I second this! Of the few coasters I wish to resurrect this one would be it. St.louis was our park that was nearby when I was younger so I grew up with Freeze, had the internet been more prevelant back then we certainly would have came here for this lol.

Even though these riders are in pain, it’s great to see both sides operating again! It’s also great hearing Freefall’s horn and squealing tires again! Between this and Batman, I remember Movietown’s nickname was Noisytown
@Glenn Huber I remember in 1997 I went there, and it must have been the third day the chiller was there, and both cars launched at the same time. it was pretty cool. But if you rode the batman side even once you were lucky, because that's the side they had the most problems with.
@@glennhuber4975it was mostly the power grid. If they both launched at the same time the neighboring communities and houses would lose power. Once one side cleared the spike the other side could launch. The LIMs required A LOT of power.
I keep watching this over and over. I’d take The Chiller with lap bars over Kingda Ka any day. This was GA’s first 200ft coaster. Great Adventure went downhill after they took this, Scream Machine, and Rolling Thunder out. Don’t get me wrong, El Toro is phenomenal. The park is just filled with smooth B&M coasters that are good, but are fluffed up. The Chiller was loud and proud and didn’t GAf 😉. Scream Machine was an iconic entrance coaster that had a great chain sound, that you’d listen to in the parking lot. Im looking forward to Jersey Devil to bring back some glory.
Someone mentioned this ride in the line for Harley Quinn Crazy Train at GAdv on Sunday. I immediately said, "I know about Chiller!!" I then went on to say it got replaced by TDK and Justice League. I wish that I went on this!!
The shot that hit me right in the nostalgia feels was right at the end when you recorded it from somewhere else in the park. I'll always miss seeing it on the skyline above the trees when entering or exiting the park, hearing its roar the parking lot.
@Princess Sally I only remember like two occasions where both duled. Batman was only open for a few years until it was permanent out of service and Robin was the only one going for years. I enjoyed the ride and my favorite part was that zero g roll. But the line was the worst!

Sadly it closed in 2007 and never got the chance to ride it, I was only 5-8 years old and wasn't tall enough but I vividly remember seeing my parents and their friends get on it while I waited in line for the "MovieTown Water Effect" ride...

Premier’s one of my favorite manufacturers of these days. No manufacturer goes without one bad or infamous ride in their catalog. Here’s Premier’s. Togo’s was Viper’s in the same park, Green Lantern for Intamin, Vortex (CGA) for B&M, and L-Rod for RMC
The first time i went to this park was back in spring 2007. I was just too short to ride the big coasters. I remember by July of 2007 i returned and was tall enough, but the ride had already closed. I was JUST too late to ride this amazing looking ride. RIP Chiller.
I've never once rode this ride. Even if I did, I would think it's one of the most remarkable coasters in the world, being the worlds only LIM launched dual coasters, not to mention the only LIM launched shuttling coasters without using a vertical spike.
I remember riding this for the first time. I could not believe how fast it was. Only 65 top speed, but felt a lot faster. The biggest problem with the ride for me is how rough it was. Your head really smashed against the over the shoulder restraints. However, when they got rid of these restraints years later and just used a lap bar, it was a much more enjoyable ride. Another problem was just how slow the line was. Only one coaster per track and only 2 people per rows, so not really surprising on why it took forever to get on.

I thought Batman at SFGA was loud, I guess not!!
Six Flags Great Adventure might make a B&M launched roller coaster called The Riddler's Revenge in Batman Stunt Show's spot for Spring 2030. It will be the clone of The Incredible Hulk Coaster. The trains will be colored green and black while the over the shoulder restraints yellow and seats were black. As the Riddler was an archenemy of Batman, The Riddler's Revenge is located appropriately adjacent to Batman: The Ride, in the back of the park. The Riddler's signature question mark is featured on the coaster's logo. The techno music that played on the loading platform is Ecuador (Bruce Wayne Mix) by Sash! (Bruce Wayne being the secret identity of Riddler's nemesis, Batman). After waiting in line in the outdoor portion of the queue, guests enter a building housing the station. Prior to entering, The Flash Pass queue merges with the general queue. Guests climb a staircase and head into the boarding area. Inside, there are laser lighting special effect units mounted at various points, which use moving mirrors to reflect a green question mark shape around the interior of the queue. Near the boarding area, the line breaks into eight separate rows, with each one leading to a gate that boards a specific row on the train. There is also a separate single rider entrance and queue that leads to directly to the boarding area.
I rode it three times. All in 07. The second and third time was the same visit and I got to ride with others without getting off. I miss when six flags closed at 11-midnight. I could’ve done a third time without getting off and I still regret not doing that. My dad wanted to ride nitro again before it started to rain. The chiller operators needed clearance to operate it because a thunderstorm was coming. Thank god they got the clearance. After that third run it shut down and that was the last I heard it…
Today’s kids will never know: You’re a GOAT if you got a chance to ride Batman’s side. A triple OG if you experienced this ride with it’s over the shoulder harness and zero-g-roll & basic af if you only got to experience this ride when the small hills replaced the chillers zero-g-roll lmao jkjk. I wish six flags got back together with LIM to rebuild the chiller. With technology now, I’m pretty sure it can be made better, stronger & reliable.
They have their issues as well but the problem was Mr. Freeze had two tracks and that doubles the maintenance costs and power usage . That’s why they started using Batman parts for Robin. I’m sure if it was a single track it would probably still be operating. It came to a point where the ride needed very costly repairs and instead of trying to fix it they decided to trash it.

I remember getting to the park and hearing the roar and saying “YES, The Chiller is running!” I miss this ride so much. Nothing was/is like it.

It was set up for both trains to run simultaneously. But always had problems with it

I have ridden this ride tons of times. I even had the pleasure of riding the batman side a few times during its brief operation.
