This is a must-have for your e-skate board. I've got a Meepo v2.5 and it's the ONLY way I can go fast and turn and cut deep on the streets. For me, it's a safety feature because I can get away from problems on the street QUICKLY because of the leaning and turning qualities this device adds to your board. It's a relatively inexpensive upgrade at $80 for the front and rear truck set. I will never ride an e-skate board without this addition to it.
surf skate trucks are super squirley, idk, with nice bushings on my boosted I have plenty of turning radius and response, I feel like making it taller and squirlier would not be a safety feature or be good for commuting. I will probably try it tho as it sounds realllly fun
@@jakeottati6970 Geometry, it gets MORE stable with more speed. Like towing a trailer, you get wobbles, you add speed to reduce wobbles. Trailing weight physics.
The rear truck adapters are designed to create tracking as known to surfers and people who do watercraft like kayaking. That's the tendency to maintain straight forward direction. That's how they do surfing. The surf fins underneath force the board's body to go in the direction the front is pointed at. You're so used to motorized boards that you don't notice that carving in surfing is supposed to create human-powered propulsion.
I got the adapter for my boosted....at any speed it feels very stable...you just need to adjust how you ride due to fact that turns can be very sharp 110% worth it if you want to get more out of your board
I've been using the Surf adapters kits on my boards for the last couple years, both powered and analog, and LOVE them. No speed wobbles as it's using a trailing link which makes it stable. The rear rail is even supposed to help with isolating wobbles as well. I recommend the carbon extension plate as well, allows lower deck and it really eats up the road chatter. I fully agree this is a no brainer upgrade.
Garek Sledziewski use the Boosted kit that we offer. It’s got a bolt pattern and hardware that make installation on a Boosted much easier. You can use an extender on a boosted off you’re interested in having a longer wheelbase though
I have the tendency to believe car riders witnessing me on the streets don't make the appropriate level of space needed to not clip someone riding on the side of a road, (they drive even closer to me, as a show of stubbornness or something) so these days I use the crosswalk and concrete ramps at the corner of an intersection and before having these trucks meant getting off the board, rotating it 90 degrees to go left or right, now I can go up the curb ramp and lean and clear the turn all without getting off the board to pivot it. Something that took an extra 10 seconds to securely do now instant. I really appreciate it for that, and paired with cloud wheels the small 1" concrete curb for storm drain doesn't catch on the old polyurethane wheels forcing me to walk and remote drive the board up that curb, its the urban sidewalk setup accessories that just give it the maneuverability my old long board was too rigid to adapt for. I really am inspired how much your hind leg pivots on your full speed carving, I'll try that too, looks more cardio effective and I'm sure those movements will still be fresh and not played out by any fellow observing eskate enthusiast. Cheers.
Thanks for the great video. I noticed you put the front truck in the opposite way(kingpin is facing inward). Is there any reason why? I have Exway Flex and I am getting wheelbite with the battery box right behind the front truck so... probably that was the reason why you inverted the direction of reverse kingpin truck? Thanks in advance!!!
And so the penny drops! Wondered why I couldn't carve like you on my SR board and I guess it's the single kingpin trucks. Another great video though man 👍
I used the carbon extension plates on mine, mounted to the top of the deck. Both extended the WB giving wheel clearance while still dropping the deck. The carbon plates also absorb some shock nicely
It's fantastic! I have it on my Riptide R1X. Refly 74A wheels with this adapter is pure bliss. INCREDIBLE! No more skating, it's electrosurfing the boosted :) Are you riding in the VolvoRace Alicante? That is where I rode my Riptide mostly!
From what I’ve read, this eliminates speed wobbles. I actually just got some but haven’t had a chance to test it seriously yet. But, based on the design, I’d say that it probably does. UPDATE: Confirmed. 😎
Hi sorry to bother you but I have a problem with my surf adapter. I was wondering if there's another way to put it on because the way that shows me. Made my nose on my backfire G2 snap.. if you can give me any information can you please get back at me or something thank you. Wish I could send you a picture but I don't know how to send it on here !!
I REALLY want this mobility on my eskate. Very familiar with both surfskate and eboard. -I just cant see how combining the two ADDS stability. My riding is speed (in traffic) and carving (for fun). Wouldn't a sneeze at speed be catastrophic?
Does anyone know if I could buy regular double kingpin trucks for the boosted board v2... or if these are better? just curious about the options that exist. I couldn't find anything on whether the factory boosted trucks in the back could be swapped out.
What’s up guys I was wondering if anyone has tried this on a drop down deck. I have a Bustin hybrid longboard and wasn’t sure if the surf adapter rail on the back truck would be too big
dacsupra I've a Bustin duolomo and I have the full kit on it. The rear fits, barely, but you'll need a 1/4" riser to make it work as even at rearmost holes the drop bend makes a tight fit. DEFINITELY get the carbon extension plate! It'll keep you from getting any wheel bite without raising your deck like a monster truck, adds some wheelbase for stability (but you will still gain huge agility), and gives some suspension to eat up road chatter. I actually just ordered another full kit and an extra carbon plate to try and put on the rear
Increased steering agility(with no loss of stability) is just one benefit. The handling is SO much better than stock on every. Eboard ive tried the adapters on. The added height is a moot point when riding since any higher CG is offset by how much deeper you can carve so only an issue if you have to push with a dead battery. I bet if you tried it your no would turn into a hard yes
Its possible for a review on waterborne adaptor + rear rail raiser setup on the Exway X1 Pro? Very curious if the waterborne setup can work on X1 Pro. And if the waterborne acts like DKP trucks like Evolve's supper carve trucks.
The Rail wouldn't be easy to attach to the X1 Pro without modification to the Rail itself. As for comparison to the Evolve DKP trucks, the Surf Adapter can turn much tighter than DPK. It will be really apparent when theres a video of the Surf and Rail Adapter on an Evolve board.
