Hey everyone, the scammers have found their way to my channel. ANY comment that asks you to send something to a text or a WhatsApp number (ESPECIALLY if they have the number in their name) is 100% , always, zero doubt, absolutely a scam. That's true ANYWHERE on social media. You'll notice that my name has a grey background behind "Scott Uhl." That's how you know it's really a response coming from the creator of the channel. Do NOT contact the scammers/assholes!
Use it for small gigs in small bars for some month. And finally, there was stage in the music club, where sound engineer could not take monitor AUX to the stage, there was no empty XLR outs in patch panel on the stage. So, I have to put transmitter to AUX in Behringer X32 that was located behind the crowd (about ~100 people). So, there was about 30 feet and lots of people between transmitter and 4 recievers. I was ready to switch to stage monitor PA system. I was 100% shure that this cant work in this situation: too long distance, too much people, wifi routers and wifi router in X32. But it works perfectly! I'm impressed so much. Thank you again for this review.
Amazing review Scott, the fact that you actually try all these products at actual gigs is so valuable. Most "reviewers" on TH-cam don't have any real world experience and only demo the gear in their super controlled studio conditions.
I got a set of these and they worked great. I walked all about my house and never had an issue. I can also use them for transmitting from my iPad to my splitter cable for backing tracks with a male to male adapter if I have to. Very much worth the money.
Love the honest reviews and opinions on gear. As a rookie I appreciate how you break things down to help guys like me understand things better. I've never owned a set of in ears, but wouldn't mind trying it out with one of these budget sets.

Just got this last night. Works on my mixer headphone out and line outs. Stereo separation is not 100% but it works for panning vocals, keys and guitars for my live iem monitor mix. I’ll try it out on my next gig with a wired back up. It’s going to be great live and in my studio. Thanks for the heads up on this great piece of gear. UPDATE: I can definitely hear the delay when singing. The slight delay caused by the combination of my digital mixer plus the iem delay results in a noticeable chorus/delay between the sound of my voice in my head and the iems. Not terrible but it’s there. Much less noticeable at higher iem volume levels and even better when you take the vocal out of your wedge.
A lot of people were saying the sound quality is terrible and crackly/noisy. When I first plugged them in it was clipping extremely bad. All you have to do is turn the headphones output volume down until it's clear. This is an amazing deal! I'm buying another one asap!
Glad it’s working well for you! Just remember the more 2.4Ghz gear at once, the more likely they won’t work. I personally don’t recommend using more than 2 at once. But for the price, these are great!
@@ScottUhlMusic Sorry if this is a dumb question Scott. I was wondering if you are able to use 2.4 for something and maybe 5.8 for something else in your rig? I would think that everything you are using would need to be the same frequency? I've never used wireless gear before.
Awesome review man; I subbed a while back when we first started setting up our IEM system for our worship band but now we are planning on starting up a smaller band made up of children that are ready to hit the stage. Your channel helps us out a lot on both ends. You inspired our more professional set-up and gear for the main band and now for the little ones we might incorporate a Lekato IEM's system bc as you said its cheap and I believe it'll make the kids feel more professional and in the event that one of the receivers is damaged, it won't be a big deal as it isn't as expensive as our more professional gear. It also won't make that big of a dent in our wallets! Again, thank you so much for your work man keep it up & God bless!

"Wall distance" is in reference to RF bouncing off of walls and phase cancelling. If you ever see a wireless receiver with two antennas, that's RF diversity...a means in which there are two antennas that are actively switched between to retain the best signal. Just some nerd facts for you. Thanks for your content!

Thanks for these videos, Scott. Most of the gear for IEM for casual bands is pretty far out of a reasonable budget. It's nice to see honest reviews of budget gear in this area!
Thanks Ben! I appreciate it. And yeah, budget stuff is important for a lot of musicians, but it’s important to know the details about them. I’ve seen many bands go “oh awesome, we can get all 5 wireless IEM systems at this price” and then maybe it works at their rehearsal space, but falls apart at a live concert. It’s definitely important to understand the limitations while saving money. Because they are still useable for sure, just limited.

Oh man, that’s a whole band dynamic topic haha. I would figure out what happens to the gear if someone leaves and/or is fired and agree upon that ahead of time. In my experience, it’s often better for just one person to buy it if possible. That way there is no argument when someone leaves or gets fired.

It is a stereo system. The input is 2 channels. If you receive the signal from a board you using 2 AUX sends, for instance, or the PHONES output, you can have a nice stereo mix!
@@ScottUhlMusic mine is stereo though, mono switch will combine 2 inputs not panned while switching to stereo will pan each signal to extreme left and right. U may need to check your cable. Mine works

OK. I just found your channel this week. First, i bought the Swiff ws-50 based on your recommendation for something cheap that works with active pickups (commented on that video two days ago). I purchased the Lekato MK-1 (which arrived today). You are two for two. Spot on reviews. Was worried using both the Swiff and Lekato at the same time would end up with too much latency between the two. But they work fine together. No latency. Even when playing with a backing track, no latency. I think the setup sounds slightly different as opposed to playing wired, but its not different by much. Maybe it is even my imagination. I am not a "tone purist" anyway, so I don't mind. I'll figure it out through amp settings. I'll be fine. I even have the MK-1 right next to a wireless router. Still works fine. I don't play in bands, but I am the rock star of my basement. For 100 bucks, I am now completely wireless and it is AWESOME. Thanks for the cheap solutions. Both of the aforementioned items will work fine for anyone looking to go wireless cheaply in their own house. You Rock (and have become one of my "go to" you tube guys). Well done Scott. I have these and use them with an A&H ME-1 personal IEM mixer as well as Behringer P16-M modules and can confirm they are indeed true stereo if you use the correct input, ME-1 modules give the option to pan all of the inputs or correctly assign stereo pairs, these are perfect inconjunction with those monitor modules!
Found your channel while contemplating what IEM system to get and your videos have helped more than you know. Your channel has also introduced me to brands I never knew existed. I was only looking at the usual suspects but I think I am going to try out some of the cheaper recommendations. I did order the CCA 12 and the CCA 16, the CCA 12’s sound and feel amazing and beyond the price. The CCA 16 seems like it has a bump in the midrange that hurt my ears but would definitely use them in a pinch. Thanks for your hard work!

The input in the transmitter is a Stereo Aux In and the Phone Out in the receiver is Stereo as well. You just have to run it with a splitter in the case of stereo IEM setup. I use it with my existing gear with wireless guitar system and it's like having a Waza Air for about $50. 😁Without the gyroscope.
Absolutely great video! Love the no BS, but also humorous presentation. I'm not a musician, I was actually looking for a way to convert my IEMs into wireless ones, with low latency for competitive PC gaming and your video was really helpful! (I hate being tethered to my AMP/PC/desk, but a small rectangle in my pocket is OK) Now I don't have to buy a "gaming" set of wireless earbuds, which would probably sound worse than the great IEMs I already have!

We used the KZ item earbuds this weekend, running 5 sets from a Behringer HA400 Headphone mixer. It all worked great, thanks for starting me on the IEM path.
Thanks for all the info throughout your channel! All your content helped me figure out and assemble my first IEM set up for live gigs! Performing is not my day job so the testing and reviews on cost effective stuff is awesome.
When I play late at night at home, I typically play through a modeler into a small pwoer amp and a real guitar cabinet. Obviously, I need to keep the volume very low. I've wanted to use plugs-ins on my Mac, but I hate headphone cables, and of course Bluetooth has unacceptable latency. BUT with a system like this, I could transmit from my Mac and have a low latency wireless headset. I have never used in-ears at a gig or rehearsal, but for at home practice, I will get these to try out - it may just do the trick. Thanks as always Scott.
@@ScottUhlMusic I used mine to monitor the sound board this weekend as a test. Worked well. Sounded great. A little white noise but overall super impressed. I wish they had channels to use a few at the same time. I am wondering if I can pair a set and pair another set like Bluetooth earbuds and phones can and they wont interfere with eachother.
i have used them from 6 months and i have some comments: 1.- The system works great, fantastic. but i found that if you can put the emitter to charge while you're using it the signal strength goes up. 2.- Static interference is something you would have to take in consideration. i played in a gig and the band was on a recently put synthetic grass and the static electricity wouldn't let us use the system, we went on cables. aside from those comments, really great cheap system.
always appreciate your gear reviews and your honesty with more cost-effective products. we don't always need top-of-the-line gear to get playing live, and you're out there testing this stuff in real-world environments. kudos
I play guitar and drums at church. I hate playing guitar and feeling tethered to an ME-1 personal mixer (go check those out). I'm gonna be on guitar for all of March and I hope this Lekato thing works at church. Wish me luck.
Great review! I really like the idea of having these as a back up. I have some IEMs that I run into a Mackie mixer for rehearsal and I think these would be great for practice as well!

That could be so many things. Probably sending too hot of a signal into it. I would start there. These are also quite cheap so they can “overload” easily I think as well.
The system itself doesn’t have noticeable latency. You might be getting compounded latency if you have multiple things causing latency. I’ve gigged with these before for live looping. If there was latency, there would be no way I could do that.
I just purchased these from Amazon, and am pretty happy with them. Not looking for the free set from you, but did want to let you know I am finding them for MUCH less than even $69.99 - Ali Express is offering them for $17.99 - And I've also seen them on other sites for Under $20.00 as well. - Crazy how inexpensive they are.

Great video. I'm considering this for my project (2 members). Question 1: Has anyone tried 2 transmitters + 2 receivers at the same time? Question 2: I use Ableton live to process the vocals. What about the latency in this situation? It's possible to compensate? Regards from Spain.
2 systems at once should be fine. Just remember, these are the cheapest IEMs I could find, and manage your expectations. Your computer might give you latency if the buffer size is too high. Other than that is should be fine 👍
Hi Scott, I was looking for cheap IEMs and I found your video. I'd like to ask if lekato good to use if you're a drummer? is the latency affect on playing with other band member if I'm the only one using wireless IEM.
No, there won’t be latency with these (unless you are getting multiple sources of latency or something like that with it compounding). These are a good system, but also THE cheapest one I’ve ever found, so just manage your expectations

Scott. I am an amateur and play acoustic guitar often with large open jams I find that indoors, I often cannot hear myself at all. I do have an active Fishman pickup that came with my guitar. Would some sort of IEM system work in this case? If so, how would you set this up? Thanks
Yup, an IEM system would work great for something like this. Usually going into a mixer is best and using an AUX out works well. Some cheap stuff doesn’t work as well with other gear, but that’s all trial and error
@@ScottUhlMusic thanks Scott. It actually works great with my Fishman Guitar pickup. Again, only using in jam sessions to hear myself when acoustics suck. Another question, do you know of an inexpensive pickup or microphone that I could use the same way on my banjo. It’s only going through Lekato and to ear phones. Since quality sound here isn’t an issue, I would think is there is a small battery powered mic, I might be able to just attach inside the regulator. Thank you again and thanks for the videos. Gary
i imagine that XLR female to 1/8" cable has the XLR pin 3 (signal -) shorted to ground, or pins 2 and 3 are merged, which is why it works without noise. If you are using a 1/4" TRS male to 1/8" female adapter, to adapt the 1/4" from your mixer to the 1/8" of the included TRRS cable, where does this signal (-) go? wouldn't it become the right side ear and just be noise? perhaps that mono/stereo switch negates it when set to mono? i would think the 1/8" input on the transmitter is an 1/8" stereo input right?
Awesome vid Scott as always. just an FYI on the Behringer mixers built in wifi. Its been notorious for how bad its wifi router is. the best practice is to buy and external router and plug the Behringer into that instead.
Oh yeah, I almost always do! Just for my solo set once I have it set I never really have to touch it. I have a mini portable router I usually use. I just got lazy for that one, even though it takes like 30 seconds to setup lol. But yes I agree, definitely use an external router with those!
Hi Scott, cheers for the review. I already own a transmitter/receiever pair of a similar brand - I'm impressed so far. I was wondering if you had the chance to test two sets together - ie so that one could run two different headphone mixes? Hi Scott, I'm just curious - you mentioned near the beginning that it is NOT a true stereo system. However it has TRS plugs supplied. Could you expand upon what you mean by 'not stereo'. I'm looking for a wireless solution for stereo guitar from the mini mixer at my feet on stage. My HX Stomp feeds into the mixer in stereo and the band MONO mix is blended in. At the moment I'm 'cabled-up' to be able to hear my stereo GUITAR mix. It's a pain because I have to leave the stage many times during our concerts whilst an MC takes over.
“True stereo” for a wireless IEM system is where you have two inputs into the transmitter and then are able to pan the mix that you from a mixer or something like that. But this can get a stereo signal from a laptop or iPhone or something like that if you use a TRS or TRRS cable 👍
I just bought it here in Germany for 20% off x'D so it was 55,99 €. And I mainly play solo: acoustic guitar, loop-station, vocals, that's it. And I do lots of busking and I hope that this tiny piece of gear will make my life so much easier. When I play gigs I often use a PA and use my amp as monitor. But while busking everything comes out of one single acoustic amp and this little thing will go into the main-out. Especially when I'm singing it's often difficult to hear my own recorded loops and obviously I always only have one sound source. For busking the battery life could be an issue, because I often play for many hours a day, but if this thing really works as well as I hope it does, I will just get another pair of these.

Yeah these work surprisingly well, I haven't had a failure yet. For anyone just playing bars and such this should be a good short term solution.

Good explanation of RF diversity. "Wall distance" in this case could also refer to how far you can get a signal going through a wall.

Oh man, that’s a whole band dynamic topic haha. I would figure out what happens to the gear if someone leaves and/or is fired and agree upon that ahead of time. In my experience, it’s often better for just one person to buy it if possible. That way there is no argument when someone leaves or gets fired.

It is a stereo system. The input is 2 channels. If you receive the signal from a board you using 2 AUX sends, for instance, or the PHONES output, you can have a nice stereo mix!
It’s not a “true stereo” where you can pan the signal, but you can transmit a stereo signal, correct
@@ScottUhlMusic mine is stereo though, mono switch will combine 2 inputs not panned while switching to stereo will pan each signal to extreme left and right. U may need to check your cable. Mine works

OK. I just found your channel this week. First, i bought the Swiff ws-50 based on your recommendation for something cheap that works with active pickups (commented on that video two days ago). I purchased the Lekato MK-1 (which arrived today). You are two for two. Spot on reviews. Was worried using both the Swiff and Lekato at the same time would end up with too much latency between the two. But they work fine together. No latency. Even when playing with a backing track, no latency. I think the setup sounds slightly different as opposed to playing wired, but its not different by much. Maybe it is even my imagination. I am not a "tone purist" anyway, so I don't mind. I'll figure it out through amp settings. I'll be fine. I even have the MK-1 right next to a wireless router. Still works fine. I don't play in bands, but I am the rock star of my basement. For 100 bucks, I am now completely wireless and it is AWESOME. Thanks for the cheap solutions. Both of the aforementioned items will work fine for anyone looking to go wireless cheaply in their own house. You Rock (and have become one of my "go to" you tube guys). Well done Scott. However, I will return the “lekato ms-1” because it hasn’t audio quality. It is very noisy.
I have these and use them with an A&H ME-1 personal IEM mixer as well as Behringer P16-M modules and can confirm they are indeed true stereo if you use the correct input, ME-1 modules give the option to pan all of the inputs or correctly assign stereo pairs, these are perfect inconjunction with those monitor modules!
Yup, that’s correct. With the switch set to stereo and the proper cable, they can be stereo 👍

Found your channel while contemplating what IEM system to get and your videos have helped more than you know. Your channel has also introduced me to brands I never knew existed. I was only looking at the usual suspects but I think I am going to try out some of the cheaper recommendations. I did order the CCA 12 and the CCA 16, the CCA 12’s sound and feel amazing and beyond the price. The CCA 16 seems like it has a bump in the midrange that hurt my ears but would definitely use them in a pinch. Thanks for your hard work!

I like how many more budget options are showing up for gear now! It’s great (if you understand the limitations of course).
The input in the transmitter is a Stereo Aux In and the Phone Out in the receiver is Stereo as well.
You just have to run it with a splitter in the case of stereo IEM setup.
I use it with my existing gear with wireless guitar system and it's like having a Waza Air for about $50. 😁Without the gyroscope.

We used the KZ item earbuds this weekend, running 5 sets from a Behringer HA400 Headphone mixer. It all worked great, thanks for starting me on the IEM path.

When I play late at night at home, I typically play through a modeler into a small pwoer amp and a real guitar cabinet. Obviously, I need to keep the volume very low. I've wanted to use plugs-ins on my Mac, but I hate headphone cables, and of course Bluetooth has unacceptable latency. BUT with a system like this, I could transmit from my Mac and have a low latency wireless headset. I have never used in-ears at a gig or rehearsal, but for at home practice, I will get these to try out - it may just do the trick. Thanks as always Scott.

@@ScottUhlMusic I used mine to monitor the sound board this weekend as a test. Worked well. Sounded great. A little white noise but overall super impressed. I wish they had channels to use a few at the same time. I am wondering if I can pair a set and pair another set like Bluetooth earbuds and phones can and they wont interfere with eachother.

Even for acoustic gigs I’m anti cables :)
i have used them from 6 months and i have some comments:
1.- The system works great, fantastic. but i found that if you can put the emitter to charge while you're using it the signal strength goes up.
2.- Static interference is something you would have to take in consideration. i played in a gig and the band was on a recently put synthetic grass and the static electricity wouldn't let us use the system, we went on cables.
aside from those comments, really great cheap system.

Great video. With regards to stereo I use the xr18 and run aux 1 and 2 into my current wired set up so I can pan guitars left and right. Is this possible with this in ear system? Thanks
I believe so if you use a breakout cable (two mono to 1 stereo). But I haven’t tried that

Thanks for the video. Quick question my vocals in the in ear monitors sound quality is great for the music but not good for the vocals. Would you have any ideas? I’ve tried messing with levels but with no luck. Thanks for the video again
That could be so many things. Probably sending too hot of a signal into it. I would start there. These are also quite cheap so they can “overload” easily I think as well.
I just bought this setup. I noticed a bit of latency when testing it. I'll be trying it out though our Soundcraft ui24rat our next gig.
The system itself doesn’t have noticeable latency. You might be getting compounded latency if you have multiple things causing latency. I’ve gigged with these before for live looping. If there was latency, there would be no way I could do that.
I just purchased these from Amazon, and am pretty happy with them. Not looking for the free set from you, but did want to let you know I am finding them for MUCH less than even $69.99 - Ali Express is offering them for $17.99 - And I've also seen them on other sites for Under $20.00 as well. - Crazy how inexpensive they are.

Question 2: I use Ableton live to process the vocals. What about the latency in this situation? It's possible to compensate?

2 systems at once should be fine. Just remember, these are the cheapest IEMs I could find, and manage your expectations. Your computer might give you latency if the buffer size is too high. Other than that is should be fine 👍

No, there won’t be latency with these (unless you are getting multiple sources of latency or something like that with it compounding). These are a good system, but also THE cheapest one I’ve ever found, so just manage your expectations

Scott. I am an amateur and play acoustic guitar often with large open jams I find that indoors, I often cannot hear myself at all. I do have an active Fishman pickup that came with my guitar. Would some sort of IEM system work in this case? If so, how would you set this up? Thanks
Yup, an IEM system would work great for something like this. Usually going into a mixer is best and using an AUX out works well. Some cheap stuff doesn’t work as well with other gear, but that’s all trial and error
@@ScottUhlMusic thanks Scott. It actually works great with my Fishman Guitar pickup. Again, only using in jam sessions to hear myself when acoustics suck. Another question, do you know of an inexpensive pickup or microphone that I could use the same way on my banjo. It’s only going through Lekato and to ear phones. Since quality sound here isn’t an issue, I would think is there is a small battery powered mic, I might be able to just attach inside the regulator. Thank you again and thanks for the videos. Gary

i imagine that XLR female to 1/8" cable has the XLR pin 3 (signal -) shorted to ground, or pins 2 and 3 are merged, which is why it works without noise. If you are using a 1/4" TRS male to 1/8" female adapter, to adapt the 1/4" from your mixer to the 1/8" of the included TRRS cable, where does this signal (-) go? wouldn't it become the right side ear and just be noise? perhaps that mono/stereo switch negates it when set to mono? i would think the 1/8" input on the transmitter is an 1/8" stereo input right?
Awesome vid Scott as always. just an FYI on the Behringer mixers built in wifi. Its been notorious for how bad its wifi router is. the best practice is to buy and external router and plug the Behringer into that instead.
Oh yeah, I almost always do! Just for my solo set once I have it set I never really have to touch it. I have a mini portable router I usually use. I just got lazy for that one, even though it takes like 30 seconds to setup lol. But yes I agree, definitely use an external router with those!

I was wondering if you had the chance to test two sets together - ie so that one could run two different headphone mixes? If there is only one channel, is it not possible to run two mixes even if you have two transmitters? Cheers for the great reviews.

Hi Scott, I'm just curious - you mentioned near the beginning that it is NOT a true stereo system. However it has TRS plugs supplied. Could you expand upon what you mean by 'not stereo'. I'm looking for a wireless solution for stereo guitar from the mini mixer at my feet on stage. My HX Stomp feeds into the mixer in stereo and the band MONO mix is blended in. At the moment I'm 'cabled-up' to be able to hear my stereo GUITAR mix. It's a pain because I have to leave the stage many times during our concerts whilst an MC takes over.
“True stereo” for a wireless IEM system is where you have two inputs into the transmitter and then are able to pan the mix that you from a mixer or something like that. But this can get a stereo signal from a laptop or iPhone or something like that if you use a TRS or TRRS cable 👍

I just bought it here in Germany for 20% off x'D so it was 55,99 €. And I mainly play solo: acoustic guitar, loop-station, vocals, that's it. And I do lots of busking and I hope that this tiny piece of gear will make my life so much easier. When I play gigs I often use a PA and use my amp as monitor. But while busking everything comes out of one single acoustic amp and this little thing will go into the main-out. Especially when I'm singing it's often difficult to hear my own recorded loops and obviously I always only have one sound source. For busking the battery life could be an issue, because I often play for many hours a day, but if this thing really works as well as I hope it does, I will just get another pair of these.
