This install and the video editing ended up being marathons, so it only made sense to make the video one as well! Originally intended to be a two-parter, but there wasn't an obvious cut point so I hope you like long, detailed episodes! The edit of this was so daunting it took 16 months to get around to it (whoops). I wouldn't expect a lot of videos this long, but do you still want to see this kind of detail from our content? Or would a somewhat more condensed version be more desirable? (ex. Describing what we had to do to remove bolts vs. just removing them) Sorry that this is being posted late in the weekend but it took every last minute to put this one together. I don't know how long the 4K version will take to process so if you only see the 1080p option it's because I wanted it published ASAP and it should show up within a few hours.
I like your detail you include. And I like the quicker pace on the second side. I personally have always enjoyed videos around 40 minutes to an hour long for vehicle repair/installations.
nice video install a wrench with your custom front bumper, install a custom rear bumper, install a cargo LED bed light (it cost less than 30 dollars and it takes less than and than an hour to install a well) also do LED lights conversion for your taillights, blinker lights, and headlights, and bring back the led brake light, also install aux leds reverse lights, paint the chevy logo with black paint, install a custom black wheels, install a train horn on this truck, install LED lights for all of your gage lights such as check engine lights and mph lights, also do sound deadening in this truck, and install a touch screen audio system in this truck, also when are your pontiac's coming back, when is the 240z coming back, when is the blazer coming back, please reply
I liked the length of the video. I'm sure you could have condensed some parts of it but, I didn't lose interest during it at all. Thanks for the content.
I love that you use so many “less expensive” Harbour Freight tools like a lot of us have at home or can afford to buy. Shows you don’t need the most expensive tools off of the tool truck to get the work done.
@@Anythingautomotive I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily true, there are certain tools I use from snap on I would never even consider from harbor freight for instance screw drivers, and pliers huge quality difference. As far as impact sockets and regular hand tools I mostly agree. Snap on makes very comfortable wrenches but the icon line of hand tools are almost identical for less than a quarter of the price. I also use a 3/4” snap on ratchet with a torque multiplier when I’m disassembling hydraulic cylinders, I would never trust putting that kind of torque on a harbor freight 3/4” ratchet. I’d say application really matters, I agree most snap on tools are ridiculously priced, but when you make a living with your tools you need some high quality tools. I also buy a lot of sunex tools, great tools for the money.
I don't think I've ever even made a comment on TH-cam before but I wanted to take a moment to commend everything about this channel. I know there are people like myself who seriously cannot get enough of your excellent content, whether it be a hour of lifting your truck or watching the entire S10 blazer series in a day or anything else. You seriously put all the required time and effort into every project and continue it into every video (editing, filming, etc) and it seriously shows. This is arguably the best channel on TH-cam in my opinion and even though videos like this are daunting for some and may not cash in on those sweet sweet views you are clearly doing great work and I, personally (as well as many others I'm sure), love to see it. Thank you for your channel and everything. Cheers
Love these videos. You do a great job actually filming and describing what you are doing and why. Super entertaining and informative. Thanks for the content!
I did the 2.5" Rough Country kit on my 1980 Scout, but lucky for me it has a solid axle in the front with leaf springs so I just had to swap out all 4 leaf springs and shocks. The whole job took about 5 hours to do solo but was much easier than what you had to go through. I do think you should consider extending your bump stops to avoid blowing out your shocks.
I know the feeling with those Suspension kits, I put a 2 inch lift under my 94 Explorer, it said about 5 hours for complete installation. Instead it took me about 12 hours. I did get the same Brand as you Rough Country, and I can say the exact same thing happened to me, and I just didn't trust the bolts, so I also replaced those. The only ones I kept was the U-bolts because I needed them for the lift. Also I believe they only do the time tests in 100% conditions where nothing is rusted and everything goes smoothly. Which I know is normal for Commission times and all, if you're getting it done professionally.
I had a 2011 Silverado quad cab with pretty much that exact wheel/tire/lift kit combo. This video made me SO happy i had a shop install it instead of doing it in my apartment parking lot lol. Excellent video as always, Sir!
Great video !! I bought the same 3.5 inch kit for our 2013 Tahoe z71. Havnt installed it yet. Although mine comes with different options for the rear. Shock relocation brackets and spacers for the spring in back as mine does not have leafs. Gonna video it when I install and can only hope I do as decent of a job as you did!!! Thanks for the video!! It helped me a lot as far as notching the crossmember and installing the structure spacers. That’s was my only hesitation in installing mine and now I feel comfortable doing it!!!
as a front end mechanic for 20 yrs. I give this job A+....I would have brought it to a good alignment shop after all the height adjustments though....you said toe changed and I am sure the camber/caster went off a bit...great video...subscribed now too
I don't own any of the cars you work on, and probably never will, but I really enjoy watching your work. You do an excellent job of documenting everything.
I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed this video and I appreciate all the work that went into filming and editing it. And yes, I watched it in its entirety, pausing when I would get a water refill. Keep up the good work!
To everyone watching. All harborfreight and Pittsburg jack stands have been recalled due to poor welding. Causing the stand to split in half and fall under load! If you have one, re-weld it or don't use it.
I plan to do a similar small lift on my 1990 k2500. I dont want to do a lot of fender trimming to clear an old set of 33x14-16 boggers. I had to drop my diff about 18 months ago to pull the oil pan. My driver's side header collector curls under the front driveshaft so I won't have clearance for a big diff drop bracket. I think a 3-4" lift would be about right for me. I want it to look close to stock and still be useful when loading and unloading stuff in the bed. Everyone has tried to load firewood into the bed of a truck with a tailgate that is shoulder high. Ugh. I enjoy your videos and the level of detail that you go through. I make videos but mine aren't nearly as good. I film... and if I don't get it on the first take, I dont get the shot. Lol. I also don't do voice-over work on my videos. Most times that I need any introduction, I film myself talking and rambling. Voice-over would help me be more direct and to the point.. I did sit through the entire hour long video. The engine in my pickup is mostly finished. I'd like to try a diy interchiller to cool an air-to-water intercooler on the centrifugal supercharger of my 350. The transmission just got upgraded to a 4L80E from an old 3 speed turbo 400. Now I'm looking at the suspension. She's a daily driver. Keep up the videos. I have a couple 3rd gen Camaros and can apply everything you do to at least one of the vehicles in my fleet.
I’ve been in a few of those all nighters. Last one I was swapping the rear diff on my E36 with a welded one, and it took me a very long time. I think I was doing that for like 12 hours? I was doing it before a drift event the following day, and I was so tired I didn’t even go.
Sometimes it's nice to have a long video. Sometimes I feel robbed after a few weeks of super short videos. I like the long ones and the short ones, but I also think that only long videos would get old too. A mix is best in my opinion
Love you videos some people say watching an hour long video it's challenging I have done it several times enjoy your videos hope you have a good day too
Excellent job as usual man, thank you for this marathon video! Do the best you can with the budget and time you've got. I'd suggest oil undercoating to keep down the rust.
Unfortunately I don't have a cat or dog, but I was entertained during last hour. I was doing my own office work at the same time and this was great background! (I mean I may have stopped my work every other minute or so to look what was happening but anyway) :D
even if it got to big to get out of the garage with the large tires on it you could always put the smaller tires back on just long enough to get it out of the garage (or just take a risk and let the air out of the tires lol)
Lol the front sway bar on my 07 suburban rusted off. When I put a rough country leveling kit on it I just ripped it off and just said “Better off-roading!”
Dude, after watching this entire video I had to subscribe. You did an amazing job. I specially appreciate the voice over and all the editing. As a fellow YT'er I know the efforts and time that all that editing takes. (My least favorite part). Your video and explanations are truly EXCELLENT!!! Thank you. I ordered my 3.5" lift from RC with shocks and struts and it should be here in a couple weeks. My 2012 GMC should be Totally Awesome once lifted. Thanks again. Take care buddy. Joseph :)
Hey Dude(s) - how do those Swampers wear on the ole highway? I used to run TSLs (older & newer ply) on a YJ Jeep & they were great since I rotated regularly (earlier then suggested), but wonder how they do on heavier vehicles.
i may be in the minority but i prefer these long form type videos. i usually leave them on and listen while playing games. so know that i watched through all the way. nice combine sticker btw.
I have an older S-10. Although I wont be putting a lift kit on it, I found some good information on some front end work I need to do that should help me. Thanks!

A half life fan ehh, I see that combine sticker on the tailgate. I used to have a lamda on my rams rear bumper.
I like your detail you include. And I like the quicker pace on the second side. I personally have always enjoyed videos around 40 minutes to an hour long for vehicle repair/installations.

do colivers conversion in this truck like fox or rough country, also the best lif kit on the market i've been hearing lately is BDS
I liked the length of the video. I'm sure you could have condensed some parts of it but, I didn't lose interest during it at all.
Thanks for the content.
It took me an hour to realise this video was an hour
yup
Same
i was like, no way this video was one hour.... well.....i'll be dipped...
I fell asleep
Yeah. I don't know why it isn't feel like an hour video
My dog did greatly enjoy this. She’s currently installing her own 3.5in lift kit on her crate as we speak. (Bark)
I love that you use so many “less expensive” Harbour Freight tools like a lot of us have at home or can afford to buy. Shows you don’t need the most expensive tools off of the tool truck to get the work done.
Hope his jackstands aren't from there.
He's one of us too, he just makes videos so we can share in making memories
People buy snap on, blue point, etc just to say they have it. No point when harbor freight stuff works just as well if not better.

Open TH-cam looking at what’s on today and see an hour long Fuzzy video. I’m one happy person
This is the only channel that can keep my attention on such a long video.
The little humorous comments and video subtitles is really what makes this channel a great one. Thank you for endless hours of entertainment!
Perfect timing to open TH-cam looking for something to watch
Plus u get an hour of watch time
I don't think I've ever even made a comment on TH-cam before but I wanted to take a moment to commend everything about this channel. Don't ever stop doing what you do my man, because you do it well.
I never noticed the 88-98 style “CHEVROLET” on the tailgate, nice touch!
I'd watch hour long videos of you talking and working on trucks every day,
Love it
Great video, I had not noticed the length until you mentioned it. Keep up the good work it is much appreciated. Cheers from the UK.
Love these videos. You do a great job actually filming and describing what you are doing and why. Super entertaining and informative. Thanks for the content!
Didn't even realize it was an hour long until after when i read the comments. Still better than some movies i've seen. Good job
I love your videos because of how you narrate them step by step. I enjoy watching how people work on their vehicles.

Yes! Silverado returns! Will have to continue the rest of the video later. I love these Long videos so I can just return to them when I have time
My dog and I commend your efforts.
Can't wait for the next video to be EVEN longer.
Great video! The length is fine for me. I do want to give you props for your narration skills in your videos, Awesome work!
as a front end mechanic for 20 yrs. I give this job A+....I would have brought it to a good alignment shop after all the height adjustments though....you said toe changed and I am sure the camber/caster went off a bit...great video...subscribed now too
Watched it all, enjoyed it all!
I have a 2009 Silverado and have been looking to do something like this. Your video made it look very easy.
Not quite the '91 Firebird but enjoy seeing the progression of the other vehicles none the less :) Thank you!
Do you have a Firebird?
Love the firebird project.
I bought a' 91 firebird 5.0 tbi because of this channel !
Firebird lift kit video will be next week...
made one hour feel much shorter than an hour. time well spent, awesome work as always.
Thank you for taking the time to make this. Excellent video, nothing left unexplained 👍
Watched start to finish, with both of my dogs. We all loved it. Great work
being from south Carolina. That comment about not being in the carolinas was great hahah
Awesome work sir. Loved the entire video. Love your attention to detail. Especially on torque specs. Helps alot. Very good 👍
I watched the entire thing, and enjoyed every bit of it! Thank you
4 years late to the party but this video was so enjoyable. Great job explaining everything!
Us brave souls enjoy your videos and appreciate your hard work

This is super informative , just what I was looking for.
The truck looks amazing. I've looked at Rough Country's lift kits for my 2014 Silverado. I'm glad to see that their products perform great.
I’ve been in a few of those all nighters. Last one I was swapping the rear diff on my E36 with a welded one, and it took me a very long time. I think I was doing that for like 12 hours? I was doing it before a drift event the following day, and I was so tired I didn’t even go.

Employing it's dirt shower defense mechanism." Priceless.
Love the hl2 combine logo on the tail gate lol.
Love you videos some people say watching an hour long video it's challenging I have done it several times enjoy your videos hope you have a good day too
Thanks very much!
This was one our of good entertainment.
Dude the little text easter eggs you leave are hilarious😂 "FREEDOM!" says the leveling spacer!
Good video. Love the details. The length of the video wasn't bad just takes a couple sittings to watch it all.
I really like the look of the 2007 and 2020
i watched the whole video and i only realised it was one hour long when you said about how long it took you too produce!
Excellent work!
You sell yourself short. These videos are excellent.
Thanks for all your hard work
I am delighted. Thank you for your time.
Same thing we would do to the Chevy LUV pickups back in the day LOL
3:31 I see that combine symbol from half-life, I see you're a man of culture as well!
a man of taste
Made the right move not getting the RC struts, RC struts and shocks blow
I line the lined vids you do. Keep up the amazing work
I’m fitting 33x12.50 toyo mts on a level just trim the plastic and a slight norcal and call it a day
I watched the whole entire video. Truck looks better with the lift.
The rust you all have to deal with is insane.
Great instalation video.
Great content dude and I really appreciate you making it an hour long
watched the whole thing, great video
Apparently the long video was a hit, I enjoyed it too 👍
Excellent job as usual man, thank you for this marathon video! Do the best you can with the budget and time you've got. I'd suggest oil undercoating to keep down the rust.
Great video!!! Still the s-10 fender.
Unfortunately I don't have a cat or dog, but I was entertained during last hour. I was doing my own office work at the same time and this was great background! (I mean I may have stopped my work every other minute or so to look what was happening but anyway) :D
This was a great video. Thank you for your insight on doing something like this
An hour long??
OH, HELL YEAH!!
even if it got to big to get out of the garage with the large tires on it you could always put the smaller tires back on just long enough to get it out of the garage (or just take a risk and let the air out of the tires lol)
I love the combine sticker. so he plays game and works on cars this is who I want to be
Lol the front sway bar on my 07 suburban rusted off. When I put a rough country leveling kit on it I just ripped it off and just said “Better off-roading!”

It's kinda random but what's that pair of boots shown to the left of the screen at 33:47? They look pretty comfy.
Dreaded harbor freight recalled jack stands 😉
Ugga dugga’s at 5:36am 😳🤣
Hey Dude(s) - how do those Swampers wear on the ole highway? I used to run TSLs (older & newer ply) on a YJ Jeep & they were great since I rotated regularly (earlier then suggested), but wonder how they do on heavier vehicles.
good video. good editing. Keep it up
Welp, cats, dogs, wife and two daughters said, he can do it, so can we. A 2007 chevy will be in in our lil fleet real soon.
Well, myself did watch the entire episode and enjoy it well so thank you!
54:00 -The new shocks don't have any dust protection?
i may be in the minority but i prefer these long form type videos. i usually leave them on and listen while playing games. so know that i watched through all the way. nice combine sticker btw.
Watched while doing Monday reports.
I have an older S-10. Although I wont be putting a lift kit on it, I found some good information on some front end work I need to do that should help me. Thanks!
I love love love the longer videos
I made it to the end voluntarily!!
Great stuff man.
excellent video!
"Percussion engineering" I like the sound of that!
Is that a Combine logo on the tail gate?
Seen it too! Definetely!
He had a half life 2 logo sticker on his previous vehicle before he trade it for the truck.
He have good taste in gaming, that game is a true masterpiece!
if i learn something watching your series is that when i want to put hands on a car for some replace or modification, i need an impact gun ahahaha
That combine sticker is sick
Hour long video? Love it!
Looks great. Did you ever figure out why the gears started slipping in reverse? Thanks I have the same truck
You can see that in episodes 9 and 10 when we rebuilt the transfer case. There were a few failures, but the transfer case output shaft bearing had so much play that it was walking the whole shaft and the splines would slip. There is a TSB on that bearing's C clip failing and causing basically the same thing but interestingly it wasn't how mine failed.
