What better way to deck out your 07-13 GM 1500 you worked so hard for than with the aggressive stance and jaw-dropping ride height of Rough Country's brand-new 7.5" Suspension Lift for 2007-13 Chevy / GMC 1500 Pickups? This massive lift affords your truck the ability to run up to an impressive 35" tire on factory wheels with our unmatched front and rear high-clearance crossmembers featuring the "RCX" logo. Heavy duty upper strut spacers, a beefy lower skid plate, and a set of differential and sway-bar drop brackets are also included; designed by our in-house Research and Development team with 100% laser-cut materials for the best possible fit on your vehicle. This whopping 7" Lift also comes with a set of rear 6" fabricated anti-wrap lift blocks that offer a huge boost while helping combat dreaded axle wrap issues on inferior big lifts.
Also included are a set of our Nitrogen charged N2 Shocks! Offering the best in balanced performance for on and off-road use, these shocks feature a 10-stage velocity sensitive valving custom tuned for this specific application. That means these shocks are specifically valved for use with this vehicle and lift combo, giving you unparalleled performance for any driving situation.
Just want to say that i just did this lift on my buddies truck. Good luck getting the knuckle and top control arm to connect. I was 2 inches away and thought they sent the wrong struts. We used the 7.5 lift struts instead of spacers. I called rough country and ran all part numbers. I finally got it but had to use strut compressors. Pretty sure i almost met god, but i did get it.
7.5" lift kit in 20 mins .. now that's a fast install
I had a miserable time getting the upper control arm into the knuckle after the lower ball joint was installed. I had to use ratchet straps to pull the control arms towards each other just to get enough thread on the upper ball joint to grab it and suck it into the knuckle. I didn’t loosen the upper control arm during install, it would have most likely been easier that way, but there was barely any compression in the strut/spring assy to allow for installation
Need new a arms I bet ur tires wore on the inside
8-10 hours the direction say...2.5 days in the average joe garage, even with a sufficiently full set of tools and that's assuming you don't sleep the first night. If you want to get this done in 8-10 hours, they should ship that second dude to you in the box so he can hold everything while you unbolt it. The main dude in the video barely has grease on his hands. By the end of of day one, the bums outside of the auto parts store didn't want to get near me because I looked too dirty.
This comment is 8 months old and it is entirely under rated lol
Took me 12 hours and I’ve never put a lift on before
@@koltonhinton4894 let's see it
You must be inconsistent or working on a rust bucket or all in all not a mechanic lmao
If your going to cut the outer tie rods why not replace them with something you can grease. As this stuff gets older I see that as a problem. I would have included new inner and outer ends in the kit. Pretty cool otherwise. Sounds like it would fit a Tahoe as well?
I couldn’t agree more . I’m getting ready to install a RC 6” lift by myself. I already have the kit but I am replacing cv shafts hub bearings all bushing’s etc while I have it apart.
Worse thing to do is to cut out for the crossmember. Had my lift for. Few years now looking in too dropping it back to stock… fuxked up thing is that no shop will tell you this.
I bought my truck 09 GMC Sierra and I’m not sure the exact lift I have but it’s a RCX Lift kit installed!! My rear blocks are 7” and front strut spacer is 6”.. 🤷🏼♂️
I’m in the same boat, let me know if you found any helpful information!
I just picked up my 7.5 lift for my 08 GMC 1500 yesterday Tue/April/6th and I am so disappointed in it that I will be returning it. I got the old styel strut spacers, the ones that had the problems with the welds cracking when tightening the bolts and not the new styel ones, You guys really cut corners on the welding of the components, their should have been more welds, And I have never seen orange peel on powder coating so even the powder coating is the shits. I would be scared to even put this lift on my truck.
It appears you might have just received a bad part as that is not common on our spacers to not be sufficiently welded or manufactured. We would be glad to send you a replacement pair if you gave us a call at 1-800-222-7023
Of only there was a place around here in ft wayne Indiana that installed lifts
Losen and remove the vehicle completely. Lol
I swear
Don't forget to clean up the area with the disc sander too.
😂😂😂😂
This kit didn’t need bigger uca?
Wish there wasnt so much cutting but will be buying
I have a 2011 z71 with the 7.5" lift kit, and was to the understanding that the stock upper control arms are ok to use, but I have gone through 2 sets of upper ball joints (moog) since installing (less than 30k miles). Should I use a different style upper control arm?
Moog used to be top of the line not anymore they are garbage best to get oem.
Hey what did you end up doing? I have extended uppers for my leveling kit.. I'm wondering if the extended uppers will be okay to use with the new knuckles or if I need to use the stock ones..
RC has new forged UCAs to help with those angles for this specific kit.
Will this work for a vehicle with electric power steering
Does this require major modification or could this easily be changed out to a smaller lift? I’m looking at a truck with this kit but the lift is too high
It's a 1 time lift. Theres too much modification. There's no removing it once installed.
That kit fit on a 2013 chevy silverado
How the hell did you get that upper control arm in so easy, I've been struggling for hours, still can't get it in
Can’t you guys come up with a hardware design that does not require any cutting?
That would be hard to do since we have to drop the diff so much to and have to trim for proper clearance.
It's basic physics really... 2 things cannot both occupy the same space at once. If you think this is bad, find some old 4x4 magazines and look at what it took to install early IFS suspension lifts. None of the cutting in this kit compromises strength of the chassis. The one single change I'd like to see would be a single piece crossmember. As far as I know there's only one company doing that, and their kit costs twice what this one does. This will be the kit I install on my truck when the time comes.
Mcgaughys lift..no cutting full 7 inch drop crossmember.
The cutting is the easiest part.....
trunkbangking......You still have to cut the crossmember like every other kit. There is no way around not cutting it, the diff will hit no matter what. You would have to drop the diff almost 15 inches to clear the crossmember bracket.
You obviously do not own the kit, so how about doing research before you comment.
Step 11 in the McGaughys SS 7-9" Lift
11. On the PASSENGER side lower a-arm frame mount you
will need to cut off 3 1/2”. Using a marker and a straight
edge, measure and mark 3 1/2” from the edge of the frame
mount inward and then cut with a sawzall.
Wish RC had a sponsor budget.
Just installed this kit (7.5in w/N3 Struts) on a 07 Tahoe 4WD. I was wanting to purchase your forged upper control arms but in the description it states, Does NOT fit models with 5, 6, or 7.5 inch suspension lift kits. In a response here to another comment, you said it will. Can I get an answer on whether it will fit or not?
yes they will fit
Would you need to buy a new drive shaft for this lift kit
Why are you guys trying so hard to make your voices sound cool and manly like batman? I don't see you guys fighting crime.
Because we are cool. How do you know we're not Batman?
Ok two things. I wish there was a live install video for the Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche 7.5 lift kit. The Animated one is ok, But i feel like a live one would be better suited and 2. What the heck is up with the cat meow every now and then. had me lookin for a cat in my room haha
itd be nice to see a 00-06 tahoe rough country lift video, cant find one anywhere
Boogaz Incorporated same thing as a pickup of that year.
What’s the deal about the ebrake bracket? So u just take it off then put it back on 🤷🏻♂️
Won’t this kit fit say my 2014 crew cab. Gmc z71
Can I run a 33 12 50?
Assassins creed ost in the background ♥
I bought the 6 inch do I really have to cut my tierods?
Yes. In order to properly align the vehicle you will have to trim the tie rods and sleeves on the knuckle kits.
Rough Country but my instructions don't say to do that?
Yes. Just did mine. Instructions say cut 3/8" from inner and outer tie rod. I ended up cutting 1/2" on driver side for a little more toe in alignment.
I have an 08' Silverado 2wd, and I want to install this exact lift, will it require the cutting portions?
www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-263.html?find=2008-chevy-silverado-1500-2wd-374116
Here is the 2WD option
Don’t....
😂😂 jack up a 2 wheel dig
Do you have to have a new drive shaft to put that lift on
If it’s a 2wd will it still require the cutting portions
2WD does not require any cutting
Rough Country what would you rate the difficulty on this specific truck and lift but on a 2wd for the average joe.
Anyone know where I can find torqe specs for all this. Is it different from factory
where the front cross member is installed the upper bolts where you cut your better off welding each side it makes craking noices like hell dont know if i had wrong bolts or what threads are 1/2” inside the plate making cross member slide
This is a four wheel drive?
Had this lift installed on my 08 1500 vortex Max. Pushed the breaks real hard to keep from hitting a girl running across the road. Driveshaft ended up popping out too much and when I stopped putting so much force on the break the driveshaft tried going back in but ended up destroying the slip yoke and tranny had to be replaced/rebuilt. The tranny shop said I needed a 2 inch spacer but another truck/lift shop said there’s no need for a spacer, maybe the shop that installed the lift put the blocks on backwards? SO I wanted to know if I need a spacer or a word with the guys who lifted my truck....
The bigger end of the block should be the rear of the vehicle. Is that the way it was installed? Do you have a 1 piece or 2 piece rear drive shaft?
Rough Country the blocks are installed correctly and I have a one piece driveshaft. My trucks is a 2wd
Can I do it at my house with jacks and jack stands ??
You can if you have the tools, it's not easy and requires some patience, but you'll feel great when you say " I did it myself"....
go for it 👍
Hi 👋 I'm interested in this how much is the kit
www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-264.html#278=516&266=734
Hello I have a 2007 gmc yukon xl denali will this kit fit my truck.i took off all my electronic suspension in the front and put regular struts and the same for the rear took the air shock off and put regular
On scale from 1-10, 10 being very difficult. How difficult is this for the average person who’s never done anything like this before?
7 but just because it's time consuming.
@@RoughCountryTV no welding with this kit?(about half done with vid haha)
Currently have this kit on, with no sway bar at all, to put one on, do y’all sell extended end links so I don’t have to drill?
Better off drilling
What kit do I need for 2009 chevy tahoe with zw7 suspension RPO code?
I need for my LTZ Tahoe 2007 4x4
Can i use 22 wheel rims with 35 tires
How would I go about a 7.5 lift on my 07 tahoe ltz with autoride?
Looks like a fun way to lose your rear axle. I like the front end lift parts, but your rear lifts are so unsafe! Why not offer less blocks and more leaf lift.
Because it will ride like a dump truck, this is actually better, it's safe when installed correctly.
My Chevy 1500 pulls 8,000 lb mini-excavators on double axle as well as fully loaded dump trailers haven't had any issues yet with these blocks my truck had now has 420,000 km and if you add more leaf springs u lose your flexibility for off-roading 2010 Silverado on a 7.5 in rough country suspension lift on 35s
I put 3500 leaf springs on my 1500 and it rides perfectly fine for me.
I’m not a sensitive man that would complain about flexibility or rough ride nonsense, but to each their own.
It is what it is..
Everyone is asking questions that can be answered by going to their website
Just cerious if you don't cut the tie rods and it ends can u still get it within soec
No. The tie rods have to be cut in order to bring into alignment specs
@@RoughCountryTV one other question with doing this and putting bigger tires on will it drastically lower towing as I have a 7x16 inclosed trailer with 2 sleds
do you have to cut on the crossmember if you’re 2wd?
have you found that out yet?
@@KahnanFN yes you don’t have to cut anything but your tie rods
CV shaft angles are absolutely ridiculous. Make a better drop bracket, or we won’t buy RCX anymore. I’ve gone through 4 hub assemblies and 4 CV shaft assemblies.
The diff drop brackets are to short. They should be at least 2" bigger then the cv angles would be better.
This lift was installed on a truck that I just bought, but the camber is way off on my tires if I get your longer upper control arms would that bring it back out instead of using the stock upper control arms because they rub the coil springs.
Our upper arms would allow for additional camber adjustment
@@RoughCountryTV broooo you again. You guys told me tha I won’t, I’ll never gonna bye RC stuff, y’all don’t know how to make anything about liftkits. Twice alignment, new upper and cam plate… you just ruin my suburban
@@samuelrodriguez9395 I believe that was user error
even for a 6 inch lift kit will they be cutting and if the cutting is necessary won't that weaken the frame or something
You cut the tie rods and tie rod ends, crossmember pockets and diff but with this kit installed per instructions and the cutting that is needed to be done it does not jeopardize the integrity of the strength of the vehicle or frame.
I believe the only difference between the 6" kit and the 7.5" kit is the rear blocks, u-bolts, and strut spacers.
How do you align your truck after a lift install like this?
You have to call around and find a shop that'll do it. I'm not sure where you live but NTB will do it.
You guys don’t make this lift for 03-06? Chevy 1500?
We do not. 6" is the biggest kit we offer for the 99-06.
Can you use this kit with aftermarket upper control arms for a 2-4" lifted truck?
I'm very interested in this kit! However, I noticed it's advertised as "for 4WD Chevy trucks"! I own a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 RWD. Is there a different kit for that?...Thanks......Richard
Yes there is a difference in the 4WD and 2WD options. Here is the link for the 2WD option.
www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-263.html
will this tutorial work on a 2014 chevy 1500?? help please
No this one is only compatible with the 07-13. The 14-Up are a little different with the steering components.
Rough Country is there a video for the 14s??
pls make a tutorial for 2014 chevy with a 7" lift being installed
It dont take no 20 mins to do kit on a lift a day not taking care of frame an bad parts 3 days doing it right an a week on jack stands replacing all the other bad parts you find then up date frame .some parts take longer
How many inches are from center of wheel to fender
Front and back
How many inches is the total high of truck front and rear 08 silverado 2wd
28.5" from center of the wheel to the fender. We do not offer the total height to the top of the truck due to variation in tire sizes.
Rough Country i have 33/12.50/20
How much of a drop does the front crossmember have is it a true 6" or 8"
I have a 2008 Silverado 1500 that I bought that came with a 4 inch suspension lift and I added a strut spacer so basically a leveling kit to make it a 6 inch lift now my CV angles are at an angle and was told I need to drop the front diff down more but called rough country and the front diff block spacers are the same for a 4 inch lift and the 6 inch lift? A suspension shop told me I had to just take the lift off because there was nothing I could do. I just didn’t get how a 4 inch lift and a 6 inch lift use the same size of front diff drop bracket and how the CV angles wouldn’t be different then with the larger lift ?
You have created the CV axle issue by adding the level kit to the 4" kit. Your best bet is to replace the 4" strut spacers with the 6" strut spacer to correct the geometry and removing the level spacer.
What if you want to go back stock? Can you go back ?
Once you install the 5", 6" or 7.5" you can not return the vehicle back to stock ride height.
Alan...but why go back to stock?
Hope you got your lift...once you go there...you will never be the same...hahaha
Alan Perez save the piece of steel you cut off and all the stock parts, all you have to do is weld it back together. It’s an easy weld. Make sure you do your cut nice so it’s easy to refit and weld after
Me gustaria colocarle esta suspension a mi camioneta Silverado 2008, tienen vendedores en Venezuela??
Does this lift require aftermarket upper control arms or can I use my stock ones?
aftermarket ones are recommended, but stock ones are still useable. it just puts more strain on them with the weird angles
is there more things I need to do to my truck to prepare for putting this in? should I regear it?
th-cam.com/video/3Uo7AzjYXzw/w-d-xo.html
noah gentleman why would you have to change gears? All you are doing is raising the center of gravity of the truck. You only have to change gears If you are putting on anything bigger then a 33-35 inch tire depending on the vehicle you have.
Does this kit can be installed cadillac escalade also?
How many hours does this take ?
8-10 according to the website but I’d clear out at least 2-3 days

Can you run 35x12.5x20x9"on factory rims with no trimming to inner or outer fender well with this lift.
As noted on the site you have to run aftermarket offset wheels on that kit due to the lifted knuckles that are included in the kit.
@@RoughCountryTV "I just bought black factory 20"x9" rims for $800.00 Canadian so I better be able to use them with this lift" This is off your website: Gain ride height at an incredible value with Rough Country's 7.5-inch Suspension Lift for '07 - '13 Chevy / GMC 1500 Pickup. Chris Iniguez why would you get a 2wd truck? 😂😂

Yes
Alot of important parts that can get you killed if not installed properly.. obviously you guys are extreme professionals.. but what about factory torque specs?

All torque specs are included here in the install instructions.
Plus that you send kits out not signed for then you reside a kit all scrapped an scratched up an then dont answer calls an emails after the fact I'll never use rough country lifts again
Can you replace rc rear shocks with billstein or something else? Or Are they taller than normal, thanks.
Our shocks are taller to accommodate our kits on the vehicles. You can use other aftermarket shocks as long as they are the correct specs for the specific ride height.
You have any front wheel alignment issues?
Whats the highest lif kit for my Avalanche -08 AWD?
7.5" is the biggest kit we offer but you will have to change out your front drive shaft to a double cardan drive shaft in order to run that kit. It will not work with the AWD

Freppster By being sexy for daddy

What way do the strut spacer go? It has a angle to it on one side
The curved side goes into the strut housing. The flat part goes to strut
Any kits for the 06 4x4 silverado? Looking to get 24x14 on 35 but want minimal cutting. What size lift do you recommend?
That size tire and wheel requires a 6" lift kit to clear that tire and wheel combo

Yes the 6" kit installs the exact same way as the 7.5"
What about a 2wd
Why what’s the point
What wheels are they and what size ?
will this still be a 4x4 after u install the 7.5" kit ?
Unless you fail to reinstall the front drive shaft, it will remain a functional 4x4.
No it will be a 1×4 so you cant go offroad
What is the measurement on that rear block?
7" Anti Wrap block. You remove stock block and replace it with this aftermarket block.

Bullshit, you're clueless...

What year model is your truck? What are your front and rear ride height measurements from center of the wheel to the fender? Not the top of the tire but from the center of the wheel to the fender. Thanks.
what song is that?

2 inch
I thought basically the same width as the cv axel spacers
Now explain why the customer needs new wheel bearings! Because you destroyed them using an impact gun on the axle nut!
Are you referring to the CV axle nut? Nothing wrong with using an impact on that at all when torqued to spec.
Go mcgaughys..you dont have to cut anything!!
Yes you do, you cut the crossmember bracket. Obviously you do not have the kit, but in the instructions, it is step 11.
11. On the PASSENGER side lower a-arm frame mount you
will need to cut off 3 1/2”. Using a marker and a straight

Yes you can. It will more or less bolt up without issue. I have personally never done this, but my shop has many of times.
What size rear lift block comes with a 6” lift?
5.25" rear block on that one that replaces the stock rear block
Thank you!
Need to put out a better video an let people know they need to replace almost every thing else with the kit add in lol put you another 3,000 up for other parts you'll need
