really wiah they would rebuilt this since the tech is there now a days to redo this amazing ride this was the coaster that made me become a enthusiast in 2000
Hurricane Coaster at Suzhou Paradise in China has the first set of interlocking top hat and cobra roll since The Chiller. Looks like a solid creation by Mack, hope a park in the US clones it with an inverted top hat.
Such a shame this coaster was just left to rot. Premier is up in the top 3 manufacturers in my opinion. Very good laterals and launches. Some have excellent positives as well.
That was a pretty cool looking coaster for 1999 Sean. Your coaster credits consistently blow my mind to this day. You are tops my man. Thanks for sharing this footage. I did not know much about this ride~ Rob/Boston
This coaster was a strange one. I rode it in three different versions; with shoulder restraints, with lap bars only and then lap bars without the heart-line rolls. It was an intense ride.
Man i miss the “tis” of the brakes lowering and the “buzz” of electricity when it launched. The Batman side always had a Boom sound when it left the station.
This was recorded in 1999. I don’t believe the lap bars were added until 2001. I only got to ride it with lap bars once I believe. It was awesome riding it that way.
@@SeanFlaharty I was going through a bunch of chiller vids and accidentally posted this on hear instead of another vid. You have some good vids of the chiller. God I miss that ride! The lap bars were a game changer. The first time I rode Robin with the lap bars, I was dizzy after. No other coaster did or has done that to me. I’m 37. I’m still waiting…
I love rides that are unique and Chiller was definitely unique. It reminds me of something I would see in Japan....where I am currently typing this message from. Lots of quirky rides here.
@@SeanFlahartyI’m very jealous of you. I know in some other country they made a replica of Mr Freeze. In China, they have a continuous loop Chiller. It’s called Beyond the Cloud. Great Adventure needs to bring that here.
Everything about this ride is amazing to the line to the ride itself to the exit ramp everyone let’s make a petition for Six Flags Geeat Adventure to remake this ride in the same exact location and reopen the observatory with today’s technology!!!! Let’s get rid of Justice League and the dark knight and bring this gem back!!!!!
I really don't remember much about it other than I think it mirrored the Robin side. I only managed to ride the Batman side a couple of times. It was usually closed when I visited the park.
I don't believe I ever heard a soundtrack in the station. Then again, the only time I rode this ride was during an ERT at an event. Maybe they didn't play the music during non-operational hours or something.
Sean, Do you think that had Batman & Robin: The Chiller been built in 2022 with LSM's, would it have been a success? And from what I've read about the ride over the years, the Batman side was down more often; to the point where it didn't even operate for one entire season.
That's a good question. Perhaps it would have worked. While LSMs seem to be much more reliable than LIMs, they still have problems from time to time. I was only able to ride Batman once or twice.
Hey, Sean Flaharty! Viper was closed for the entire 2001 season to allow Six Flags time to analyze its ongoing issues. While Viper was standing but not operating, lap bars were installed on the Robin side of the Chiller. Did this happen?
Have you ever recorded Batmans side? like in batmans half of the station? Also I heard that there were fog effects in the ride or que do you remember what it looked like? Because I'm trying to recreate this ride in a game and i thought the fog effects sounded cool lol
Unfortunately, I didn't record the Batman side. I don't remember the fog effects either. That doesn't mean they weren't there. I just don't remember them.
@@derailedcoasters You are very welcome. If this is Austin, the dude I met at Fun Spot last year, thanks again. I included you in my vlog from that time. MASSIVLOG 35 to be more exact.

The Chiller 2: Batman & Robin
Back with a Vengeance!!!

What an intense ride that was man! I’ll never forget hearing that roar from the entrance! It was always the first ride we’d hit.

such a cool part of great adventure history. great footage. loved this coaster and when that whole area was so themed
The best part is the memories of hearing the horn for Stuntmans Freefall next door

Very unique footage! 🥶 Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching, Joy!
Not so fond of the harnesses, but thanks for the memories.
It was way better when they switched to lapbars
Underrated channel!
Thank you!
Went on it a few times. Both the red and blue. Miss the sound 😍.. You could here it from the parking lot and around the park. 😏🙂
yes loved the sound of that plus batman coaster plus free fall ahh miss those days.

This is a great mix of The Chiller with OTS restraints and the lap bars

It’s a shame this coaster had so many issues I hope one day we get a new launch coaster with this theme
Never saw the Batman train go past the motors on the spike. They last car usually stops on the last motor
Hey, Sean Flaharty! Do you have an off ride video of Viper?
If you mean SFOG's Viper, then yes. I don't have any other Viper off-ride that I know of.
Do you remember how Batman’s que went? It seems nearly impossible to find info on it besides that it went under the tracks

@@SeanFlaharty I've seen other videos of the ride queue, and there was someone on GAH who basically debunked it.

Batman seemed to be the more intense so I will go with that one. I only got to ride that side one time though.

Yes.
Shame that this ride was about as bad as the 1997 movie that it was supposed to coincide with, both in terms of reliability and ride experience.

Hello there, May I use this footage with credit included to you for all future videos I create that may involve The Chiller?
Yes, thanks for asking.
