Stafford and Ryan are tough because they are arguably the two best QBs drafted since Aaron Rodgers in 2005 until Patrick Mahomes in 2017 (Russell Wilson may be the best and Andrew Luck's career and Cam's peak were too short). That's 11 draft classes where those two are at least top 3. However, they are surrounded by greatness- Peyton, Brady, Brees, Ben, Eli, Rivers, Rodgers on one side, and it looks like Mahomes, Watson, Lamar, Allen, Burrow and Herbert on the other. They were the best in desert of talent. They probably don't get in, but it's close.

Stafford took a massive step towards Canton. Nick bringing up the Pro Bowl selections while forgetting Stafford has been snubbed multiple times for the PB, including a year where he threw for 5,000 YARDS! I think Broussard brought up OBJ and Kupp quite well.
When Stafford's career is over, he will likely be top 5 in most major passing categories, and consider that he spent over a decade with a bad organization (while not absolving him of all failures), him putting up consistent production and a few more playoff wins, he's getting in. Another Lombardi, it's a lock.

Aaron Donald is a perfect example 7 years 7 straight All-Pro, Defensive MVP awards, Pro Bowl selections, Now a Super Bowl Champion etc. Now that’s dominance and didn’t need 12 plus years to do it. He never led in yards but he's one of the few QBs of the last decade to have a 5,000+ yard season it just so happens that when he got 5,000+ yards, that only 2 of the greatest QBs ever had more yards than him that year (Brees and Brady). This year he had 4,886 yards (3rd in league) and 41 TDs (2nd behind the GOAT Brady) and he's literally 5 pass yards away from getting to the 50,000 pass yard mark which is an elite mark that only 11 other guys have including all time great HOF level players like Brady, Brees, Peyton, Favre, Big Ben, Aaaron Rodgers.
Since 2011 (11 seasons), Stafford has had only one season where he played at least a full season (or almost a full season) and failed to get 4000 yards and that is 2018 (3777 yards), every other year in that time span he got 4000+ yards or he only played 8 games due to injury (2019), he's had 9 4000+ yard seasons in the last 11 seasons like come on now.

For the first time ever I agree with Nick. But I also agree with Chris. He’s not a HOF’er yet. But he just took a massive step towards being one. If he wins another and keeps stacking up wins and playoff appearances. He would be getting a gold jacket. Even If he just makes it to another SB, his case would be strong enough to argue about it. Just not a first ballot. QB’s are judged differently than other players. QB’s it’s all about playoffs and SB rings. Then stats and wins. Because you can have all the stats you want. But you’re ultimately judged by playoffs and SB’s. Unlike other players. Who are judged on stats.
Eli retired with a .500 record and two SB’s. He will most likely get in on the first ballot. Stafford is obviously more “ talented “ than Eli. But talent/ athleticism isn’t all that matters at the QB position. Even though his arm is way stronger than people give him credit for. Brady has been proving that his entire career. Rodgers is clearly more “ talented “. But Brady is way better than Rodgers. Comparing Yards and TD’s to other guys in the HOF from other era’s is cheating and takes away from what the legends did prior. so Everything needs to be looked with a lens that compares him to his era. then see how well he did, compared to other guys in the HOF and what they did compared to the guys they played against. The modern era has changed so much the last twenty years. That these guys under center right now are getting insane numbers extremely quick. I also think they need to change the voting system. change who votes on the panel and how many people are able to get in. Because some of these players become eligible and don’t make it because a QB and other players that have been waiting get in and the same thing happens the next year. So some people end up waiting forever to get the call that are worthy of the jacket and get snubbed. All the proof we need to know that the voting needs to change is by looking at T.O. He would have without a doubt been a first ballot and had to wait. Which is ridiculous when you look at his achievements.

Ben Rothlisberger: 2 Super Bowls, 6 Pro Bowls, 2x League Passing Leader, OROY
Eli Manning: 2x Super Bowl MVP, 4x Pro Bowl
Phillip Rivers: 8x Pro Bowl, led the league in yards, touchdowns, passer rating and completion percentage
Matt Ryan: MVP, All-Pro, OROY, 6x Pro Bowl, led the league in passer rating, and completion percentage.
Drew Brees: Super Bowl MVP, 2x OPOY, 5x All- Pro, 13x Pro Bowl, owned every QB record until Brady took them
Aaron Rodgers: 4x MVP, Super Bowl MVP, 5x All - Pro, 10x Pro Bowl, 4x Passer Rating Leader, 2x Touchdown Leader, All Decade Team
Peyton Manning: 5x MVP, Super Bowl MVP, 10x All - Pro, 14x Pro Bowl, 2x or more in every passing category and All Decade
Tom Brady: 5x Super Bowl MVP, 3x MVP, 6x All Pro, 15x Pro Bowl, 2x All - Decade

At the same time, Stafford threw for a 5,000 yard season. I did say the Giants should trade for him. And he still has years left. That being said, it isn't like he's retired so he has time. He was a number 1 overall pick. So not like it is unexpected. And this lesson for the Lions that Goff might not be the wrong guy. And they just haven't built a QB friendly roster.
