John Travolta's home is not unusual for its location given that it is in a development called Jumbolair Aviation Estates just north of Ocala, Florida, which was designed specifically for fly-in homes and where every home has runway access. The facilities described here are for the entire community, not just Travolta's home, and will accommodate aircraft larger than Travolta's 707.
Celebrities become so famous they can't leave their house. They can't go shopping at a store or go see a movie. It makes sense that they want lavish homes. If I could leave my house I would want it to be cool too.
Gosh at 68 year's old me and a 9 year old little boy live in a one bedroom apartment that is Less than 900 square feet. These places look like castle's to me and this little boy. Dang I can't begin to imagine having that much space !

Absolutely! I don’t begrudge them a great lifestyle but it is getting to the disgusting point! Like I have said, why wouldn’t you want to do some good with the wealth? Billions for a space exploration??? A home you spend one week a year in? It’s getting gross!!! Like I have said, why don’t any of these people want to do REAL good? Not a “charity” where the CEO of it makes millions! I wish they would just go out on the everyday street and ask people what they need. I am telling you if I had that money I would have a blast giving! And I am quite poor,but I make bags for homeless persons each week! I eat ramen noodles right beside them. I wish to god out filthy rich would do the same!

imagine buying an island as almost a teenager for the price of a cheap house.... then turning it into a resort worth 10x what you put into it, and still make $5000 a night per person from it.... that's quite the deal
I don't understand why the hell do anyone want a big house like that I would be happy just to have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom house with a picket fence that didn't leak and the foundation wasn't falling in I would be happy
Especially since you have to either clean a huge house yourself, OR pay for someone to clean it, meaning you would need someone to be a live in maid and most likely you would need more than one…..
I’d want some mode of transportation to go from one place to another. On the other hand it is an easy way to get 10,000 steps in. Tour the house.
Penn Gillette demolished his own house when it was sold to developers, I live in Vegas and have delivered plant and sprinklers to neighbors. He didn’t want his place or ideas to be used for anything after he vacated. Very smart man.

There are dozens of stories of the "richest house in the state" selling for half of what it cost to build, because they didn't appeal to people. Just because you spend $1 million creating a Cabbage Patch Kids playroom, doesn't mean potential buyers want a Cabbage Patch playroom and will pay for it. In addition, oversized houses all come with oversized utilities that turn off homeowners.
I've seen that house several times before he demolished it. Ugly ass blight.

I enjoy watching the results of the rich and famous; I'm not jealous of their luxuries. They earned it.
It's fascinating to see really cool things like this but it also hurts to see such excess when I am homeless currently. I mean twenty two bathrooms wtf?

@@matthewhayes3142 You do know that there's free wifi in *many* places, and that a phone is something that everyone who are homeless *needs* - it was the only thing I really held onto and paid for when I lived on the streets. So what's sus with being homeless and being on TH-cam? It's not like there's soooo much to do when you sleep rough.

So it was a lot of beautiful homes and a lot of beautiful property. Most of it what wouldn’t be comfortable living in because it’s just too big I guess I’ve lived in small spaces all my life. But I guess they’d be fun to make a vacation and visit but that would be it. Thanks so much my dear friend for sharing so many beautiful today, I have some great celebrities

Tom Fords ranch is incredible, really beautiful and well done. It also is modern and still managed to blend in with the landscape.
I think Richard Bransons island was the only one that made any sense because he could rent it out and it becomes self-sustaining. Some of these homes were just huge money pitfalls.

The library in Johnny Depp’s property is NOT Victorian style. It is very Craftsman style after Frank Lloyd Wright’s very famous and recognizable architecture.

I'm weird i guess if I ever won the lottery I'd buy me a new electric wheelchair and put the $ in the bank and use some money to build my dream home a small modest home that resembles a Hobbit hole with a wood stove that heats the home and for cooking and a vegetable garden near town but still secluded enough to go make art but still near public transportation and keep only enough money to live on for the rest of my life and donate the rest and still use some for insulin... I'd be very frugal and responsible and live modestly 😊

Who needs 11 kitchens?
The Vanderbilt mansion near Asheville, NC had a bookkeeper in an office to keep track of food, menus etc. it has three kitchens. If I remember correctly there is a high end desert kitchen, a regular one for standard cooking and not sure of the third but think it was for grilling, roasting, etc. It also had multiple laundry rooms. One for delicates, one with large pocket doors that slide in and out for sheets, etc.
the botanical area on the main entrance had underground passages so water, soil, etc and the workers were out of view of the guests. The indoor pool had multiple dressing rooms. The women’s were outfitted with a silver brush, mirror, comb set. Of course the Biltmore was for guests, not a single family.

When are corporations, companies, banks, industries, etc going to become more regulated so they aren’t causing the death of the planet and the destruction of small business and the economy as a whole? They buy up all the land, and kill the world. That’s all they’re good for. When is it going to be enough? When will it be time to do something? I usually don't click on things pertaining to celebrity wealth, because even though I know they worked for it, it must be hard being a "celebrity", sarcasm intended, it just makes me sad because there are people living in cardboard boxes and you have more bedrooms and bathrooms than is necessary. The world is built on excess, if they took all their millions and lived in a modest home, we could eradicate homelessness and hunger. Children are starving but you have a home that is bigger than the white house, ridiculous. But I do like this channel, it lets me travel when I can't afford to IRL.

All of these homes are valued at (insert figures here) but what do they cost to own. How much is spent on they're upkeep, insurance, paint, water and the case of a storm wiping out out the whole lot, or fire or bomb blowing it and you away in one fell swoop, what does it cost to own a mansion worth that much?? Its far too much for me. I couldn't be given a house like these because I would find no value in owning it. It can't make momey (mostly) it except for the semi trailer can't be driven. In reality it can't do any more than provide a roof over your head and my home does that in spades and didn't cost 1% of these homes and it costs little to run thanks to the solar panels on the roof.

If I had that much money, I would want to build. I have been dreaming about building a jewel of a house. No more than 3500 ft.². Three bedrooms, four baths. Exterior trim on windows would be stone, mullion windows. On the front. French Doors on the back, leading out to the pool. Slate peaked roof. Under floor heating. Central air. Central vacuum. Wolf Gas stove top, gas oven, gas washer. Marble tile in bathrooms and kitchen. Subzero refrigerator freezer. Italian style kitchen with farmhouse sink. Hardwood floors throughout the rest of the house covered with oriental rugs/carpet. That’s just for starters.

While these people (some of them) have worked hard for the wealth they have, I will never understand why you wouldn’t want to be the most loved person on the planet by doing good for others. If I were rich like that I would have so much fun going to a store and paying for groceries, meeting a great server at a restaurant and paying for a little home or student loans. Paying for an area to have clean water, or an impoverished area school to have books. Instead of a space penis. JS.
