@@MrKachannie This was the first bread that I ever made from scratch, and it usually turns out pretty good! However, it's usually better to bake it an extra 5 minutes and 5 degrees hotter. Of course ovens can vary quite a bit.

+Toti Soti Costco pizza in the food court is very good, however I don't care for the take and bake. Perhaps it's because I don't have the same oven to get the crust the same way.
The difference between French and Italian bread. In the first place. the thing you bought is about as French or Italian as a hot dog. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I too have resorted to buying it in a pinch. French bread as made in France is a protected commodity. And there are very strict rules on the ingredients as well as how long it has to rest after baking before you can sell it. In France to be called French bread the ingredients are water, flour yeast, and salt. And that's it. No more, no less. Italian bread on the other hand can have other ingredients added such as sugar or olive oil etc. In terms of shape. French bread such as a baguette is more rounded. Italian bread can be flatter. The crumb on French bread is dryer. Italian bread is moister to sop up all the oils and sauces. Hope that helps.
Italian bread has semolina on the outside, and sometimes has olive oil in the recipe (although at my grocery store they call it "calebrese" when it has olive oil). They;re all pretty much interchangeable.

My mother used to combine these! She'd cut the loaf length wise, lightly spread butter & garlic powder, then the spaghetti (pizza) sauce, shredded cheese & diced (tiny chunks) pepperoni. (broiled same as yours) Gawd that was good!.
a lot of people have made it this way. My mom did it this way because it was inexpensive and delicious. $3 for the english muffins and $3 for the sauce. 12 little pizzas.
