    Newbie question: bought a set of hart burs and they're all 2%-3% under the rated sizes. (ex: 025 = 2.43mm) What tolerance should be required in burs?

    • @setting-the-standard
      @setting-the-standard  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is normal. You’ll find with Diamonds and gemstones though unless you pay a premium, most of those don’t come in exact calibrated sizes anyway, so you’ll need to learn to cut a 2.53 hole with that 2.43 bur

    • @setting-the-standard
      @setting-the-standard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basically assume all holes will likely need precise adjustment to get a good seat, assuming your bur is 2.5 and the stone you’ve ordered as 2.5 is a great way to run into trouble. Cz are nicely calibrated but move to cheap gemstones and sometimes those can range from 2.35-2.65 depending on how little your supplier cares

    • @tsmith4338

      1.55

    • @aldo934
      @aldo934 ปีที่แล้ว
