I love Portuguese knitting. I tried learning the regular way, I can do it but Portuguese is so easy.

True. I agree 100%. Why struggle with another method? Thank you for your comment!

Thanks for watching! I am so glad I am reaching France! Last night I watch the biography of Julia Childs and they show beautiful shots of Provence and Paris. I have been visiting your country twice, but I want to go back. When I do, you recommend me yarn shops, please.

My mother taught me knitting when i was a child. I think i was 7 or so. My mother was always knitting portugiese style, so i learned it that way. In earlier times purling was easier to me, so i dis my raglan sweater inside out. Its logical and prett cool.
Now i have my own style of the knit stitch, and now the stickinette is much wasier. I still struggle with the tension in times, but its getting better. I get loose stitches and i dont know why

Wow! Thank you for sharing it. I am wondering how you knit now. You will improve tension with practice!

@@AndreaWongKnits my mother showed me to throw the yarn with the thimb to behind and then again with the thumb to yarn over. Now i do it with my index finger. Its mich less movement in the knitting process and its faster for me

I'm happy that i found the course on Etsy. I began with a pattern in * I think stockinette sts *. Every row I've to knit. Like the purl sts are easier in portugesh knitting I purled Every row. IT worked very fine ❤

Once I understood that Yarn on top=yarn in back, and yarn under=yarn in front, it opened the flood gates 😊❤!

Damn, was hoping for a bit of an explanation on how to translate the decreases, not just hear that it isn't strictly necessary. Oh well, onto the next!

Well, SSK turns into SSP. K2tog turns into P2tog.

Thank you for being such a patient and clear teacher! I would like to follow a hat pattern that is mostly stockinette (k3 p1) and really want to do it Portuguese style and work on the purl side, so I will p3, k1. When the decreases start, some are ssk and some are knit 2 together. Do I also reverse those and do them purl-wise?

Good job! You are clear about what you have to do! If you mean SSP, yes, you have to reverse the stitches. If you mean purl 2together, you don’t need to reverse. Let me know if this helps.

I took up Portuguese knitting from your yt but wasn’t good at P knit stitch. As I was knitting exclusively socks in the round I gave up on the idea and pursued continental. I can’t get my head around doing the inside out left and right leaning stitches . But I might try again.

I have a question: is it pissible to knit a double face sock in portugesh knitting? I have no idea where to put both yarn on the fingers 😢

Do you mean to knit two socks one inside the other? Double knitting? Yes, anything is possible. Would you give me some details or lead me to the pattern?
