Creating a new user solved my issue. I read in Microsoft forum that sometimes when a user account gets corrupted such issues occur. It would be great if u mentioned at the end of section 4 to create a new admin account and migrate your settings to the new admin and then remove the corrupt admin account. 👍 Thanks a lot.

Let me address to everyone before doing steps 2 and beyond from this video. You can also fix the Windows Button/Start Button by clicking FN and Windows Button simultaneously to enable and disable. The "FN" button is normally found next to the Windows Button, left side. Once clicking the buttons together, check to see if it works. It worked out for me.

I have used all methods and resetting my pc was the only way I would make it work but just from my present experience of resetting I want to tell you all that it may take even an hour like mine did and have connection issues with one drive.

You forgot to mention the thing where you dig down into the control panel and reset the indexing settings. That works perfectly for me every time! :-) however, it is really annoying and almost impossible to find unless you know where to look. I had to dig through several internet forums just to find it, because it obviously wouldn't appear with the lack of start menu search results, and it also doesn't show up in the Windows 10 settings app.

It seems to be a lot easier now with the latest update installed:
      1. From your Desktop, hold down the Windows Logo Key and press i.
      2. When the settings menu comes up, click on either "Search", "Cortana", or "Cortana And Search", the name simply depending on whether or not (and if so, then how strictly) you've hacked Cortana out of your life. I did it fully, so I had to choose "Search".
      3. The rest should all be the same. Next, click the "Searching Windows" tab on the left.
      4. Scroll down to the bottom and pick "Advanced Search Indexer Settings".
      5. Click or tap on the "Advanced" button.
      6. Finally, choose "Rebuild".

😹 Beautiful video 📹, Quick, intuitive and straight to the point 👈....
Although I did try to follow all the methods given, it refused, especially the last crucial part of the sfc command, it kept saying that that the restrictions that have taken effect on my pc are not allowing it to happen, but the last option was to reset my pc 💻 which wasn't what I wanted to do but I had to.. 👀
It really helped me 😣 Alot my guy 😎, thanks ❤..

safe mode it wont start and my browser won't even open. I noticed all the search bars in any explorer won't work. This happened after avast full scan found a bunch of my system 32 was root kits and quarantined them and restarted. Probably were infected real ones so I'm missing like 6 system32 files and one of them probably controls the windows explorer. only option now is a fix reinstalll

Mine worked when I checked the box for normal startup on msconfig. Somehow the check mark was on limited loading of programs and drivers.
