Common mistakes for Portuguese Style of Knitting (part 1)

One of the most common mistakes that Portuguese Style of Knitting beginners make is getting confused about the position of the yarn. I like to ask my students to slip the first stitch as if to knit, so we can look at the position of the yarn on the right-hand needle and learn how this works.
