Rakim without even thinking about it!
A lot of rappers bit Rakim's lyrics, and then they put it in Albums 😂
You have to think again..
I may go with the God,but not without thinking about it..I mean it's Kane 🤔
Damn you must not have listened to Kane much. It’s not as easy as it first seems.
Will Smith’s Biggest ever hit, before he hit Chris Rock, is *”RAKiM”* *if u know, U KNOW….*
RA had that slow monotone flow which was revolutionary at that time, but Kane came with that witty wordplay and Punchlines like Kool Moe Dee before him and later took it to another level with Lord Finesse and Big L
Rakim without question. Not even close His overall body of work is much better. Kane fell off hard trying to go pop. He tried to redeem himself later in his career but it was too late.
Could not have said it better
Rakim is another level
Rakim thought process was ridiculous....the way that he would put words together and at the same time make u really think about whats he's trying to say and he had done all of this back in 1986 🤯🤯
You can't really go wrong on choosing RA,Kane,G-Rap or KRS.You just can't go wrong 4real.But I'm not Mad at no one Who decides to choose 1 or the others.😎👍🏾
BOTH FOR ME!!!!! TWO OF THE GREATEST EVER!!!!!!!!
KANE🔥
For me, Rakim is my #1 all-time, and not really close, but my #2 is BDK!!
The real battle the world waiting on!!
Both!!!!!!!!!! Those Are Rap, Godfathers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me. I'll say Rakim
Rakim was “the first to ever let a rhyme flow down the Nile”
Peace to the God MC!
In a battle, Kane..
“ I changed the time with the Rhymes that I thought of, so here goes so more to put your new world in order” Rakim
Both Rakim n Kane
They were different. During that time you had Rakim, Kane. Nobody was at their level back then. Nas comes from Rakim, Jay comes from Kane. Rakim had lots of quotables. Nas has quotables. Probably some pure hip hop and consciousness comes more on KRS branches.
Both Rakim and Kane were lethal on the mic. Both great lyricists. Paid in full album is the best hip hop album ever made in my opinion, so I got to go with Rakim.
KRS ONE has a bigger library than ALL mentioned love Rakim love Kane BUT damn them NY dude's dis the hardest mc's
King Asiatic Nobody equal 😂😂😂😂
*The R..* ..🐐🔥🎙️👑🎤☪️🕎
The R 🙏🏼
BD Kane !!!! Tous les jours!!! Daddy's home !!!
Kane for sure
Kane all day
The God MC was just different!!!
Repeat after me (BigDaddyKane)
Big Daddy Kane all day
👽BDK is the 👑 of giving lyrical Gymnastics to Acrobatics A%$ Whoopings to Sayonara your Soul is tooking He do damage crush another victim wit ease like Hercules Hand over your GOD Degree.... AmenRa' ase' ✌🏾
Big Daddy Kane
Cheers to RAKIM. He was SUPER SICK.
The R. Period.
Drink n both
BIG DADDY KANE ALL DAY !!!!!!
BDK is a Smooth GOD 👽Mc l like Rakim to He's not thee only GOD Mc"
Doin it with the R
Rakim all day.
Shock G rest in peace.
Shit is easy....all hail the honorable!
Love both but Kane use to look like a real boss to me when I was a kid he was that guy he didn't half step
Nobody beats the “R”for a reason,he challenged the mc to think harder when they put the pen to the paper,Rakim made hip hop the art form it became, and all the greats that came after him will tell you this
Rakim is legend
RAKIM!!!! No questions!!!
Rakim 🔥
Kane is leader of new skool
Rakim is Pioneer of rapping
Respect to the both
Kane is lame
They both leaders of the new school and pioneers of rapping. They’re the same age (born 1968) and dropped their debuts only 1 year apart. They both changed the art of rap forever more. Ra has the better discography in my opinion.
They came out at the same time
@@Sadlerfly exactly. Far too many people just post without doing any type of history.
@@vernonjohnson1198not as lame.as this comment
❤ Rakim ❤
Although I love KANE…you gotta go with the R just off how he changed the game with the flow. Don’t get it twisted my personal favorite is King Asiatic Nobody’s Equal
RAKIM best Lyricists
It's The R also all day everyday...But Absolutely, No disrespect to Kane but Paid In Full, then the video for it, changed the streets in my part of Bmore...Before R we was Cool J, then after R, we went EPMD... There was definitely a vibe we kept attaching to. But they were all Great. The culture needed every last one of them. I only wish they saw the $$ like Ye and these guys do now. Salute
BDK is my all-time Fav but the God...is the God!
Rakim changed the cadence of hip hop, he brought Flow to rap💯
Facts
Facts.
That's dope
The first to ever let a rhyme flow down the Nile
@lindseyhammonds526 try every part. Kane's only shot was in a 1v1 battle because that's how his style was oriented. Rakim's pen was superior in several ways, flow unmatched, creativity incredible. He dropped before Kane too. He was the one that created the lines other rappers color in between, including Kane to a degree. Without Rakim Kane wouldn't have pushed himself quite as hard.
💥 Rakim 💥
Rakim Came in wit that Flow and Style and he Had more Albums all Fire 🔥
RAKiM & KANE BOTH GOT 7
BD Kane is dope.
Rakim is the inspiration to most of the best to ever do it. Nas wrote a tune especially about him.! 🎤
True.
Love how everybody put thought into it..Bless Both Legends..And bless everybody up here Peace.
The first God MC Rakim 🎤
Only!
Rakim is in another level 💪
it’s weird,i wanna say Rakim but i listened to way more Kane than Eric B. & Rakim.
Kane had the stage presence and cold ass bars, but… Just say that The R was your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper… Case closed. Salute to both them kings for real 👑🥂🎉🙏
1. Kool G Rap= The Goat
2. Kane= Swag and Raw wordplay
3. Rakim= Deep God Mc
4. KRS= the teacher
5. LL= ladies loved legend in leather.........
The 5 pillars that forever changed rhyming
The god MC
The God MC Period
I choose rakim but Big Daddy Kane though and KRS those three on a different level
Rakim by far
Big Daddy Kane was the the Dude in his time but Rakim is ALL TIME. Kane is recreated with every new group of EMCEE's, the new hot boy of the time. Rakim is always the same and never replaced with a new face.
In order:
Rakim, KRS, Kane.
That's 3 of hip-hop's top 10.
Rakim
Kool G Rap
Kane
KRS One
If Grap ain't number 1 he's 1A best and most creative barz ever
Rakim, LL, KRS 1, Slick Rick, G Rap, then Kane
@@redvlandro the four headed monster
@@michaelpratchett4415 why don't more ppl talk about LL being great
It's HARD , both both both
It’s not hard,, It’s Rakim
@@vernonjohnson1198Nope, it's BDK. Long Lives The Kane. The Undisputed G.O.A.T. 🤴🏾 🤴🏾 🤴🏾 🐐 🐐 🐐

Rakim is the best
I got to say both i grew up listening to both of them give them they flowers true mc 💯💯🔥🔥
Rakim: Substance
Kane: Flow
Finally, someone who knows what they are talking about. Those who choose Rakim usually choose him based on his content. I can dig that if you feel like what Rakim had to say was better than what Kane was talking about. That's fine. But to say that Rakim was a better rapper than Kane as far as flow and the execution of his rhymes then that's just pure and utter nonsense!!! Kane was definitely the better rapper all day.
@@godflintin no way is kane touchin' rakim on the mic rakim invented flow
@@shawnbowers192 If Rakim invented flow then Kane perfected it. I don't know what you guys are listening to when you hear a Rakim song. Rakim's flow was very basic and elementary compared to Kane's.
In the song 'Smooth Operator', Kane said, "CONFUSE and LOSE, ABUSE and BRUISE the CREWS who CHOOSE to USE my name wrong, they pay DUES."
Rakim wasn't flowing like that. Rakim didn't have intricate rhyme patterns like that.
In the song 'Set It Off' Kane said, "cause I get ILL and KILL at WILL, teaching a SKILL that's REAL you're no FRILL, so just stand STILL and CHILL as I BUILD, science I DRILL until your rhymes FILL your head up..."
Again, Rakim wasn't flowing like that, and he certainly did not display the same level of lyrical acrobatics that Kane did.
Rakim couldn't flow like Kane at all. Man, I can be here all day hitting you with Quotables from Kane that displays his lyrical dexterity. Rakim had the same basic flow and rhyme pattern on every song fast or slow.
@@godflint Hahaha my nigga you need to go thru Ra catalog all over again if you haven't before.
@@diated.ghettochild Eric B and Rakim made 4 albums together. The 1st 2 were classics. The 3rd album was dope, but I wouldn't put it at classic status and they're 4th album (Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em) was aiight. Which album do you want me to go through again?
Rocky's name is Rakim, so
This was a tough question
The first 5yrs of their career
But after that Rakim easily
It was not tough ,,, Rakim single handly changed hip hop
You might say that Kane is stylistically better ( by a little), but Rakim changed the way the music ( vocals) of rap for so many after him. He ushered in a more monotone seriousness of the vocals that influenced so many, along with the substance of the lyrics
The thing is…I own more music from Big Daddy Kane…plus, the kid is from Brooklyn. Just like me.
So it’s BDK season.
Krs ,The 18th letter, then Kane ❤🖤💚 🎤🎚🎵🎧
Kane had 1 and a half classic albums and I’m a Kane guy (pause)
Its a big daddy thing *
And his first album was solid .
Rakim and Eric b every album was arguably a classic till the breakup .
Then 18th letter classic by rakim
And the 7 seals .
His new album flawless .
Rakyim is the greatest LEGENDARY of all TIMES!!I SALUTE YOU SIR!!!!
Both legends but I give the nod to Kane for flow, humour, and substance.
Rakim Easy!!
IMO- “Paid In Full” is the single greatest album in the history of hip-hop. If an alien came to earth and asked “Show me hip-hop”.. Besides graffiti, break dancing & beat -boxing, “Paid in Full” would be all he needed.
Illmatic is better than paid in full
@@joeljoseph2028 Not in a million years. And I love Illmatic.
@@rawkris so u saying they are not on the same level

I’m taking KRS-One over both of them. But continue….
The GOD MC RAKIM
In order
Rakim
Krs-One
Big Daddy Kane
I had kane before Krs-One, however the stuff Krs-One been putting out the last few years have been fire. 50 more years of hip hop, the beginning, Knock'em out, the street light album is fire. Go back and check his discography.
Kane is nice but there's only one Microphone fiend, One Leader, One R, and One god emcee!
🔥🎤
I taking BIG DADDY KANE!!!
The R 🔈📼🎤🐐
RAW and Set if off impressed me more than the Paid in Full album. Both legends though.
On tracks, Rakim. In live battles, Big Daddy Kane.
Valid point
I don't know how this is valid when u NEVER saw Ra in a battle. People hear things and run with it without researching its proof😮
@reggiemunch it's not the lyrics people are attracted to. It's the punchlines and the live performances that people are attracted to. Rakim is a metaphorical Mc more than a punchline Mc. Big Daddy Kane is more of a punchline MC. Rakim can tell a story better that could make better songs.
Rakim all day everyday
Kane fell off after his second album, for me after his 3rd album he just wasn't the same rapper, Rakim dropped the 18th letter mid 90's, lyrically better than anything kane put out after his second album
Rakim went toe to toe with prime Canibus, I just don't see Kane surviving prime Canibus. Rakim beautiful style, Rakim is not a human being😭🔥
They both legends but I think Kane is more versatile.
Both 🍷
Both and throw in KOOL G RAP in that mix
Yeah G Rap is the greatest to have ever inhale oxygen
totally agree @@lesedikosie896
That's how I put them. I say Rakim, Kane, and G. Rap are tied for 1st.
How do you throw in a cool G Rap best ever put somethin on it
G rap is definitely so many of your favorite rappers favorite rapper. But there is something to say about album sales and hits, he never reached anywhere near the amount of album sales or popularity of Rakim or Kane
Rakim without hesitation! And I love Kane. But it’s not close for me.
The Kane. Rakim rryhmes just as good as Kane but he’s too slow. Kane had more technique and was more faster flow. Plus his album cover when he debuted is fire. So it’s Kane for me
Cadence - Ice T.
Flow - Rakim.
Substance - KRS.
Wordplay - BDK.
The 4 GOATs of Mt Rushmore.
Rakim
Rakim the GOD!!!
Kane changed the culture for all black boys. We all had boxes with the part and the part in the eyebrows. He also had us pushing up to women way out our league, but I was smooth because I just listened to “I can do it right”! Lolololol 😅
FACTS. I was smooth because I listened to "Smooth Operator." #BROOLKYN #BEDSTUY dO OR DIE ALL DAY!!! LONG LIVE THE KANE!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kane is nice BUT Rakim gave birth to Kane style. No disrespect to Kane but Rakim is the master and Kane is like the student...AND Rakim NEVER sold out. He kept his lyrical integrity and NEVER went in the pop lane or the big shiny Hammer pants. You can't imagine Rakim dancing in Hammer pants lol...Rakim records is just so much deeper and more vivid than Kane records. Kane never did anything like:
"Lyrics of Fury"
"The Punisher"
"No Omega"
"Set'em Straight"
"Follow The Leader"
"Keep'em Eager To Listen"
"Run For Cover"
"Casualties Of War"
"Musical Massacre"
"Let The Rhythm Hit'em" (Which was recorded that was going at Kane)
"The 18th Letter"
Kane NEVER did records that could come close to those. AND Rakim list goes on and on.
KANE was always one of my favorites but to me RAKIM has no competition lyrically.
Especially how he would build and destroy with 5% NATION KNOWLEDGE,Jewels and lessons in his rhymes,to anyone listening that didn’t have knowledge of self wouldn’t catch the hidden layers of GOD BODY lessons in his songs.. KANE dropped KNOWLEDGE too but not on the level of RAKIM.
"soon az im gone then Nas will be born"🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤"1988"Follow The Leader💿💿
Aww man, Im a fan of both Rakim and BDK, they both are dope!!!❤
Rakim Allah all day. #1 in my top 5. FlyTy QGTM
