Guys, don't confuse Chronos with Kronos. They are two separate entities. Kronus is the king of the titans, Chronos is the personification of the time.
Chronos is still a titan nevertheless, not a god.

Wrong. Gods(within their respective mythologies) have more often than non-gods.
Fenrir is one such example. Fenrir is Loki's son through the Jotunn Angerboda. And not a god, like Jormungund. However, Loki's daughter through Angerboda, Hel, IS a god, though, still not Asynjur. It's a little inconsistent, considering that most of the gods are Aesir/Asynjur or Vanir.
To add to this, Loki himself, whilst a god, and one of the first, IS NOT an Aesir, by birth, not purely at least.
He is the son of Laufey and Farbauti. One of which is a Jotunn(Farbauti) and the other is SPECULATED to be an Aysunjur(Laufey).
Though, this is not so rare in Norse mythology(however, in said mythos kinship is, for the most part, transferred from father to son. As is the case with Odin, who had an Jotunn mother).
Lastly, Fenrir was not seen as a god and was an enemy of them.
By your logic, though, no only should Fenrir be a god(and Aesir, which would be preposterous as he has a Jotunn and Jotunn/Half-Jotunn parent) but so should Jormungundr be as well, and Hel be Asynjur(whilst a god, she is NOT Asynjur).

I know they sound similar, but they're very different.
Chronos is the primordial personified concept of time, not so much a god as actual time itself. Kronos is the eldest of the Titan Gods, and nothing to do with the former.

It is a bit frustrating to see people ask the same question again and again, confusing more people, instead of reading the past comments or maybe even do an actual research (google is your friend).
As someone somewhat familiar with both greek mythology and language, I could try to explain the difference between Chronos and Cronus.
In ancient greek mythology, *Cronus* or *Kronos* / *Cronos* (Κρόνος) is a Titan, one of the many gigantic god-like beings that existed before the greek gods most of us are familiar with. Cronus himself was the father of Hades, Poseidon, Zeus (and three Godesses that are not present in Smite: Hera, Hestia and Demeter). He swallowed all his newborn children but Zeus, who was saved by his mother who tricked Cronus into swallowing a rock instead. (There is more to the story and I'm not going to include it because this comment is already becoming a wall of text)
*Chronos* (Χρόνος) on the other hand, is the personification of time itself. Chronos was a god, not a titan. To this day, in the modern greek language chronos literally means *"time"* (χρόνος) (and in other cases, year).

TL;DR : Chronos, God of Time =/= Cronus, Titan and father of Zeus and some other gods.

They are. "Κ" in Κρόνος (Cronos) sounds like "C" in coal, coastal, cry, etc. "Χ" in Χρόνος (Chronos) sounds like "H" in help, holy, hashtag, etc.

NO. Chronos is a primordial God that was personification of time itself and usually had a serpentine form, or an old muscular man with the lower body of a snake. Due to mass confusion that seemed rampant in later parts of Greek mythology, many people started treating them as the same or similar beings creating a new myth. Due to this the Romans believed that Chronos and Kronos were the same so they made Saturn a God of time, or father time. Another way to differentiate them is that Chronos (with Ananke) is responsible for the creation of the Cosmic egg from which all the primordial and the universe would later be born from, while Kronos power of time only extended to the coming of the yearly harvest which his scythe was used to cut (was originally a god of agriculture).
It's like how Apollo (god of truth, god prophecies, male god of the hunt, god music and later light) started getting mixed up/conflated with Helios -Titan God of the Sun (whom he personifies, ie, the Sun is his body) who sided with Zeus and was allowed to stay during the Olympian's rule-, Aphrodite became Zeus and Dione's daughter instead of a titan (and his Great aunt) born from Ouranos castrated testis -Several late Philosophers, including Plato, made it worse by saying there are two different Aphrodite's. Aphrodite Ourania/Urania ("heavenly" Aphrodite) the celestial titan who represents spiritual love, while Aphrodite Pandemos was the physical daughter or Zeus and Dione and came to represent physical attraction (desire) aka the horny one who all the stories are about.-, and Pluto was merged with Dis Pater to represent he Greek god Hades but was confused with Plutus/Ploutos (Demeter's son and a minor Greek god of wealth/riches alongside Hades).
Speaking of Hades, Pluton is another Greek name for Hades and actually became preferred in later Greek myths. This is due to Pluton's true name, "Hades", becoming synonymous with the underworld thus driving fear and hatred into the hearts of men; On the other hand, like the Roman name, Pluton means Giver of Wealth. Nothing is scarier than death, even said God of the dead was fair, but everyone loves a God who gives out riches (most of which used to belong to the dead but whatever) to the deserving. But most of pop culture, and modern Greek culture, is ignorant of this as well.
Pop culture and Hollywood, -which is also largely responsible for or the Kraken, a beast of Norse origin never once mentioned by the Greek/Romans, becoming Poseidon's pet- continues the mass confusion to this day, especially in the US. However, many Greeks don't even look up/know the differences unless they work in a museum or other scholastic/archeological institution. Chronos = eternal time, Kronos=yearly time, or the time for coming harvest.
I played League of legends for 2 years and spent some money.

I play both games and personally i prefer the lores and back story of the gods here, because it is based on different belives, then league but i still like the traditional mobas for some reason. But league is getting dry because of its lores being to repetitive like ekko, jinx, vi and caitlyn being linked and sort of like telling each others story from 1st, 2nd,3rd and 4th party perspective.

Ainol Hoque i am playing league of legends for almost three years now, since early season 3 and I heard someone mention smite so i decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly suprised and i find this as a refreshment from league.

it wont but it is a refreshing and original perspective on the MOBA genre which is saturated with so many LoL clones. I think because it does something drastically different from LoL and DOTA it will always have a healthy player base. However, your never gonna get LoL players to leave their game they are blinded by it

The game is way too high up right now, there is no game that will be able to do so in the near future, don't worry. On the other hand, Smite is really fun to play but it won't be able to best LoL.

i tested it and its amazing, not only does it stay the full time until the re-spawn of the camp, you can also stack buffs! at least it stacked for me.

Because of the similarity with there names they sometimes became the same God/Titan, this is were we get the concept of 'Father Time' from as the origins of Father Time come from the time of the Renaissance when he was depicted wielding the harvesting scythe, an item associated with Kronos in Greek mythology as he is depicted as the bringer of the harvest.

Zilean can give a speed buff to his allies, and his ultimate takes some good seconds to revive him so his enemies can just get close, cc him, and kill him. Chronos's accelerate only works on him, and his ult can move him to a safer position, and is faster. The similarities are slim.
I miss this Chronos so much :( I used to build him with gem of binding and fatalis and didn't have to worry about getting a cooldown item for his 2. Rip in peace adc Chronos.

Zilean with real time powers, more damage, more atk speed, no supporting at all, can stun, doesn't have a time bomb, cannot revive allies, looks better, has more sustain, doesn't die in 3 seconds, can revive himself without fear of being surrounded while at it just to die again, doesn't attack with clocks, doesn't have a beard. I made that comment because almost all LoL players where comparing Chronos with Zilean, despite there being almost no similarity, most of the time simply because they both control time. Like Fenrir and Warwick, any good not bronze lol player will see that they have almost nothing in common.
As for Heroes of the Storm, well, it's new, so you can't expect much. And it seems kinda like Marvel vs Capcom, not the best but you can see your favorite characters fight each other, in this case characters from Diablo, Starcraft, WoW, and I think I'm forgetting another one...bah, whatever.

I generally use that term to refer to the Christian Bible+Jewish Rabbinical texts (and occasionally gnostic gospels). In the Bible itself, there are actually only four named angels. Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Lucifer.

you know. at first i hated the change to jungle buff where each god can only hold one buff at a time, but then i thought "how long does the buff drop stay on the ground?" because since only your team can get the buff after earning it, wand if it stays for a long time, then it would be great.
example: you get blue buff but leave it, the left lane can use an opening in battle to leave, grab the buff left behind and return with no time spent on killing the jungle camp.

The most secretly OP god that few know, but many understand. Favorite god in smite. Late game chronos, is basically a GG enemy team unless extremely focused on or CC'd to oblivion.
Oh ESPECIALLY Horus and Medusa. Medusa's ult would be fun since it'd probably stun someone for a good bit. Plus Horus would be awesome too :D

Hey HiRez I think a really cool god to have would be Atlas. The Greek Titan and then you would have 2 Titans and then you'll need 1 more to match the Big 3 of the Greek Gods. Atlas would like Hercules. A brute, a physical carry/tanky/awesome.

Technically they are not the same god, but they often overlap and become each other. One was a primeval concept of time, the other was the titan god who rules time/Elysian fields. However, since their roles overlap, they pretty much became synonymous. Note that Khronos came first (Protogenos) and then Kronos (Titan god)

Different Chronos. That one is Kronos. Though Greek and Roman mythology at this point became so muddled it's hard to differentiate them. Kronos, along with Iapetos and 2 other ridiculously hard names are the original 4 brothers, and they all had to do with time, yet Chronos is the god of time and Kronos is the ruler of golden ages and the Elysian fields.
Yes but Jesus could have cool abilities like an invincibility that takes places after death or a ressurection ulti and a shit ton of buffs for the team. And maybe his ulti could be a rain of fish and wine that damages and stuns the enemies...

Okay. And it's not actually a religion, exactly. It refers to the connection between Judaism and Christianity. Much like Greko-Roman is used to refer to both Greek and Roman mythology, since the Roman gods are based on the Greek ones. Hope that clears things up :) .

well.. if they where just staying back they where probably trying to bait in the enemy closer to their tower and did not expect the jungler to go so offensive which is still their fault this is why communication is so importaint cause the jungler needs to make sure everyone is ready for the gank before he goes in they might be low on mana or have most of their abilities down also the jungler might need to be more tactic then just charging into combat without knowing if he got support or not

Chronos does not have 6, he only has 4 skills like every other god but Hel, Chronos ult only resets the cooldown for the other 3 skills

Yeah, I think that instead of the cd reset they should make that at least the cooldowns are halfed.
I like how they come up with all these uniqe gods with vary and active playstyles.
I would like to see more folklore and just regular monsters like medusa.
Neither is Arachne, Guan Yu, or a few of the others we have.
We do have Ra, but we also have Anhur, Ares and Athena, all respective War Gods =)
