I talk about that all the time. His resumé is nuts. He put over 100+ passer rating 6/8 yrs in the 90s, when everyone had garbage stats. SB, 2 MVPs. His first yr starting in SF he was already 30. To go on a run like that from 30-38 is mind-blowing. He's top 10 all time, but if Young got an earlier start he would be top 3/4

The counter to the argument that NFC had worse QBs is that they had better defenses many times. 9ers, Seahawks, Bucs, and Cardinals all had great defenses against Rodgers and his defenses gave up a lot of points in those games

Rodgers last 3 playoff runs have been bad. Even during his MVP seasons..he was bad come playoff time. But I agree with the nfc being harder then the afc for a ton of his career.
Packers defense has given up an average of 30+ points in the playoffs since they won the Super Bowl, Rodgers went thru the same thing Peyton went thru with IND & Marino with MIA. If they didn’t bring their A-game 9/10 their team was losing. Brady has had 19 top 10 defenses, which is more than the 3 combined
That's misleading. Yes...Rodgers has had runs let down by the defense but those were his earlier days add in some extremely bad luck too and he would have won more rings. BUT the last few yrs...esp under Lafleur Rodgers has choked completely in the playoffs and it wasn't on the defense . Esp the 9ers bucs and if u wanna count detroit week 18 last yr. They had like 9 pts against the 9ers and the defense held the 9ers....the bucs game the defense intercepted Brady like 5 times in a half and Rodgers couldn't put up any pts...and well week 18 against Detroit he was just as bad. So while yes....his defense let him down in the earlier playoff yrs...that hasn't been the case lately. It's been on Rodgers 100%.

On this show they never add context when talkin about Rodgers. They talk about how that 15-1 team but what they fail to mention the defense gave up 37 points. Gave up 40 points to ATL. Vs AZ threw bsck to back hail marrys n the def sells the game but nick wont mention that. def gqve up 200+ rush yards vs sf: special teams sells vs sf again. vs sea special teams swlls the game

In 2011 they went 15-1 but they won every game like 42-38 because they couldn’t stop anybody on defense. I think statistically the 2011 Packers still have the worst passing defense in NFL history. That was obviously not sustainable in the playoffs and why anyone watching that team all year was not shocked when they lost.
I think it's important to note guys who changed the game. Super Bowls are great, but I think what Manning and Marino did for football are underrated

@BetterThanYou-uj4cd Personally I think Brady's success had more to do with being in a weak division for so long, coupled with how good the defenses were on those Patriot teams. As much as people want to discredit Belichick, I think they were the perfect pair. Not to say Brady wasn't a brilliant player in his own right, because he was. But to imply he was smarter than Manning is a stretch.
If Brady had been on the Browns or Texans he wouldn't have had nearly the same career, and would have been lucky to ever be a starter considering his college career and measurables. He just happened to be on the right team, with the right coach, and the right situation with Bledsoe getting hurt that the stars aligned for him, and he took his shot and made the most of it.

Was with everything until y'all mentioned the quarterbacks he had to face weren't as good as if he didn't have brees, prime cam, Russel Wilson, Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford while teams like the 49ers and eagles and giants had all time great teams that beat them to rings, even if the QBs weren't good. QBs don't play other QBs, they play the opposing teams defense. Of all the QBs I just named in the NFC, the only one you can say that had a worse defense for the majority of their stints in the NFC is Matthew Stafford and him and brees are about neck and neck in that regard. Except Brees had Sean Payton and Rodgers had McCarthy.

Doubt anyone ever gets to 7 rings again, so Brady gets credit for that but rings isn’t everything. Mobility has to account for something. Mahomes is mobile when he needs to and has a cannon and can make all throws.

Having said all that, I'll never get how a team can go to 4 in a row and not pull off. The Bill's were an AFC dynasty at the time.
