Just because the bags look OK doesn’t mean they are. Ziploc bags should never be boiled. The boiling temperature of water is way above the maximum recommended temperature.
@@morningstar8187 The recommended temperature is set purposely set lower than the actual point at which the bags become dangerous or harmful to use, so that in case one was to hit that point, which is above boiling point, and were to sue for damages, SC Johnson could argue that they said never to bring the bags to such a temperature. The bags are completely safe to boil as long as you do not let them remain in contact with the metal part of the pot. Have you ever heard of Sous Vide? Where they literally use plastic bags to heat food items? It is the same idea, and I know it is a slightly different material, but from my countless times I have used such a method, the bags melting from boiling water was never an issue. Try it for yourself like I have.
You can’t boil ziploc bags. You can heat them up to like 170 degrees (~75 Celsius) but not boil. Maybe you should consult the manufacturer’s recommendations before making a video.
Radar That's what I was thinking, although I think the purpose for this is to have everyone eat at the same time. If your making this for yourself just do it the traditional way.
This is literally unsafe. Plastic bags (specifically, ziploc bags) are only food safe until 170F, after that they begin to melt. Water only boils at 212F, which means that by putting these bags in the water, you're actively melting plastic into the omelet mixture and then eating that. I'm baffled you haven't made any sort of response to the hundreds of comments explaining the dangerous practices you do in your kitchen.

Never follow recipes from a guy who is surprised on how his food looks when he is done. Also, a chef/cool should not post a recipe and start out by saying "I've never done this"
PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUYS RECIPE!!!!! Polyethylene plastic, which is typically used to make these bags, will start to soften at about 195 degrees Fahrenheit (90.6 degrees Celsius). If you put them in boiling water (around 212 degrees F or 100 degrees C), they will melt
I wonder if the chemicals from the plastic bags cooks into the food? 'Cause chemicals from plastic water bottles seep into the water in the bottle when left in a hot car or in front of a store window.
Please don't do this. Ziploc bags are not safe to expose to heat like this. They make special bags that can handle heat, but Ziploc bags are not safe to do this with.
I think it would actually be faster to whisk up all the eggs in a bowl and pour them in equal parts into the bags. You'd end up with a neater mix as well.
I love trawling the net looking for something good to eat. Last week I found a site where many Europeans/Americans found themselves living in China for however long. One thing they ALL seemed to love is stir fried lettuce (all kinds) or spinach. I tried it and man was it ever delicious. Lettuce isn't just for salads, and burgers, and BLT's any more. At least not in my house. Here's my doctored version of their recipe. I've made this recipe using a mix of red leaf and/or romaine lettuce mixed with baby spinach. Fry lots of chopped up (smooshed is more flavorful) garlic for about 30 seconds in EVOO, throw some salt onto the hot oil, then throw in the washed green leaf vegetables, stir-fry together for no more than 2 minutes, so the spinach/lettuce is still tender. Amazingly delicious, healthy and inexpensive. Add ins to the leafy stir fry (use any or all--I used all): baby corn; sliced water chestnuts; straw (or fresh--I used both) mushrooms, sliced; whole green onions, sliced (snipped); baby bell peppers cut into bite-sized chunks. I stir fried all the "add in" veggies for about 2 minutes in the hot garlic oil before adding my leafy veggies. This recipe was so filling (we each had a pasta bowl full to the rim) that I put off cooking the entree AND I had so much left over I was able to freeze two more pasta bowl sized servings for another day. I also have enough of the veggies left over that I will be adding to my doctored slow cooker Hawaiian chicken recipe And still have enough to make a large batch of fried rice!
