Amazing, Microsoft is learning from Linux a little bit? Lmao! EDIT: Also my mother's pc recently updated microsoft, which turned her smooth, no-stutter World of Warcraft experience into a pure stuttery hellscape. She's called for help from the family tech-person, but if he can't fix it, it's Linux time. :) Just goes to show that microsoft is so out of touch that they're losing their gamers and developers... Soon all microsoft will have left are the low-level users who only use windows to pay the bills and browse the web, and the creatives that are Adobe-junkies and would be on Linux if they weren't forced to use windows in order to use Adobe suite. xD
yay, no more hunting around context menus for copy & paste, etc.! About time. It's been a bugbear for this infrequent Windows user for quite a while. And sudo?! Why not just use Linux (like I am right now)
I find it even wilder that they come up with this update, a week after i switch to Linux. I guess Microsoft saw the desktop market share trend in Norway, and got scared that Linux might actually replace windows, so they decided to start copying Linux. xD Desktop market share in Norway went from 6% Linux, to 23% Linux in 1 year, it touched 29% for 1 month, lol... Windows market share is like 50% there now, these are VERY wild times, and i'm kinda loving it! :]
Why is it so wild for you? Bro thinks that sudo is trademarked by Linux or something. Sudo means "substitute/super user do", as in doing a command as a super user (root) or as another user (less commonly used), so it isn't wild to imagine a Windows equivalent. You could do something like it before, but it's nice having it in windows now
@@stefanalecu9532 The windows equivalent is "administrator" bro. Hence why copying "sudo" is wild, as windows could easily just use "admin" instead. They're intentionally copying Linux, because the Linux Desktop market share has increased a crazy amount recently.
I've found an issue where if you put windows color on dark and the app color on light, it messes up the text color on that new account manager card and nobody seems to be noticing it!
I had to disable the realtek background noice cancellation because it was so bad. Did more harm than good. Hope windows 11 built in one is not as terrible
That unorincally says A LOT about how good Linux is, and how popular it's about tog et, because of microsoft's complacency in recent years. :P Linux desktop markets share world-wide rose from like 1.3 or something, to 4.55% in a year... And desktop market share in Norway went from 6% to 23%, it touched 29% for 1 month, lmao... Linux is exploding right now, it's beautiful!

So… maybe thats's life.
5:20 Is "Checkpoint Cumulative Update" similar to what Google did with its "Project Treble" in the android space ?
No, it's basically just restoring the Windows 7/8 style of updates, except for without allowing you to pick and choose patches, instead still having to install them all.
@@teknixstuffgotcha
Wait ... does that mean 24H2 has native support for .jxr/jxl files?
what about the horriable recall feature ??? I heard this update will add the recall feature which record your actions am I wrong ?is it only enabled for new pcs with co pilot chips ???
Yes, just for Copilot+ PCs (for now, only Elite X laptops but soon enough Intel and AMD will make their own compatible CPUs). Recall is totally irrelevant for the average user, for now.
Great video, always like to see stuff I haven't found myself. Do you know if it's possible to change the theme in regedit to dark mode?
the compression options is very welcome
not so much the changing how the account button works with them basically using it as free advertisement to you on how you need to re-buy your microsoft product subscriptions after you cancel them...
The account switcher change is unfortunate, since I used that to change between my accounts I had for work and personal. Just one more step that was added for no apparent reason.
It doesn't appear that the compression has the capability to encrypt files. Is that true? What about decrypting encrypted files?
Yay new ThioJoe vid, I know u heart comments pls heart mine, not begging, also looking forward to 24H2 uh now I’m done
Just goes to show that microsoft is so out of touch that they're losing their gamers and developers... Soon all microsoft will have left are the low-level users who only use windows to pay the bills and browse the web, and the creatives that are Adobe-junkies and would be on Linux if they weren't forced to use windows in order to use Adobe suite. xD
I will miss wordpad :( I always use that and never notepad since it has more style options
You can still install it manually
24h2 iot enterprise ltsc is my best favorite update haha
Will this make the 7zip app irrelevant?
JPEG-XL FTW!
What about TPM and local account workarounds at install?
yay, no more hunting around context menus for copy & paste, etc.! About time. It's been a bugbear for this infrequent Windows user for quite a while. And sudo?! Why not just use Linux (like I am right now)
Because it's way more convenient to do sudo command than to open a PowerShell with admin privileges just to run things as a super user.
Damn windows got rust added with less drama than linux. Thats neat
ok how do i get back to window 10 safely
3:52 same like gsudo right?
Similar, Sudo gives administrative privileges for Unix or Linux. Gsudo doesn't give administrative privileges for full control of Windows.
having sudo in windows is wild.
Yeah, i've been using gsudo for years, great for Winget
I find it even wilder that they come up with this update, a week after i switch to Linux.
I guess Microsoft saw the desktop market share trend in Norway, and got scared that Linux might actually replace windows, so they decided to start copying Linux. xD
Desktop market share in Norway went from 6% Linux, to 23% Linux in 1 year, it touched 29% for 1 month, lol...
I like your videos very much keep up a good work Darko from Croatia
This guy is an imposter! Everyone knows the real ThioJoe only owns black t-shirts!
Thanks!
Sucks that WMR is removed since I have an HP Reverb G2 and now I'm not sure that someone will buy it from me
Any updates to Windows 10?
I’m never going to upgrade to Win11.
I heard it is giving BSOD
They killed Wordpad... they won't get away with this!
I've found an issue where if you put windows color on dark and the app color on light, it messes up the text color on that new account manager card and nobody seems to be noticing it!
Not delete permanently icon on file explorer. Not recent files on pinned apps on the start menu, etc etc. I am still using explorer patcher lol
Nice version...
2:35 Changing png metadata - jeez, I wasn't aware there were any. Is it stored in the file? If not, it's useless to me (doesn't sync).
Context menu labels 😱😱😱😱😱
Wonder what this update will break this time.
Which SSD is fastest on Windows 11 24h2 gaming ?
I just wanted same size extended buttons on the taskbar, just like good old windows
I had to disable the realtek background noice cancellation because it was so bad. Did more harm than good. Hope windows 11 built in one is not as terrible
LIST OF APPS BLOCKING THE UPSATE ???
I think wintoys has an option
EmulateHeap (Windows 95 and 98/ME compatibility mode) is still broken since 22H2
Wordpad being removed sucks. I use that all the time.
so what about the co-pilot crap, can we remove it?
GIANT thumbs up!
It looks like Windows is slowly trying to become Linux
That unorincally says A LOT about how good Linux is, and how popular it's about tog et, because of microsoft's complacency in recent years. :P
Linux desktop markets share world-wide rose from like 1.3 or something, to 4.55% in a year... And desktop market share in Norway went from 6% to 23%, it touched 29% for 1 month, lmao... Linux is exploding right now, it's beautiful!
Honestly speaking, its not really that much for a non power user I think. Except for the zip files, and the context menu changes, not much interesting stuff
3:52 do I need to update to get sudo? Is there a way to get it without updating the whole os? I need it but don't want to update yet.
Please reply sirrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sir, when I bought the pc they gave me windows 10 which was not activated, then I did not understand, so I mistakenly clicked on insider preview (canary) and then activated it and updated to windows 11 but now when I want to update, the update is showing there but when I click on restart, it loads after a very long time, then when it reaches 95%, it closes and says "undoing changes made to your device" what should I do, if I do it from the ISO file, will I get windows 11 activated when I login into my microsoft account?? Sir please please please reply !!!
I hear some rumors that games run better on 24h2 is it true ?
Have windows update blocked but still manage to get the odd one do not want.
5:13 so updates as Git, it seems?
for some reason the 24h2 update doesn't show up on windows update. i've never seen this in this video, so it's better off pointing this out. i've checked some news articles about this and it seems to be an issue with intel sound system drivers, some saying that it causes bluescreens for some reason. if someone has a better answer to this, please answer to this comment, i'd appreciate it.
It will show up in WU eventually. If you want now, go the Windows 11 Update Assistant route.
Hi, can you share the name of the software you use for Screen Capture
Probably OBS
