    For me, one of the biggest benefits of dry fire practice is that you learn to NOT flinch. The flinch or yank is what causes most inaccuracy. But dry fire allows you to really settle and isolate to just the trigger finger action.

      It sure does!

    If you don’t know if you can dry fire your gun get some snap caps for your caliber if ya really wanna splurge get a mag full of them then it will help with your reloads cause cycling the bolt will actually eject a round
    Great idea MDT !

    I just want MDT to know, I began doing research on their ESS chassis for the savage axis II and I saw them being active in the comments replying to questions and being supportive. I was on the fence between MDT and others but now, it's no question. MDT it is. Can't wait for it to get here.

    Hey I recognize this fella from the range last week. Gently reminded me of some poor range etiquette I was guilty of and I appreciate that.

    Where can I find this flip cap?

    Dry fire is good for the basics, square body positioning to the platform, trigger pull, follow through, operating the bolt without losing sight picture,... however to become a pro you'll need wind, mirage, weather, and the skill to calculate scope elevation in relation to distance to target, angle of degree to target,... you're not going to pick that up on your living room floor with snap caps.

      @j.e.honiball1327 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's also easier to pick up the more advanced stuff like windage, mirage and elevation if you have the basics down and can put down accurate and consistent groups downrange, so you know any discrepancies would be due to said effects

      The only thing you dont get inside is wind and mirage. Which most people also dont get going to their 200 yard range

      Most any modern firearms( including some .22lr, but I wouldn’t recommend it) are safe to dry fire.

      Centerfire rifles are fine to dry fire (rem 700, tikka t3, howa 1500).
      Rim fire rifles can get damaged over time (tikka t1, cz 457, mkii).

      Check with a local optometrist. You need a +0.25 diopter lens. I then had them cut the diameter down to fit inside a butler creek cap.

    Thank you for the video; please can I ask what is the make of the Real weights/grips closest to the action. Also what are the inlets for within the butt stock, they look cool I really like them? Thank you.

    Its always weird for me seeing fluted barrels in comp rifles and then a ton of additional weight near the end. If you had just a straight barrel you could lose at least one pair of the weights.

    • @j.e.honiball1327
      @j.e.honiball1327 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but now there is more weight to be lost in case you want to go hunting or need a lighter rifle for some reason. But I get what you mean, most people won't take those weights off for the majority of shooting. Most people get fluted barrels because they look cool and maybe for some of the little added cooling.
