    Scott, great video. You are very clear about the pro and the cons, love the no nonsense approach. I bought four NuX 5ghz units some weeks ago, didn’t work out got a refund, but I’m going to look at the ptm33 and 10. Cheers.

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the NUX one works well for me AND I let a friend borrow it when he forgot to bring his to our Dominican Republic show we got to do. He loved it and asked where to buy one. But many people have had problems with it. I had to update with a pinned comment on that one.
      But definitely worth looking into the 33 or the 10. Phenyx pro does great stuff!

    Your Drummer might have a short in his iems cable it happens pretty often because the corrosion gets in the ports and drummers also are usually unreasonably very hard on their cables yanking on them snagging with stickes ect. I had my signal drop out on me with my old shure se215 iem's from this I intially thought it was my wireless but after brushing the cable while whipping sweat off my forehead I heard it cut out so I started messing with the connection and figured it out. All the sweat got in the port and caused corrosion i eventually cleaned it with deoxit on a qtip and it worked fine again

    Thanks for the rundown on frequency spread and how that works with budget choices, Scott. I've been thinking about picking up a Phenyx, and if I'm getting a wireless system, I want all my garmonbozia. If I can't have it all, then it's important to know what I CAN have.

    Seems like a steal for less than $500. I Want All My Garmonbozia. What's the difference between the channels 1-10 and the frequency range of each group?

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Groups and channels are just how most wireless do frequency names. Instead of 902.025 they just say “group 2 channel 6.” Although it’s definitely than that and I have a video on it here: th-cam.com/video/3zuHC2m0l3s/w-d-xo.html
      Although also, this system doesn’t really follow how groups work like they do in this video

    Thanks for the review. I wonder if DJs and live sound audio engineers are considering using these systems for wireless speakers. I probably would be concerned about the ability to play through walls but definitely would consider the following for line of sight.

    Hi Scott...I've watched this video and the PTM-10 and the PTM-10 using 2 receivers with 1 transmitter. The cost for 1 PTM-33 and 4 packs vs 2 PTM-10s and 4 packs is almost even. We only need 4. We have very little else in the way of wireless (a Shure GLXD-16 for my guitar). The question is: Should we go all-in-1 with the PTM-33 (seems easier and less hassle) vs the dual PTM-10s? Thanks in advance.

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would definitely go with 2 PTM 10s instead…. Because they each span the entire frequency range instead of cutting it into 1/4s like the 33s do. Definitely go that route 👍

    I wonder if having only 2 antennas is the reason for the system being mono, as they may lower costs in transmitting hardware by sending a stereo signal that each pack will pick and reproduce only one channel. Pretty smart move imo. I want all my garmonbozia!

    Hi Scott, congrats on your content, it's pure quality. I have a quick question, I'm new to this world (Monitors) and I play rhythm guitar on a band with friends, nothing too professional. A couple of years ago I got a set of Ultimate Ears Pro inears just to listen to music but now I want to start using them for what they're for. I've been looking on amazon for a system and I'm not sure, we mostly play rock and sometimes it's just the singer and myself. What would you recommend I get? Considering I'd probably plug them on the console we all plug into on the headphones channel, nothing too fancy to start with. Any recommendation would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the video, was about to purchase, but the unbalanced inputs is what's bothering me. I'm running a 100 foot snake with XLR aux outputs, and the unbalanced signal is really only good for like 25 feet or so before introducing noise/signal degradation. 4x xlr to 1/4 inch line transformer adapters plugged into the transmitter from the snake the best solution? Should have just had balanced inputs as an option. :(

    I recently bought the 8 mic wireless system from Phenyx and I am wondering if we could also run these. We are using 5 mics and ideally need 5 IEMs. Is that to much? We also have two different guitars running wireless. One in 2.4 and one in 5 mhz. Am I on the right track?

      Loop out is for going into the input and then directly passing the signal out. So you can put in vocals or guitar or something direct and then pass it through to FOH to be mixed, but you still can hear the instrument you plugged in

    Got a light? Your channel has been really valuable in trying to get my bandmates religion on IEMs. I know you clowned on the drummer a bit in this one, but do you have any suggestions or videos on handling the drums in the IEM mix? It seems to be the biggest wildcard on how they get mic'ed with the shows I play.
    If only I had a 10-year-old version of me to say "I want all my garmonbozia!"

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      First, nice “got a light” reference 🤘 I’ll never forget the first time I watched episode 8 🤯
      Second, yeah drums are by far the toughest. And they get the most bleed into mics too, especially if you have multiple singers. Sometimes I have to remove all drum mics because I get so much bleed from the vocal mics. Other times just kick and snare are good. It definitely depends on the room and setup

    Hi sir. Sorry, if I didn't catch it or anything. Do you plug your guitar (another cable from your stereo pedal) into one of the inputs of the PTM33 to get the feed, or do you get a feed from your amp? Or would it work either way? Also, does this mean you need to get a feed from the drum mix from the house and then plug it into one of the inputs to get the drum tracks? Thank you.
