I have exactly the same exhaust. Installed it to day 1 hour of driving. No leeks perfect fitment, but the drone is there between 2000-3000 rpm after that it is fine. Someone told me to drive it for a week, then it will be less loud. But as today I would go back to stock
I had the smaller quick jacks (5000), but sold them to a buddy when I switched cars and needed the bigger set. Now I need the smaller ones again 😵💫. Now I have to borrow his set when I work on the boxster!
Do you have any abnormal sound on deceleration? For example, cruising at 2-3k rpm and let the gas pedal off, and when the car reaches 1.5-1k rpm, there is like purring noise, coming out of muffler. I have the same muffler as you and this strange noise makes me unhappy:( thanks a lot!
Looks good. I would be curious how the drone is at sustained highway speed. I had an eBay exhaust on my 97 Boxster and finally had to remove it because of the drone. But this has the x-pipe, so maybe better.
I haven’t done a highway cruise with the top up, but I would imagine there would be some drone. Once I have the car back together (replacing the AOS this weekend), I’ll post another video reviewing the exhaust.
Nice video thanks. But one thing I don't understand. You are the (proud) owner of a rare limited 550 Spyder. Why messing around with after market junk? It takes the value down quite a bit.
I completely understand your train of thought. I’m keeping all of the OEM parts. At anytime, I could put it back to stock. I don’t plan to do anything irreversible.
Sound clip video posted!

You have THE best wheel designs on your 986. 👍🏼. Carrera wheels are so nice and really make a 986 look much more modern.

Yeah there’s drone. It’s a weekend car so I’m not too worried about the drone. You can drive around it.
I would seriously look into a Quick jack. They aren't too expensive but give you a lot of working room.

I'm thinking about the exact same kit. I hope it works for you and I'll be following. Thank you for posting.
Thanks! So far I’m liking it. Good tone at all rpms. I am curious what it would sound like with high flow headers though!

Yes! I have the same thing. It’s not that pleasant of a sound.

Sounds nice! Did you experience any type of check engine light with the catless test pipes? What year is your 986?
No CEL with the secondary pipes. You will get a CEL if you do catless headers. My 986 is a 2004.
FYI, I posted a video with several sound clips.
I did a secondary cat delet and a borla. Just keep your headers in place and no CEL.
