To keep it simple if u fail a dot drug test, itll show on ur record where all future employers can see it. If its non dot then it wont go in the system and future employers will not detect it in the system.
when does quest diagnostics test the urine sample for a DOT test ? Right after the urine sample is collected or does it have to be sent out to somewhere else then be tested ?

DOT and Non-DOT tests are both technically "for the employer." The results are sent to them and they are left with the decision with what to do with most outcomes. When an employer conducts DOT-regulated tests, the scope of those decisions and the procedures involved are limited by federal regulations. One such limitation is that, under current DOT regulations (subject to change very soon), hair testing is not allowed for DOT tests. Any hair test conducted before the DOT adopts procedures for ensuring chain of custody would have had to fall under a Non-DOT testing program. If you were told you were taking a DOT Urine test and the collection facility collected two samples, one hair and one urine, only the Urine would have been collected under DOT protocols; the hair would be for a Non-DOT testing program. As a result, you should have two forms as evidence of your testing: one should say "FEDERAL DRUG TESTING CUSTODY AND CONTROL FORM" at the top (similar to this: www.reginfo.gov/public/do/DownloadDocument?objectID=73335901 ) and the other will not (Non-DOT forms vary widely in format and title).

I am not sure I am clearly understanding your question, but I hope this answers the question. Non-DOT means that the test is not mandated under federal regulations. All federal drug testing forms include a checkbox to indicate whether the collection was directly observed; however, very few Non-DOT forms contain this checkbox. If a Non-DOT test was observed, this will usually be noted in the "Remarks" Section. In both DOT and Non-DOT testing, direct observation can only be conducted under limited circumstances such as a reasonable belief that the donor has attempted to adulterate an initial specimen provided. Some states have completely outlawed direct observation in a Non-DOT workplace context as a violation of privacy, while the majority of states do allow direct observations given certain conditions. It all depends on your employer's drug-free workplace policy. If you are regulated under the 49 CFR Part 40 then you will have to follow those guidelines. It's best to read your employers policy and become very familiar with it.
I noticed none of these videos give people information they need the who what when where and why when you go in for a DOT physical it's a four pages one of the questions is urine how much of a sample of urine do they take to check for urine analysis. The normal numbers for urinalysis. They check for field of vision what is the normal field of vision. Of course 360 you could see behind your head I assume 180 you could see from ear-to-ear so what is a normal field of vision for a normal person do you have to drop your pants do they check you for hernias and do you have to actually let people see your body surely they don't check for prostate I certainly hope nobody wants a finger up their butt. Lol I'd like the details on this

A DOT and NON-DOT test is different. DOT is Federal while the other one was state law. They should be watched closely to avoid potential lawsuits.

So just say for instance the urine is clean but hair test is not would they report that to dot for pre employment??? Thanks in advance
