Renaming the “tiledatalayer” folder by adding some underscores (and then restarting) worked for me! Thank you-yours was by far the most helpful video on this subject that I could find.

Hi, my windows 10 start menu does not close automatically after I click on something in the jump list like it used too until I click on the screen somewhere. It has been doing this now for about 2 weeks. I have done a system reinstall but the problem was still there so then I did a full clean install on a new SSD and it fixed it but now today an app did an update and right away I had the same problem back, I have searched the internet but have not been able to find anything about, do you have any idea's what could be the problem. I'm getting a more or less similar issue. The taskbar is working nicely, but I can't use the search button (even though the service is running) and every time I interact with the app list in the Start Button the whole Windows Explorer restarts. My best guess is that it is related with the lasted version, 2004, which separated Cortana from the Search Button (I read in different forums that a problem with Cortana could cause a problema with said button)
I was following all the steps and not sure what happened after I regedit option. It messed up more, now I can't open my file explorer or any of my files/folder. It's gives me error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." and when I click "OK" I get "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page." Can anyone help? Thanks
For a very quick fix! Go to Settings Home. Select Personalise. Select Start. Turn on"Use Start full screen". Then try stat menu again, it should open full screen. Then turn off "Use Start full screen". The Start Menu worked normally after that.
Thank you for this video! What a pesky problem this has been since restoring my PC. Specifically what fixed it for me was removing Windows Update KB4550945. It took a couple of hours to pin point this. It seems during the restoration process I fix one issue to break another.
