    Yo, this is Lin n I just seen ur video on the Nissan Sentra n I like the way u explained all good, cause I saw another video n it had snap shots on how he did the head gasket replacement, bt see I'm not a mechanic bt do know some things about doing things on a vehicle, n so see I bought a Nissan Altima n I've already changed the fuel pump bt now I am doing a head gasket on my ride, well practically everything,see I bought new spark plugs, ignition coils,head gasket set from 1A auto that came with the O'rings n those round cylinders n bought a new battery, new exhaust manifold, O2 sensors, oil change, anti-freeze bt already did a super flush on my ride n also got new tires on it n changed the front engine mount n got the new cylinder head bolts,so I've cleaned my intake manifold the cylinder head n so my question is should I go ahead n put her back together? N also on the other video he used copper spray 4 the all the gaskets do I really need to use that copper spray like I said it was snap shots n it didn't show when he did the TDC thing so I didn't get mine's to the TDC b I got it all marked even on the cardboard n on my phone, so I'm gonna just put her back the way I took her apart would that b alright? I hope u say yes cause I cleaned up most everything just little more of the RTV on the cam cover n put everything back on, am I doing it right cause like to have ur opinion r another one's opinion moreless I really would appreciate ur mechanic advice bro

    i heard those Felpro gaskets are shite, should always use OE Nissan really.
    hoping you dont have to do it again next year

      been doing this professionally for years now. Only use fel pro. there would be no money in it for me if I had to go back and redo it. never had an issue. I have had issues with Mercedes and BMW victor rienz gaskets.

    The lifters are hydraulic, the is no valve adjustment

    • @MattShaughnessy6
      @MattShaughnessy6  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes there is. all hydraulic lifters have adjustments. you either change the lifter it self or you change the wafer. this video will explain how you adjust "hydraulic vavles" all valves have to be adjusted at some point due to wear and tear. th-cam.com/video/7FmKBWuPvKE/w-d-xo.html&list=PLPTX5wYG1uDaZsRbtAUWPULJ2gfpxSaIK&index=8

    Hello fellow Idahoan!! I've been listening to different people on TH-cam working on these Sentra because I love to learn new things and I also love to work on my cars and fix my own stuff while saving money in the process. With that said I recently went through a life changing event where my neighbors house caught fire and burned mine down in the process along with all my possessions including my tools and everything in my garage including one of my vehicle's. I still own my 04 Sentra ser spec v and was looking to change the exhaust and headers along with front and back brakes. I'm obviously going to have a difficult time with this without my tools and was wondering if you would be interested in helping? I don't have much money atm but I can definitely work something out if your interested or trade or even offer some help if you need help with something in exchange. This all is of course considering you still live in Boise area and are still working on cars. I'm a kitchen manager and I cook for a living. One of my hobbies is cars obviously and I simply don't have friends here in Idaho that are also passionate about cars the way I am. Lmk if this is something you would be interested in. I plan on doing some work to the car as soon as the parts arrive and I recover some of my tools.

    what size is the head cylinder bolt

  • @brettreese289

    I just recently did a head gasket on my qr25de and did everything to spec. When I fired up the motor, it started up fine, but shortly made a metal on metal screeching sound from where I could only assume would be the cams. I used assembly lube and poured some oil over the cam lobes and lifters before I put the valve case on to prevent a dry start, but could that sound be because I over tightened the cam caps?
