On this day in 1967 {April 5th} the Elvis Presley movie "Double Trouble" opened in theaters across the U.S.A. and Canada... The song "Long Legged Girl" was featured in the film; and on May 20th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart and eventually peaked at #63... English actor Norman Rossington has the distinction of co-starring in an Elvis movie and a Beatles' movie; he appeared in this one and "A Hard Day's Night"... R.I.P. Mr. Rossington {1928 - 1999} and to The King {1935 - 1977}...
Sad he was put in these wacky movies he hated. He wanted to be taken serious. And all his boss was after was money. Dolly Pardon once said the only reason she wasn't able to do her song with him , was because Parker wanted half publishing rights. She said she wouldn't, it was for her family. Greedy man held Elvis back. Just wanted him in Vegas doing show after show. So he could gamble. And Elvis paid his loses.
