict yourself when saying "just because it was the original idea doesn’t mean it’d be good" just for saying at the end that you trust Kosinski blindly when, surprise, Kosinski himself wanted to explore the idea of programs exploring the real world on Ascension!
MY THOUGHTS: 1)There is an easy way they can bring Kevin back: when he was digitized by the Shiva Laser in both TRON and Legacy, his molecules were converted into digital code. Once he exited the grid, his molecules were put back together. Anyway, if you delete a program, which is made of lines of code, there are still traces of it in your computer 😉- UNLESS you wipe the hard drive clean. At the end of Legacy, Sam uploaded a TON of the programs and data from Kevin Flynn's private server to his flash drive. There is also a Second Screen feature on the BluRay that ACTUALLY shows what Sam was uploading to his flash drive, too. Plus, if Kevin Flynn's data is still in the hard drive of his private server, then that means that CLU 2.0's is too, and Sam may have also defragged the hard drive to separate the 2 lines of code😉. 2)ALSO in the teaser trailer, that background Jeff Bridges is standing in, is the tank CLU 1.0 was in when he was looking for the file Dillinger and the MCP stole, inside the ENCOM 511 the server from the first film. I think Kevin Flynn and CLU 1.0 have somehow been merged together by Sam, and he uploaded it to the ENCOM server from his flash drive (piggybacking off my previous point). Also there is a set pic that shows the film crew filming Sam Flynn's shipping container apartment on the harbor😉. 3)The Recognizer - actually resembles some of the different recognizer designs in TRON UPRISING. Looks like they tweaked it some and actually reminds me partially of some of Michael Bay's Transformers designs, LOL😂😅 **POSSIBLE SPOILER (the set photos actually show this): Greta Lee and Hassan Minahj are ENCOM employees (Greta said this herself in a recent interview) at an event called PARANOIACON which is to celebrate the release of SPACE PARANOIDS 7. She plays a character named Eve Kim who is a programmer at ENCOM.**
I had always hoped for any sequel for Tron they would have introduced Jet Bradley from the Tron 2.0 game... Could you imagine a team up with Jet and Sam? That would have been great!!
Definitely a huge Red Flag with them moving away from Flynn’s son saga. That was the perfect setup seems like they are trying to skip that which makes Zero sense and I hope so kind of way they include it otherwise would be a major dropped ball.
I been a fan of both the old and the new films. Seen the first too many times to count, and enough times to recall near every minute of the film in a mental playback if I wanted. And seen the new films about twice each. The old film will be an ageless classic to me. And the new films help bring it all back with some new visuals and stories to tell. Not everyone is going to be pleased with any of the films. But I can and am pleased with each of them. I, as an old-time die-hard fan of the original, and a big enough fan of the new films. I greatly look forward to seeing this new film also.
A Tron 3 film, without Tron in the film... yeah. What was Bad about the last Tron film was "Tron" was barely even in it. We got a version that was nonspeaking and never saw his face and that was supposed to mean he was an Upgraded version. Just felt lame. I at least hope we get a better de-aged version of Clu but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I guess you might just call me a true fan. I watched the original movie at the cinema as well as it’s sequel and i can’t wait for another movie in the series, plus seeing that Kevin Flynn is returning brightens my day
Guessing they retconned Quorra’s involvement since Olivia Wilde hated so much working on Legacy she didn’t want to return to the franchise. And this was the logical step since Jared Leto’s Ares has always been on the original draft for Ascension.
I remember attending Art Center and hearing that our Vizcom teacher was leaving to go work on Tron Legacy… honestly up until that point, I had never really cared to watch the original. But then, as the teaser came out (with the light cycle fight through the mountains that never made it into the movie and then hearing the Daft Punk album come out before the movie’s release, I was SOLD!) I hope they do justice to Legacy and somehow bring back that cast!!
As a long time Tron fan I'm pretty disappointed that they seem to have abandoned the Sam/Quorra story. I get the feeling this is going to follow the trend of all new disney movies.
It's one of the greatest animated series of all time. It felt like a betrayal back in the day when Disney pushed it to Midnight and cancelled it. The nice thing is some of the Uprising plans post season 1 got leaked a few years back. I might make a video breaking all of it down.
I’m not 100% but doesn’t blue and that orange/red make purple? That could be why the dudes background is purple because he’s kind of a combination or somewhere in between. Or maybe Bridges is pullingpulling a Sam Jackson and saying, “I’ll come back only if my background is purple and there’s yellow M&Ms in my dressing room”. Probably. Maybe.
I am actually excited about this. I kinda wish they do bring Bruce, Garrett or even Olivia back. Jeff's role in the movie is an interesting one. But i think they should explore more of the grid like where do the ISOS came from? And were their purpose? Im also interested to see the many worlds/systems they'll be hoping into. I do agree with you when it comes to them relying heavily on nostalgia rather than a good story, I think they should like stop focusing on that and rather try to make a good story for once.
TRON has always been ahead of it's time and brilliant, despite being owned and shelved by Disney. The original left a lot of unanswered questions that maybe will finally be revealed, but I doubt it. If there is a way for Disney to F' UP this franchise like they've done to every other one, THEY WILL DO IT.
dude your gonna hate it no matter what... Star Wars fan ie Hater ... Disney cant do anything , but they did the other 2 that many love . So your logic makes no sense at all,.
The loss of sense of instant death with the light cycles annoyed me. In the original it was this terrifying microsecond death, which made sense because it's a machine. They're not _really_ motorbikes. The new one looked soft, the old one has edges you could shave on. I wish we had _more_ Tron but now without daft punk! 😢
Loved Tron and Legacy was one of my all time favorites! Man I hope they don't mess this up! Leto movies are usually big expectation but don't land well!!! 🤞🏽
Depending on the era of the grid you're operating in, purple is for systems utilities or for programs from a company that has been retconned out of cannon.
Ughh with Disney now, I am worried. I loved the last Tron it was awesome and the soundtrack was great. I am a musician and not really a fan of electronic music but I do have mad respect for Daft Punk and thought the soundtrack was killer. I loved how it went into the theme at the ending credits. I am like, dam thats a good tune.
Hey Derezzed, I just examined the image of what is to be expected that it might be a circular disc, it is DEFFINITLY a circular disc, if you look at the image more closely, you can see that one of the disc's edges is more rounder then the straight edge that is a triangle.
I LOVE the TRON movies, I went to see LEGACY about 4 or 5 TIMES when it was in theaters and I LOVE TRON: Uprising, I even bought 2 of the TRON: Legacy LEGO sets and made a couple of my own Lightcycles and 1 Recognizer MOC in hope of finding some custom made TRON Minifigs for them, HELL I even tried making custom minifigs myself once using Decal paper and my Laptop but that failed and I even tried a website in order to create them but for some reason the website I tried to do it on wasn't excepting my Debit card for some reason and I wasn't pleased with that.
1:05 I can answer your question on that. When Quorra was injured we saw we saw Kevin use her disk which had a copy of her code that he repaired in order to repair her. When Sam jumped back into the real world he was in possession of Kevin’s disk and therefore had a copy of Kevin. When Sam materializes and shuts down The Grid he is wearing a glowing flash drive, the flash drive that would carry Kevin Flynn’s code and therefore a way to rematerialize him.
I’m a huge Tron fan and seeing the shots people took at the Disney event. I’m skeptical, but I want to keep an open mind about Tron: Ares. I am in fact a CLU fan and named my AI after CLU in both Tron and Tron: Legacy. I believe Jeff Bridges is CLU3 in this version of Tron and the reason why I say that is because Kevin Flynn and CLU2 integrated. Quora said that if that would happen because of Flynn’s age . He wouldn’t survive. Neither of them would, but it possible for Flynn to have another digital copy of myself onto the Encom company which is possible.
I thought legacy was a decent storyline with brilliant visuals and Tron Uprising was such a boss side story. I was devastated when it was canceled. One of the only decent cartoons during that time yet only one season. Glad to hear there's a return to the Tron universe.
Pretty simple to figure out. At the end of Tron Legacy Sam and Quorra made it out with Kevin's disc. A copy of everything he was in and out of the Grid. Easy to bring him back. Sam backed up everything on the mainframe on the small drive he put around his neck at the end of the film.
It's notable that the soundtrack is by NIN and not Trent Reznor. That really tells what direction the sound is gonna go, as well as Atticus' involvement. SUPER stoked that NIN is doing it.
Tron Legacy was a feature length Daft Punk music video. It was as much a follow up to Interstella 5555 as it was a sequel to Tron. The big news for Tron Ares is the soundtrack will be scored by Nine Inch Nails. And the big question is, how will their take compare to Daft Punk?
No Bruce Boxleitner in Tron Ares would be the equivalent of a Batman titled movie without Batman. Lots of people don't realize that the first Tron movie was easily 10+ years ahead of it's time and is why only early computer nerds appreciated it. There was a segment about Tron on the Donohue talk show and a woman in the audience said she loved the movie because worked with computers and was a user. The audience giggled at her statement because back then "user" meant someone hooked on drugs. Tron was essntially an anti-virus/firewall program and this was 8 years before Norton released their first product. All of the computer related terms pretty much everyone uses today was very foreign to most of the public back then.
That style difference between classic and new TRON reminds me of how the Multiverse brought justified unification of all past Marvel projects. I'm really interested in how this is going to unfold.

The best part of the Tron movies is seeing the world of the grid, but it looks like we’ll still get to see some of it in this movie. This idea of an invasion story doesn’t particularly interest me even if it was with the characters from Legacy. I agree that Bruce should be the one returning instead of Jeff
I really hoped they would show lots of more gameplay so to speak back in the Legacy movie, sadly the movie cost was high due to the 3d rendering since Avatar was the new craze! sadly they cast Jared Leto who overplays every single role he is in!
tron is not tron without the grid. i dont get the hype from the community seeing that it is in the real world. its like getting excited about a pirates of the caribbean movie that never goes to the sea.
The original plan for TRON: ASCENSION was that the grid comes to the real world, I don’t understand why people dislike this at all
@@ariesatrio3119 bro just because that was the original idea does not mean its a good idea. people keep using that argument like it means anything. besides, garret hedlund and olivia wilde were both available at the time with kosinski, whose first project was literally legacy. now apparently none of them are on this project and if there's one director i would trust to take such a risky move with the franchise it's kosinski.
@@wonderboytheartist Not Only Olivia Wilde HATED working on Legacy so much she didn’t wanna return to the franchise even when she was "available"; but also Kosinski himself gave his blessing to Joachim Rønning when they met to talk about the Tron franchise.
You overvalue both Kosinski and Daft Punk as if they created the franchise on their own, when the beauty of Tron is when creators give their OWN interpretation of what it means to be human in a digital simulation.
Even you contradict yourself when saying "just because it was the original idea doesn’t mean it’d be good" just for saying at the end that you trust Kosinski blindly when, surprise, Kosinski himself wanted to explore the idea of programs exploring the real world on Ascension!
MY THOUGHTS:
1)There is an easy way they can bring Kevin back: when he was digitized by the Shiva Laser in both TRON and Legacy, his molecules were converted into digital code.
Looks like they tweaked it some and actually reminds me partially of some of Michael Bay's Transformers designs, LOL😂😅
**POSSIBLE SPOILER (the set photos actually show this): Greta Lee and Hassan Minahj are ENCOM employees (Greta said this herself in a recent interview) at an event called PARANOIACON which is to celebrate the release of SPACE PARANOIDS 7. She plays a character named Eve Kim who is a programmer at ENCOM.**
"If it's purple, someone is going to die."
I'm excited to see this, because if it does well, maybe they'll bring back Tron: Uprising.
OG Tron…..boom, can’t beat it!!!!!
That Tron will always last because it has unmistakable style.
Without Daft Punk I'm really on the fence about Ares. Especially with Leto on board.
I had always hoped for any sequel for Tron they would have introduced Jet Bradley from the Tron 2.0 game... Could you imagine a team up with Jet and Sam? That would have been great!!
Oh lord. Disney “Girl Boss” “Best Programmer In The World” continues.
Disney hasn’t learned their lesson.
Definitely a huge Red Flag with them moving away from Flynn’s son saga. That was the perfect setup seems like they are trying to skip that which makes Zero sense and I hope so kind of way they include it otherwise would be a major dropped ball.
Yeah 100%
Tron legacy is in my top 5 fav movies
Yeah same!
it’s my top favorite movie
I been a fan of both the old and the new films. Seen the first too many times to count, and enough times to recall near every minute of the film in a mental playback if I wanted. And seen the new films about twice each.
The old film will be an ageless classic to me. And the new films help bring it all back with some new visuals and stories to tell.
Not everyone is going to be pleased with any of the films. But I can and am pleased with each of them.
I, as an old-time die-hard fan of the original, and a big enough fan of the new films. I greatly look forward to seeing this new film also.
So true! Men, you should be the TRON director advisor :)
Programs going to the real world kinda breaks the magic for me. Still excited.
I watched the original movie at the cinema as well as it’s sequel and i can’t wait for another movie in the series, plus seeing that Kevin Flynn is returning brightens my day
RIP Daft Punk
😢
For real. The Legacy soundtrack was super cool.
i havent thought, that they´ll do it. but we get this film finally.
They're going to mess up this Trilogy. What happened to Flynn's Son and the program from Tron Legacy?!
Guessing they retconned Quorra’s involvement since Olivia Wilde hated so much working on Legacy she didn’t want to return to the franchise. And this was the logical step since Jared Leto’s Ares has always been on the original draft for Ascension.
Without Bruce Boxleitner there is no TRON, period.
1:08 You don't know the definition of imploded. He exploded.
Yeah thanks for correcting me
@@DerezzedCycle we would've accepted kersploded or blowns-up too.
tron without tron is like star wars without star.
Disney please, please, PLEASE! Do not ruin this film. You did amazing with the other 2, please don't drop the ball on this one.
I'm also a Legacy nerd... I've watched the movie over and over so many times - all I want is more!
I ❤ TRON
Watch TRON: Uprising if you want to see an amazingly animated take on the TRON universe. The show is basically animated graphic design.
That this series was cancelled was just tragic.
Probably. Maybe.
Both the original Tron and Tron:Legacy were fantastic for what they were.
As a 82 baby I love both movies.
Tron legacy would look stunning in 4k and that's what i have been waiting for i think it's a very good film
For a movie named for the title character Tron needs to be the focus. Tron battleling noobs would be so cool!
I also think there are Multiple Flynns in Each system. I think when i user enters in a copy is created and stored and Flynn has been in may systems
This film looks awesome!
Love orig and Legacy, fingers crossed if this is at least half as good as those, I’ll take it.
I'm thinking it's not Flynn but a new character. A fusion of Flynn and CLU
Loved Tron and Legacy was one of my all time favorites! Man I hope they don't mess this up! Leto movies are usually big expectation but don't land well!!! 🤞🏽
The purple could be a new faction of program?
its a methaphorical and litteral combination of Kevin Flynn and Clu.
Why is it purple? What does red plus blue create?
1:05 I can answer your question on that. When Quorra was injured we saw we saw Kevin use her disk which had a copy of her code that he repaired in order to repair her. When Sam jumped back into the real world he was in possession of Kevin’s disk and therefore had a copy of Kevin. When Sam materializes and shuts down The Grid he is wearing a glowing flash drive, the flash drive that would carry Kevin Flynn’s code and therefore a way to rematerialize him.
I agree, NIN doing the soundtrack got me hyped.
Torn uprising was a really good back story I hope they use a similar story line with how ai has come to be.
Kevin Flynn's purple costume along with Ares' red costume would make sense for the trending T-Mobile Vs Verizon meme. 🤣
I loved the original as a boy and Tron Legacy was good and I’m interested to see the new one.
Where is Tron (Bruce Boxleitner) in the Tron movies anymore?
Tron 3 Yay! I like the pick for musician. not sure as it is early on the rest.
Turn up!
That is a nice rally spec audi
Purple was the color of hacker programs in the game Tron2.0!!!! Makes sense yay
!!!
You disappoint me Cillian! How could you turn Tron down? It's an awesome franchise.
I thought legacy was a decent storyline with brilliant visuals and Tron Uprising was such a boss side story. I was devastated when it was canceled. One of the only decent cartoons during that time yet only one season. Glad to hear there's a return to the Tron universe.
I think the name means a lot Ares is The God of War, he wants to start an UPRISING, and repair a tarnished LEGACY
...So we're getting a cross of Automan and a bike?
I grew up with Tron: Legacy my entire life and it even influenced the kind of music I listen to.
Who is doing the music? Which is very important
Please get it right Disney,....it's called TRON, TRON is the hero.
LOL Dainese logo, they do have Tron Bikes.
That style difference between classic and new TRON reminds me of how the Multiverse brought justified unification of all past Marvel projects.
I'm really interested in how this is going to unfold.
Noo dont want it overlapping into the real world keep it in the Grid.... bring back Tron Uprising need another season
And here I am wanting the 4k Tron and legacy to be released.
Trent Reznor is a great artist and composer but Daft Punk was a perfect pick for the music in Tron.
There is no way making a Tron movie without Jeff Bridges character.
Bridges rocking the Dianese logo.!
Correct me if I’m wrong, this is a Tron movie without Tron?
Pretty much
Agree - if you’re using Tron as a name, the character themselves is needed. Giving someone else the moniker is kind of an Ohio move.
Yeah that's the biggest red flag imo.
@@DerezzedCycle dude no it isnt because people like a connection. really how would it connect. we might but the general public wouldn't which shows why you don't work in the bussiness.
