Well, then you get to live wherever and in whatever you want. But while price points are certainly impressive, location and taste tend to trump all, and while plenty of wealthy celebrities live in extravagant homes, they’re not always the nicest. No wonder wealthy and famous people are almost always the ones depressed and unhappy. Like really how can you be in this massive place and not feel lonely and depressed? Many of them have adult children that have moved away from home to live on their own. So how do these people cope with such massive homes? I don’t really understand but I hope one day I can. I love big homes but these sizes are scary .

They must be unhappy. You can't get through a day's entertainment show anymore w/o yet another celebrity bemoaning to the world about their latest, petty, personal, menial woe so their fans (who made them rich & famous) will stroke their poor, precious egos...it's an epidemic in Hollywood! They must be the most entitled, unhappy & unhealthiest people on the planet.

Nah the most depressed are workin class the highest suicide rates are among the poor, i know ultra wealthy ppl who have large mega mansions an they r doin just fine. You just go based on what you hear do you know all 3000 billionaires? No and so its a mixed bag.
And some old money families multiple generations will live in house an they pass it on. So multiple generations will live there an some children like the Duponts the family that owns delaware have several generations live on 1 island
I live in the woods of Idaho on 20 acres and I wouldn’t trade any of these places for mine if I had to live there.

Never want a home like these. No person needs homes like those. It is just a waste of material things. You can have a nice home without all that cost and size.
The nuveau rich do to say they have arrived. But those that are grounded, not so much Pierce Bronson house is just not even close to the love I have for Will Smith's perfect paradise home.

I work here in Moscow as a house cleaner and seeing my employers leave their mansion early morning to go work, go home late and just sleep, it's like I enjoy the house more than they do lol, but even if clean all houses here I still can not even afford to buy ticket to go back home..

I would take the first one, sell it, keep 30 million and buy/build a cosy house and share with family and friends. The rest I would give away to those in need - including our fury friends. You only need so much money in life.

I have a five bedroom, two bathroom house, and it's too big now for us. It was good for raising six kids though. I can't imagine having a house that size.

I don’t like the ultra modern houses. They look like office blogs. I don’t like all white decor.

I would only have a big home if I were to have all my family living with me. Would anyone really want a massive home if they live alone. It would feel really isolating xx

Because they aren't practical or want to flash their success. Also their accountants often advise them to make real estate investments. That practice is a little passe to me though. The market fluctuates so often anymore it just doesn't make sense to put that much money into it.
Unless you're buying undeveloped land as an investment I'd say steer clear of it. There's so many other better investments that would see your money grow, many without the huge up and down.
Then there's the architects and designers that decide a 10 bedroom home needs 25 bathrooms. It's a mystery to me as well why anyone would need 25 crappers. Odd.

I clean homes for a living and I can’t imagine keeping up these places it takes a full staff every single day
Why are 25bathrooms ever necessary?
So many of these aren't houses anymore, they're compounds with 90% unused most of the year probably. So many are super customized which make them unsellable like Michael Jordan's Chicago home with six price drops and being on the market for 15 years.
Nothing says ostentatious and new money like Jordan's house. Many celebs don't live like that. Jordan's house is just a house. John Stamos' house is one of my favourites! It's got the most amazing views!
Duponts are 240 years old old money an they have palaces as big as bill gates. They basically own delawarw

I’ve had a larger home. They’re a pain. Now I live in a one level bungalow style and I love it! I’ve found I’d rather have simple than all that maintenance and upkeep.
Me two it is way to big and maintenance is unlimited.
These aren't homes. They're financial investments. I doubt that the greedy "stars" spend more than a few days a year at these cold and lonely structures devoid of humanity. We need a good depression.

No. I very much doubt that money can make you happy . They have taken surveys of people who have won mega millions in a lottery & 95% of them say they are much worse off than they were before they won. I think the best way to be happy is just to be comfortable enough so that you don’t have to worry about bills & you’re able to afford most of the things that you would like as long as your tastes are not too extravagant. I’m very happy as I am & grateful for what I have & i’ve never even taken a lottery ticket wouldn’t even know how to . The secret to life is being content with what you have. & I do consider myself to be very content.

Yep, Ashton and Mila’s home is the best... feels like a home, has soul... then, Alicia Keys’ is second for its light airiness and architectural beauty. Part of it was hanging off the cliff and will suffer dangerous erosion, they need to fix that. All the houses have some amazing features and spectacular views. There should be a limit to house size, some of these are disgustingly oversized.

I think it is absolutely shameful to waste money like this! Think of all the good that money would do in the world...all the people it could help. Absolutely NOBODY needs to live in these enormous atrocities
kellysong --- you are right for feeling the way you do.
But to give a little bit of an argument in return for what you're saying .... when someone makes millions of dollars a year for your job, you need to spend a good portion of that money to keep the government from taking a large percentage from you every year as taxes for money in the bank. Spend it on things that are going to be a good investment and gain value as time goes on. And the maintenance and staff you hire are also a business expense because you have employees, maids, a cook, a house/estate manager, secretary, gardener, maintenance/handyman, an errand runner/personal assistant, pool guy, pond guy, and maybe stable hand, mechanic, all have jobs because of the size of their house. Then if you think about how many jobs are created when they have these houses built. Carpenters, plumbers, electricians, drywall, painters, cement, stonework, roofers, air conditioning, security system, pool and spa builders, home theater builders, wallnpaperers, carpet layers, tile and granite installers, cabinet builders, audio and video techs, etc... all employed for months or years or permanently.
So, it isn't like these people aren't helping other people. Most also give to charities, and own other businesses that employ people full-time. That isn't including the gym trainer, the fish tank tech, the person who brings in fresh cut flowers daily to be arranged throughout the house, and the tennis instructor or whatever hobby they have.
I know these things because I used to work as an estate manager for two different celebrities and I have dated women with lots of money and I have clients of my business with lots of money.
It can be too much and excessive, but you can't have your money just sitting in bank accounts because you pay more in taxes if you aren't spending.

@@bonnytaylor7558 --- none of us want to pay taxes. I'm sure most of the wealthy people are donating to charities because of personal connection to a certain charity and also because it is a tax write off. Just like if you donate money to a legit charity of your choice, you get to take a deduction from your taxes for that donation.
A lot of wealthy people will buy large homes, if they are "new" wealthy. Then after a few years of spending way too much in mortgages, maintaining the property, employing the staff and all other necessary types of service people to maintain different things around the property, and paying property taxes, insurances,, etc... they usually sell the big house that they don't need and buy a smaller, easier to maintain house in a nice neighborhood or outside of the city.
Some stay in the big house because they like to entertain for large parties on a regular basis. Which also can be a tax write off.

I've worked in many homes in Los Angeles that Celebrities own, and other super rich people own. The homes would most likely be on your list if you did a top 20 or 25 hones in LA. Homes like The Playboy Mansion, Frank Lloyd Wright Jr's Sowden house, Greystone Mansion, Rappaport Malibu house used in the film Nocturnal Animals and a couple commercials, homes owned by Roseanne Barr and Leza Gibbons, Frank Sinatra's home in West Hills, Hancock Park mansion and Broad Beach mansion owned by Ed. Weinberger writer, creator Co creator of Taxi, The Cosby's, Mary Tyler Moore show, and about 20 other shows, and many more incredible homes

There are big stone mansions from the 1910s and 20s, then you have large country or ranch style homes that are just as opulent but more homey. Then you have the ultra modern, sparsely but impeccable interior design and furniture that has been made for each room. Of course you have your Mediterranean Villa style and your English Tudor style, then the eccentric artist home like one owned by artist David Hockney that is like walking through one of his paintings. Like a cartoon house. You look at a fireplace in one room and the mantle and the candle sticks and the photos of his beloved Dachshund are painted on a flat wall to look 3D but not to look real.
Eccentricity at its best.
Then one house, built in the 20s, 3 story, grand entry spiral staircase, his and her smoking rooms, a waiting room, formal dining room, dinner room, original steam elevator made from brass and marble, at the base of the stairs is a large white rug about 12 ft by 15 ft and it was owned by Napoleon and was worth about half a million dollars. Hand painted silk wallpaper, very formal,
Sinatra's house he rented for about 10 years was built for parties. It sits on a hill that back in the late 50s early 60s would have had nothing but farmland for miles around in the West Valley with parking for 200 cars and all the exterior walls are glass that open up and a guest house with its own pool that Marilyn Monroe lived in and had JFK spend weekends and nights there with her.

I will never have those kind of mansions even I will be blessed with so much money because am happy living a very simple life and I'd just rather share my money to the less fortunate people,homeless and hungry.God made us all equal and we started from nothing,no one is rich nor poor,it is the human itself that made people unequal.

Aaron spelling had his house designed with a bowling ally, and every hotel type amenity, because he hated to travel.
Him and his wife had their estate built for the kids but by the time it was finished the kids were practically grown. It took years to build that place.

If I was a wealthy person, living in the country I want to live, I would live my dream life, with my dream profession, my dream fam, caring my parents well, helping close relatives & FRIENDS!
So when it comes to "Home" I would prefer a two unit house with total of 6 bedrooms with attached with 4 bathrooms, a big modern kitchen pantries, a maid room, small garden, maybe a double office room(ajoining office room for me & my future partner to handle our professional & formal work (1 room divided)mini home theatre, hall with ps, & balcony area for workout a rooftop but all these doesn't hv to be huge just small rooms kinda house! Even if I don't own these what matters most is health, happiness,peace,contentment, positivity, blessings,education, dream job, being able to do charity & a long life for us & loved ones,happy fam & good true friends, freedom!

All these places are wonderful looking. I would love to visit each one of them but to tell you the truth, I think it's stupid to pay all that money for something that's not even homey. It's like you're living in a hotel. Think of the people they could feed. I know they worked for that money and should be able to spend it the way they want.
