2021 BRONCO GETS NEW SPEAKERS. WHAT A DIFFERENCE.

  • Is the sound quality in your bronco sucky? Does it sound like a tin can? Are your speakers made of paper (lower trim level broncos)? Well ours sucked, sounded like a tin can, and yes we have paper speakers.
    The 2021 Ford Bronco Big Bend trim level will come with 4” paper speakers. They are terrible sounding. Especially the back ones.
    Well we got 2 sets of Pioneer speakers with built in tweeters to remedy this problem. You can put whatever brand floats your boat, we just happened to get Pioneer. Jill will install the right side, as Shawn already installed the left side.
    There is one thing we must point out - check your polarity. If it is reversed, the bass will suck the speaker in and not push it out. We have included a picture of the wiring diagram in the video.
    Installation is easy. Please watch the video all the way through for we may have answered any questions you may have. If you have additional questions on this that we did not cover in the video - please drop a comment, also like, share, and most importantly - subscribe! It helps us out. For sneak peeks - follow 1five1 garage on Instagram!
    As always we appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to watch our videos! Take care n stay safe!

      I dis agree, its a matter of taste, the speakers are crap and changing them can only help but , without the bass of a subwoofer, u may feel like the sound is too high pitch

    They need to come out with wire harnesses that allow us to plug right into the stock plugs. They make compact sub/amp kits that can fit under the seats. I've heard even the B&O can benefit from upgraded speakers due to them distorting at upper volumes

      If you have the B&O premium system it's digitally tuned for the bronco and all the data runs through the canbus with A2B technology you need to go to a professional and have them look at it and help you with your problems or ask them for a solution what this video is going to do is cause you a whole lot of headaches and money if you tap in the wrong wire these new vehicles are not like the old ones please call your local car stereo store that is not Best Buy or comment were you are and I'll find you the right store to go to that can handle this type of install the way this video is done it the wrong way if you take and show your local store you will see I'm not leading you in the wrong direction

    I have an OuterBanks 4door with the 12in screen and the regular speakers (NOT THE B&O) and what you removed is the same as what I had and sounded horrible. I replaced the speakers and they do sound way better, I'm in the process of getting everything I need to set an amp under the passenger seat and run my speakers from there and another amp under driver for sub . Not sure on sub I'm leaning towards an 8" sundown sub and DS18 coaxial for front 4in and 6.5 and run DS18 twitter for the back 4in.

    Here's a shocker - the B&O has the same crap speakers in the rear. Had someone on the Bronco6G forum conform that. So if that is the case what in the heck does B&O even get you lol because those rear speakers are awful. The rears also have a line level volume restriction in the head unit. If you look at the JBL sound bar install instructions it says to have your Ford dealer flash the Audio Control Module (ACM). I went to my dealer WITHOUT the JBL and took them the directions and asked them to do it. (I still had the stock rears in). When it was done I didn't notice any difference... however when I replaced the rears there was a noticeable difference and the rears had low frequencies. I'm still going to run some 300hz bass blockers to them, but I wanted to be able to pick the cut off frequency and not have ford pick it. At the end of the day the enclosures are the sound limiting factor. Hopefully someone comes up with an MDF 6x9 solution at some point.

    Hey guys! Pork, here, from Bronco Nation. I subbed!
    So, I changed my fronts and backs as well. The fronts made a big difference, but the backs still sound pretty hollow. Yes, they are better than what was factory, but I was wondering if maybe stuffing the channel with some foam might help to kick more sound forward. I ordered new 6.5, 4 ohm for the kick panels and I am hoping that doing all 6 will really help in the end.
    Then, I heard on another youtube vid, that Ford has a bass compressor on the stock system and I wonder if that is somehow messing with the overall sound. Still, though, those back speakers sound much thinner, even with a new set of Kickers.

    • @1Five1Garage
      @1Five1Garage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Welcome. The foam might actually might help some. Not sure how much. We will have to try it out and see. When I was in the military I built custom stereos and never in my wildest dreams that I would see a 4” rear speaker as the main speaker. I might try my hand at building a custom inclosure to hold a 6”.
      As far as getting a 4” speaker to sound better? That will be a challenge. We will do some comparisons when we try.

There is a way to add a self powered sub in thr rear while not adding an amp but it a $700 upgrade at an audio shop and u will eother loose tailgate space or cargo space. Great vid

    How did those mating connectors on the original, removed speaker attach to the coil? Maybe you could have detached them from the original speakers and attached them to your new speakers, even if that involved soldering lead wires and insulating the connection with heat shrink and/or liquid tape?

    Love your Bronco content, but every technician cringes with the thought of the scotch locks you used. I'd rather cut the end off and use a good heat shrink connector. Especially with someone that has the potential to be exposed to the elements.

      @1Five1Garage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I really don't like using them either, and never in the elements. I will be replacing them with the plugs as soon as I find them. A lot of people don't want to cut the ends off the factory wiring. they don't give you a lot of room to make a mistake.

    Yep, think I said something about this last week or so. Stop stealing my ideas... ;) worse than the Pickens Party of 5! LMFAO.
    I went with Morel Maximo Ultra Coax 402 Mk II in the front (left, right, center), Morel Maximo Ultra Coax 602 Mk II in the kick panel (left/right), and Morel Maximo Ultra Coax in the rear pods. On the B&O system, the rear pod frequency cut is approximately 150 Hz. FWIW, the factory speakers are rated for 25 watts (which I hope is RMS), I am sure that you picked higher quality speakers with more wattage capacity.
    By the way, Crutchfield included free speaker mounts and wiring adapters for the kick panel speakers. Made the kick panel install much faster.

    • @1Five1Garage
      @1Five1Garage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have to get the ideas from somewhere. We have actually had the speakers for about a month. Lol along with other items still not installed.

      @@1Five1Garage lol! Have you decided on a new sub yet? I have not picked one out yet.

    • @mpeugeot
      @mpeugeot 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@1Five1Garage BTW the kick panel, and rear pod speakers are exactly the same in the B&O. The upper front speakers are "upgraded" in the fact that they are coax speakers, so Ford counts them 2x. The center channel speaker is likely the same as the rear pod speaker. The sub-woofer is adequate, but not amazing.
      So if you have the B&O system with "10 speakers", it's really 8. Replacing all the speakers with coax speakers means that I went from a 10 speaker system to a 16 speaker system, using Ford math.
