Unfortunately no. I tried that as an experiment. The one in the fridge was dark green after 2 weeks while the one on the window still got light green (= no more aroma). Clearly the Parsley (just like chives) has more success in staying fresh in the cold of the fridge.
@@Eagle-Striker maybe you didn’t give it enough sun. For every single herb I have I’ve been able to root it and get unlimited quantities. Well I’ve had a lot of trouble with cilantro but basil, mint, even rosemary is unlimited for me.
@@ninamatthews8747 the one in the fridge didn’t get any light at all but kept its color and flavor. Since then i always keep them in a glass water in the fridge (and sometimes cover them with a plastic bag to increase humidity for their leaves). They never have grown any roots but i usually consume them within 2 weeks. Chives work best rolling them in a moist paper towel and keeping them airtight in a ziplock bag.
@@Eagle-Striker well it can’t grow in the fridge because it’s too cold and like you said there’s no light. The fridge just delays the keeps the decomposition. But if it works for you that’s great, I just like having the plants on hand because it guarantees I’ll have herbs whenever I want.

I think the best way to store it is in water in a window sill and then plant it once it grows roots.
